Very flavorful and satisfying. Would come here every day for lunch if I live in Sykesville. Came there for the Sykesville summer concert series and honestly having Uncle Joes to get our food instead of having the food trucks is such an improvement. We will for sure come back on the summer weekends to enjoy the musical vibes and for the food and libations.

The deli is just east off Main in a standalone building with a lovely brand new sign! There's plenty of parking across Main, and I think there's even a free shuttle around town on Sat and Sun. Their creative sandwiches are huge and fresh, made to order and worth a couple minutes wait. We got the Capisce: luscious pistachio pesto layered over thick slices of ripe tomato, generous slabs of fresh mozzarella, sliced red onion, and tender greens with balsamic vinaigrette between slices of their wonderful thin crunchy toasted focaccio bread. A refreshing vegetarian creation! And we had the Flora, because it starts with a bright green-olive tapenade which i just love! over those sweet juicy tomatoes, thick fresh mozz, a generous layer of richly flavorful thin-sliced dry-cured prosciutto ham, and lovely big hunks of roasted sweet red peppers, with their thinly sliced red onion and tender fresh greens with tangy vinaigrette, held by that perfectly lightly crunchy toasted fresh-tasting bread. We grabbed soft beverages from the cooler in their market and enjoyed our dinner with the concert. An interesting selection of grocery products, also produce, and a freezer of meats and fish, including their own branded bratwurst or sweet Italian pork sausage or chorizo, and pork sausages with duck or wild-boar or venison, and sliced leg of lamb and wild salmon! At this weekly outdoor concert (Fri and Sat), there's shaded tables set up, and they welcome you to grab food and drink here or at any of the surrounding places. We had just started a cool spell of perfect weather, so this was everything: good food, good weather, good times in historic Sykesville!

DO NOT EAT HERE - SCAM RESTAURANT…read more The overall experience was disappointing from start to finish. When I walked in, there was no one at the counter. The purple haired Gen Z employee was sitting at a table on his phone. The chef, Jose, had to come out of the kitchen just to get his attention so he could take my order and answer the phone that had been ringing. I placed a simple order for an 8 inch cheesesteak and asked if they had Cooper Sharp cheese. The employee responded, "Like Cooper American?" I said yes, that's exactly what I meant. When I went to pay with my card, I noticed there was a $2 surcharge for using a card. I switched to cash, only to find out afterward that I had been charged extra for the Cooper Sharp cheese. It would have been nice to know that before ordering. When my cheesesteak came out, I was honestly shocked. There was barely enough meat to cover half the roll. Since it was a takeout order, I brought it back inside and politely said, "I'm sorry, but this isn't right. There's barely any meat on this sandwich." The employee looked at it and asked, "So, like, what's wrong with it?" At that point, I asked him to get the chef. The chef told me every cheesesteak comes with 8 ounces of meat. Whether that's their stated portion or not, the sandwich I received certainly didn't look like it. Then he said, "I don't know where you're from, but this is how we do it here." Well, I'm from Philadelphia, where the cheesesteak was invented. I've eaten cheesesteaks my entire life, and I know what a proper cheesesteak looks like. The one I was served was skimpy, overpriced, and nowhere near what I expected. To make matters worse, when they processed my refund, they initially tried to give me only $10 back even though I had paid almost $13. They didn't even seem to know the price of their own menu items. The dining area reflected the same lack of attention. The employee went right back to sitting on his phone while the tables remained greasy and covered in crumbs and residue from previous customers. Instead of helping customers or cleaning the restaurant, he was completely disengaged. Between the inattentive staff, undisclosed upcharges, poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, an embarrassingly underfilled cheesesteak, and being told, "I don't know where you're from, but this is how we do it here," this was one of the worst cheesesteak experiences I've had. DO NOT EAT HERE!!

It's a smallish space and indoor seating was really full at 11 AM on a weekday. Because of rain, the outdoor benches were not in use, and I saw closed-up patio-umbrellas too. I ordered from a kiosk or you could order online or in person. I got the bacon egg and cheese croissant and it was made quickly by welcoming staff. It was a regular size croissant with very light cheese and a layer of crispy bacon pieces in a well toasted croissant. The flavor was good. This café also sells a number of beverages, including fresh ground espresso, and various teas And they sell some bakery goods, candies, and quite a variety of dry-packaged teas and coffee. The parking right in front Café Jun can get pretty full, but there's plenty parking in the rest of the shopping center. You can enter the shopping area from eastbound US-40 Baltimore National Pike, or from westbound Frederick Road. It's just east of Centennial Lane/Bethany Lane and about a mile West of US 29. The larger shopping area has a diner 3-strip mall sections, one of which is called Princess Shopping Center, so I'm a little confused which mall-name covers which shops. They have a summer concert planned! That should be fun!

People do seem to respect the 90MIN seating window though so you should be able to find a seat. You order and pay at the counter first and then they give you a table number card. This is how they find you to serve your food. I ordered a regular matcha latte, a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on croissant bread and their famous croffle. I loved their matcha latte. It's pre-sweetened so no need to add extra vanilla syrup or anything. This does not taste like a traditional matcha, which in my opinion tastes like dirt. This is a sweeter, dessert like matcha. I didn't care for the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was kind of dry and it tasted like something was missing. The croffle was amazing. It has a nutty, pecan like taste to it and it was topped with vanilla gelato and blueberries. I couldn't really taste the maple syrup but it was delicious nonetheless.

We ordered shrimp and grits, I was told it was good with a little spice. Two of us ordered the salmon with crab/corn risotto (delicious). The deviled eggs were deep-fried with a little jalapeño on top--absolutely excellent! The wings were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and had a fantastic flavor with just the right amount of heat. We then split a burger and fries. The burger was a little overdone for my liking, but it still had an amazing flavor. The fries were decent and paired well with the burger. We also each had a cocktail--the Peach Mule and the Key Lime Pie cocktail. Both were refreshing, well-balanced, and a great addition to the meal. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience and would definitely come back!

I am a personal fan of fried hashbrowns. Where has a little bit more crunch to them but these were OK. The eggs were cooked perfectly and paired well with the meats and avocado. Overall, I would say that it's a pretty heavy and hearty meal mostly because of the potatoes but flavor wise was good. 3.5/5 I got the pretzel and you can't go wrong with the pretzel fluffy and good and the dipping sauces also paired with it well. Not the best Bavarian pretzel I've had but still pretty good. 3.5/5 Overall, this place was cute and had good ambience and good service with a knowledgeable staff and the food was good enough that I want to come back to try more things!
