Fantastic! This Subway is located inside the Wal-Mart on Cook Rd in West Branch. We called in an order for a 6-foot sub and picked it up the next day. Let me Say What We're all Thinking: This Refresh Sucks I used to love Subway. Then I had to stop going because the food got progressively worse and worse. Honestly during the old $5 Footlong days it was pretty bomb then they raised prices and cut costs by reducing quality. It just became no longer worth going. I heard about this refresh and thought I'd give them another try. It sucks even worse now. The ham and turkey are sliced thin, sure. But I still get the same number of slices? So basically they increased the cost of the turkey and ham. The meat on my sub looks so pathetic it's almost like it's not existent. The bacon is floppier than a wang in a nursing home. It's actually disgusting. The fact I take a bite into my sub and have to pull at bacon strings that won't let go is unacceptable. I never thought I'd say this but the bacon here actually makes the subs WORSE. I wanted to go for the gold so I tried one of the new cali subs. I got it stock to give it a chance. The girl told me the dressing is usually mayo or ranch which sounded wrong but I went with ranch. Wrong choice. The ranch dressing is like watery for some reason. Ranch is supposed to have substance to it. It's not supposed to run like water. What the hell was this? The 'smashed avocado' tasted nothing like avocado. She was scraping the bottom of the bin so maybe it had been sitting there all day or something but it was gross. I don't really know how else to describe the taste. I have seen some reviews of people saying the mozzarella was a great upgrade and their favorite part. Mine didn't melt right for some reason. It looked like egg whites on my sub the way it was rubbery and thick. The cheese should be melted on a toasted sub, not eggy. Spinach, tomatos, and onions were the same. Which is fine. The bread was bland now (artisan italian). The bread used to have a distinct Subway taste. No longer. Now it's...well like I said, bland. I guess they removed a bunch of sugar from which which yippee but maybe I wanted that shit? Why not add a new TYPE of bread..."Less Sugar" or something and let people choose? All in all this was literally one of the worst subs I've ever eaten. I got a footlong but I only ate half and then tossed the other half. That's how bad it was. I never throw food away. I'm Italian. Safe to say this'll be my last Subway trip. read more

My husband and I go to this Subway frequently. It is located inside Walmart in West Branch. Today when I approached the counter the woman - Carolyn - did not look at me but blurted out "we don't have any herb and cheese bread" I said that was ok. Then she said "what do you want?" It took me a moment to respond because I was quite taken aback by her "greeting". I continued with my order and when it got to cheese, I asked for the Monterey cheddar. The container was almost empty and she put very little on my sub. I then asked if she could add a little bit more cheese and she said "I will have to charge you." At this point I was pretty irritated and I said "That's fine I guess, but there's almost no cheese on it, that's why I asked." She replied stating that is all that she is allowed to put on. However, in the dozens of times that I have frequented this Subway and other Subways in the past, they definitely put more cheese on their subs than a pinch. So I paid an extra 75 cents for still less cheese than I typically get. The entire interaction was really uncomfortable and I almost asked what her name was because she was not wearing a name tag and then after I sat down to eat, I realized it was stuck to her visor. So I did go back up so that I could read what her name was. I watched two other interactions take place. One gentleman walked in and was greeted very similarly to how I was. He asked for a foot long meatball sub. She said I don't have enough meatballs for a foot long sub. It was 12 p.m. and she didn't have enough meatballs for a sub? The lunch rush had not even begun yet. He ordered something else. As I was finishing up my lunch another gentleman walked in and she was standing by the cash register when he walked in, she walked to the end where the customer was waiting to order, never looked at him and walked into the back. He stood there for about 2 minutes before she returned to take his order in the same fashion in which she took mine and the customer after me. I understand food service can be trying, I've worked in food service as well, but treating customers this way is unacceptable and I hope that this employee can be given some training on customer service. We will be taking our business elsewhere going forward. Carolyn - you should probably find another job, maybe one that doesn't entail interacting with the public. read more

Years ago when this subway restaurant opened up we were so excited. However the service at this restaurant leaves nothing to be desired. Often you must wait quite a long time to get a sandwich made and on most occasions the staff behind the counter is as far from friendly as you can be. It appears to me that the people working the subway counter are also employed as gas station clerk's. This creates an interesting dynamic that I'm not sure mixes well with my food order. Today when we showed up for lunch, the four of us waited in line for more than five minutes. The single person behind the counter went to the gas station counter and asked for help. She retrieved a second sandwich artist who helped alleviate the line. There was never a thank you or I may I get you anything else or anything helpful in this transaction. Other then it's a Subway sandwich and probably hard to screw up, the condiments behind the bar looked half frostbitten and freezer burned. This hopefully will be be my last time here as I just can't take the poor service and unappealing look of this restaurant. Eat at your own risk. There is another subway just down the road in the entrance to Walmart. I've not been to that subway but it can't be this bad. read more

I wish I could give zero stars but that's not an option for waitress and subway was a complete snob her name was Sarah. she put a half of a scoop of cheese on a whole entire 6 inch submarine sandwich and was really telling the customers that she'll be right with them while screaming from the back horrible customer service skills this subway should be shut down. Asked for the multigrain bread and she lied and told me it was discontinued. But I just had that bread at another subway two days ago. Then when I asked her for a little more cheese, (after she only put 1/2 tablespoon on a whole 6" sub) she said it was her company policy and she would have to charge me extra. Lol. Inside the Shell gas station, all I can say is I got an unfit for human consumption Italian sub roll. This thing was so stale it was crumbling in my hand just holding it. I seriously should of called Subway to complain but just forgot about it, was early this year on one of my northbound trips to Petoskey. read more
