The Pink Lady I purchased tonight had literal mold all over it.

If I could give 0 I would. Went here after dinner to get a sweet treat. Lady behind the counter was so sweet and personable. BUT I Bit into my cake and thought it tasted weird. Flipped it over and found mold all over it. Spent $18 just to have to throw up and throw away.

    Very unprofessional.

This French bakery offers authentic pastries, hand-made croissants, brunch fare, & espresso drinks. The high-ceilings, white tile, and marble tabletops emit a European café vibe. There is also a charming courtyard if you want to soak in some sunshine. I first learned about this bakery when staying at the Hotel Villa Convento across the street. They served their buttery rich croissants as part of their continental breakfast. (I'm not sure if they still do.) Now that I have a house in the Quarter, I take a morning stroll over here to pick up croissants to take home. The butter croissants are a bargain at $3.50. I also love the chocolate & almond (both are $3.95 each), as well as the crisp & flaky Palmiers & delicate Almond Florentines. When I have guests, I bring them back a Ham & Cheese Croissant - a bargain at $5.50. They always ask me to bring another the next day.

So we had to come to where the incredible, almighty "Banana's Foster" dessert was created! Here's how our time was at Brennan's. Atmosphere/Appearance: We came in the front door and the whole back of the restaurant was packed for a private party and I respect that so my wife and I took some seats at the bar that were recently vacated. We didn't get a whole tour of the restaurant, but it felt like a big mansion with several partitions, rooms and etc. Lighting was dim, a bit dark and intimate, but the atmosphere felt so calm and chill compared to Bourbon Street nearby. Lol. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but she was the bartender and she was awesome. We had no problems whatsoever and when it came time to make the infamous dessert, she popped out from behind the bar to put on quite an amazing show! Food/Drink: I started out with their Lobster Risotto and it was fantastic. Creamy, hearty and BURSTING with flavor! I absolutely loved it and loved how it was a smaller portion as an appetizer. For my entree I with with the BBQ Shrimp and a side of their grilled asparagus. Delicious through and through. Portion, presentation, flavor and everything was just top-tier. No complaints. Value: This place won't break the bank, but it's not cheap eating either. It's a good date-night spot so be prepared to spend, but if you do it right, you won't blow your budget. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time here at Brennan's! No complaints! Check this place out if you're in the area and it certainly lived up to it's reputation.

They were out of quite a few bottles, but there was still a wide selection. The service was very thoughtful, with the owner serving most of the tables herself. She was even kind enough to give us free glasses of Champagne while our bottle cooled. You will feel cared for here. The real standout though was the food. We had caviar topped deviled eggs, caviar serving, and a wheel of deliciously melted cheese. Everything was gorgeously presented and Instagram worthy. The deviled eggs were incredible. My sister said they were one of the best things she's eaten and she's not a fan of deviled eggs. The caviar was great (of course). The cheese was also excellent and included dates that were remarkably good. The ambiance is very cute. Simple and clean aesthetics that are refined but lightly adorned. This is my 7th time visiting NOLA, and Effervescence is now one of my favorite places in NOLA.

For our fourth wedding anniversary, we chose the four-course menu and had a true five-star experience. Restaurant August excels at hospitality, and the dining room's warm tones create an inviting atmosphere, especially after sunset when the chandeliers and candlelight begin to glow. We also appreciated how thoughtfully the wines by the glass paired with the menu options. Honestly, we struggled to choose a favorite dish because every course was memorable and beautifully executed! The setting is stunning. A beautiful open dining room inside a historic building. While we waited in the bar for our guests to arrive, it was clear this was a polished operation. The service team carried themselves with a level of sophistication you don't see everywhere. We chose the four course tasting menu, where each course offers three options. With four of us dining, we ordered every option and doubled up on one we thought deserved a larger portion. First Course Tuna Crudo Wagyu Beef Tartare Grilled Gulf Shrimp Second Course Gnocchi "Black and Blue" Crawfish Tartlet Diver Scallop Third Course Irodori Wagyu Manhattan Strip Snapper Pontchartrain Dry-Aged Duck Breast Fourth Course Tarte à la Bouille Hummingbird Cake After Dinner Mint Course after course, the food was outstanding. Creative, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The only item we would not order again was the After Dinner Mint dessert. It leaned a bit too heavily on the mint. The wine list is impressive. We ended up ordering three bottles over the course of the evening and enjoyed each one. One issue kept this from being a perfect experience. The third course, our entrée, took 46 minutes to arrive, compared to about 15 minutes between the earlier and later courses. There was no proactive communication from our server. I had to flag her down to ask, and was told it was on the way. That delay stretched our evening by close to 30 minutes, and there was no acknowledgment or effort to make up for it. If I'm scoring it, the food is a 5 out of 5 without question. The service, because of that lapse, was closer to a 3. I'll meet in the middle and give Restaurant August a 4 overall. Even with that hiccup, this was one of the best meals we've ever had in New Orleans.

Emeril was bursting onto the TV scene as a national phenomenon... and my first visit to Emeril's would be followed by many others over the years. New Orleans... Las Vegas... Orlando (many times). They were always terrific. Yet none were quite like my recent visit to the "new" Emeril's experience, featuring a rebuilt dining room, an elevated tasting menu only, and now directed by Emeril's uber-talented son, E.J. Lagasse. The room is beautiful, everyone's dressed to match the refined atmosphere, and when the reservation advised to "allow 3.5 hours for the full dining experience", they meant it! It's a six-course powerhouse dinner, and the listed dishes are just the start. Endless surprises come from all directions, with multiple servers bringing all sorts of delights from start to finish. Many pay homage to classic New Orleans dishes, such as a bite-sized barbecue shrimp tart, or a seafood almondine. The response I received was, "We're sorry you feel this way and we are starting an internal investigation." There was no apology or meaningful concern expressed during the call. The overall interaction felt defensive and dismissive from the beginning. As someone working in the industry, I was surprised by the lack of empathy and basic hospitality shown when we reported becoming seriously ill after dining there.
