5 exciting stars up in the sky! Just like craving a re-watch of a favorite movie, craving the taste of a go-to comfort meal, sometimes I think of when I can come back to lovely Benecia (I don't live local) and allow my eyes to ingest the sights of Succulents & More for stress relief, decor ideas, to adopt something cute or ugly (cuz let's be honest, sometimes succulents can be ugly) but green & alive to love & take care of. After leaving the fam at the pier down the street to see what sorts of fish can unluckily become our dinner, I decided to check out what shops this little beach town can offer. Plant stores are my jam, so after yelping "plant store" this walk worthy sparkling gem popped up. I had to rush because they close around 5 & it was past 4pm. Parking isn't the most plentiful on this street, so I jogged there from my already parked car. From the outside array of succulents that greeted me that started at an affordable $5 each, to the packed thoughtful & inspiring aisles of displays of healthy & full greenery, super cute & funny planters (i.e. boob planter), to the inviting green comfy velvet couch, I just wanted to sit down & allow my eyes to devour the cuteness & inspiration that covered every square inch of this store from floor to ceiling. My eyes really couldn't hold it all in, there was so much to look at (check out the video) like framed art, planters, lots of strings of plants, snake plants, pileas, maranatas, calatheas. I can't name them all but theres lots. Which is precisely why I need to come back & do it again. This place isn't big box store like Green Acres, Home Depot or Lowes. It's more boutique plant shop, one that's individul person owned & operated. While there, the new owner of the store zipped around, enthusiastically helping all her customers & answering questions. Shop small business, support local! It's definitely worth the drive here on a sunny day, to come back to search for a cute unique pot or when craving a new plant addition to my growing plant family or just for no reason at all. read more

I went in expecting something similar to Anthropologie's Terrain or Fern's Garden in Berkeley, and got a mash up of a plant shop merged with a Barnes and Noble. Although I was expecting plants and small gifts, the space feels random and unplanned like someone searched 'garden' on Amazon and then just sold what popped up. The service was friendly but overall the selection wasn't for me. read more

It's my favorite plant therapy store. I love the rare plants and all the plant energy inside. Ther are succulents, ferns, air plant, and more. It's truly beautiful inside. Was taking a stroll down first street to kill time before my lunch reservations with the fam and stumbled across this cute shop. They have unique pots, decor, trinkets, cameras, and even consignment bags. The owner was in the shop and was very friendly and helpful in getting pricing for an art piece that my husband and I have been eyeing for some time. We were in the area and stop by. They literally have the cutest things. They have a ton of plants. They had specialty planters. Also a lot of nicknacks. This place has a lot of special plants that's are used in terrarium. They also have lights for them. We spent about half hour just looking at all the things. "Still the Most Unique Shop in the Bay Area!" The last time I was here, I purchased a succulent and custom "cat" pot, and give it as a gift to my wife. Alas, my wife did not properly water it and it died soon thereafter. She hid the fact it was dead until I discovered it all withered and dried up. The cat pot was still okay however, so it was not a total loss. So today, I brought the old cat container to recycle, and asked Cecilia to help me plant another succulent plant. She suggested one that was more resilient, and thus had a higher probability of survival in case it experienced desert-like conditions. Actually, when I say that the owner helped me, I mean that Cecilia actually did all the work--I just watched her put the succulent in the cat pot. They have cute little boxes that they put your potted plant in, to keep it safe on the way home. The plants are in the front of the shop, and the rear is like a craft or antique store. Tons of interesting items to buy. It reminds me of one of those antique malls. Towards the rear of shop they also have a terrarium Art Zone. Well they probably don't really call it an "art zone," but that's how I think of it. You create your own terrarium using all kinds of colored stones. My wife will love this shop. But I'm only going to bring her if she remembers to water the new plant. If she forgets to give it water, my next gift will likely not include any living species--it might be just be a bunch of stones. read more

I have never really explored downtown Benicia, however today was the day. While wandering Benicia with a friend and my seven year old in tow we came across this place. I needed a house warming gift for a friend who loves the quirky things in life. Cecilia helped me out. I picked out a Frida Kahlo hanging planter and a few small succulents. she then potted them and added a topper that she called watermelon glass. The store was filled with tons of planters, different types of pants, gifts, knick knacks, antiques in the back and even a terrarium bar, in which you can make your own terrarium with moss, sand, rocks, figurines, etc. The store is an absolute delight and I will definitely be back. read more

I stumbled across this shop because I was waiting for my table at Lucca's Restaurant (right next door) and to kill time I decided to check out this extremely inviting store front. So much to look at and a treasure trove of fun. I love how the owner is so accommodating, friendly and most of all thinks outside the box. Her creativity is top notch when it comes to succulent arrangements. This shop has an array of goods from anime to Disney to Nickelodeon and everything in between. They even have antique cameras to high end purses. It was crazy awesome. I have never come across any other store like this. We easily spent over half an hour looking at all sorts of cute things that this place sold! My friend and I know nothing about plants and the shop owner was super kind to help us pick out the perfect things (and not trying to sell us unnecessary things) she even gave us a discount because she told us the wrong price on accident.
