This is a Cute little bakery and coffee spot hidden away downtown just a few blocks from the convention center. We discovered this place quite by accident and it was a nice surprise. The service here is fast and they have a small selection of coffees and pastries that were perfect for our grab and go needs. I highly recommend if you're in the area and don't want to deal with busier places that make you wait forever for a cup of coffee.

Sorry for the pitiful photo... Ran into a pop up shop selling King Cakes. Wanted to bring a King Cake for a party. To say it was a hit was an understatement. Before, I could get photos most of it was gone but two tiny little pieces. We received so many compliments on the cake. It was just the right amount of sweetness, light rich and airy cake. Next time we are in New Orleans I will be stopping by to try other baked items

I somehow had two different cakes from here in less than 6 hours and WOW were both amazing. The cakes were so moist and flavorful, and the cake to icing ratio was perfection. Plus they were beautiful! Definitely order your cake here for any occasion, or stop by for the cupcakes!

This is my second time trying Bittersweet Confections. The first time was with Yelp Elite. The first time I came by, I really enjoyed it, so I knew I would be coming back when I had the opportunity. It's a cute little place with a good sized menu, displays full of bakery treats and desserts, and ice cream! I got the cheddar scone and the spinach pastry. They heated both of these items up for me and served them out to me. I appreciated that the utensils and plates were not plastic and even the water had options for washable cups. The prices are really good here and you get a satisfying amount of food. I wish it was more convenient for me to come here. But the hours make it tough during the week and parking can be challenging. Drinks: Coffee, Tea, Juices, and Breakfast Cocktails Service: Food and drinks are ordered at the counter and they will bring your food out to you when it's ready Parking: Paid street parking Outdoor Seating: There are a handful of tables outside

Stopped in on our way to the WWII museum for breakfast. Unfortunately, it appears a few things have been omitted from their menu. We wound up ordering the Lox Blt on a bagel.. You order at the counter, pay and are given a number. Getting our food seemed to take a long time, especially given they were not busy at all. Overall, the coffee was good, the bagel sandwich was mediocre. With a very thin slice of salmon and 2 strips overcooked bacon, a bite of lettuce greens and some aioli dressing. For $15, i would have expected more to it. Total bill was $55+ tip for 2 bagel sandwiches + 2 coffees. Their desserts; though we didn't order any, looked absolutely decadent and delicious.

Bittersweet Confections was such a great find! I had a coffee, a vanilla bean scone, and a coffee cake muffin--everything was absolutely awesome. The scone was perfectly tender with just the right hint of vanilla, and the muffin was moist and full of flavor. It was the perfect stop for a cozy treat, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Definitely a spot I'd go back to again!

I'm my husband always gets my bittersweet chocolate cake for my birthday. So I gave the chocolate cream cheese king cake a try. nothing at all traditional but Incredibly delicious.

I love sweets so I am making my way through every bakery in town. I've had bittersweet a couple times but every time it seems to be a little dry for me. I had a custom birthday cake for my 40th and it was good but I've had better. Service is fine and I really like the atmosphere for coffee and a treat.

I stopped by Bittersweet Confections around 8:30am on a Friday after taking a yoga class next door. It's a quite spacious cafe with impressive displays of model wedding cakes, glass cases of pastries and little French style cakes and tarts, ice cream freezer, etc. Although it's a sweet shop, I saw that they also made savory food, which was exactly what I was looking for. They also made cocktails and coffee drinks. Customer service was great. The server was friendly and simply had a positive attitude. I ordered the breakfast wrap with vegetables. My only critique was I would've wanted more vegetables and less of the potatoes. Other than that, the breakfast wrap was solid. It was flavorful, well seasoned, and satisfying. I also got the strawberry mousse dome to save for later. It had an amazing strawberry flavor, but it was too sweet for me.

Visited one Friday during lunch for a Yelp event and enjoyed the Classic Breakfast with eggs, bacon, potatoes and a biscuit. The plate did not disappoint as I sat and enjoy my breakfast while finishing up some last minute work. I purchased some freshly squeezed satsuma juice and two petit fours to take along with my complimentary cupcake. Let me just say, those petit fours were the best from a bakery I have ever had. I am not a sweets fan, but these had just the right amount of sweetness, they were moist and I loved the size of them. This is a great spot to come grab lunch and finish up some work, or catch up with friends. There is plenty seating inside, as well as some seating outside. Located downtown, there is only street parking, but if you are in the area, stop in for a sweet treat.

This place is a true gem. It is located conveniently in the Warehouse District, which is walking distance to the central business district or even the French quarter if you're motivated. Very safe area. The breakfast is absolutely amazing! I was first introduced to this place through a Yelp Event, and knew I had to come back. I got the classic breakfast with toast, sausage, and Gouda cheese in my grits. The toast is made in house and it's AMAZING. Get the Gouda cheese in the grits, TRUST ME! Then I got the Nutella muffin and omg it was absolutely perfect! It was well balanced and not overly sweet. Allow them to warm it because it makes the outside nice and crispy and the perfect muffin, honestly. You order your meal and pay for it right away, and if you dine in, they will call your name to get the meal. I love this style of service because it makes it quick if you need to be in and out. The inside is nice and spacious and perfect for groups, or if you are by yourself they have barstool window seating or some barstool seats at the counter. The inside is versatile enough to accommodate anyone honestly. They also have 2-3 tables outside if you want to dine outside. I met Avery, who is the operations manager for this business. This is her family's business and that absolutely warms my heart. I love supporting local businesses! This place is great all around and will definitely look to buy a cake from here!

The barista serves high-quality coffee and he's been there for years. The owner started this business from scratch around 20 years ago, and she does a phenomenal job, delivering all her cakes personally. The staff are always cheerful andfriendly. The breakfast items are tasty and healthy. And there is ice cream made by creole creamery and the chocolates are divine. And they have free wifi!

Absolutely phenomenal experience. Ordered a simple wedding cake and pastry platter for my daughter's elopement. Everyone raved about the cake and pastries. Where else can you get a simple wedding cake for $80??? They exceeded all expectations. I would 100% recommend and I will be back!!!

King cakes are still getting smaller by the year (but taste great), and the service has started to get pretty bad too.

Luckily they were so nice to us when we arrived and said they didn't even realize it was almost closing time. We got a salted caramel cupcake which was delicious, a regular brownie which was the star of everything, insanely moist and just amazingly delicious. The cake balls weren't very special but not horrible. The aesthetic of the place is nice, the workers were nice and the desserts were great. Definitely will have to stop by again before leaving NOLA.

The interior is bright, inviting, and full of beautifully displayed sweets that honestly made it so hard to choose. There were so many options that I got a little overwhelmed... and somehow ended up going with the simplest thing on the menu a chocolate chip cookie I know, I know. But honestly? No regrets. I loved that they shape their cookies like little scooped dough balls so you can tell they're fresh and made with care. It had that soft, bakery-style feel that I'm always looking for. I also got the carrot cake latte. It was good and I appreciated that I could actually taste the coffee, which is a big plus for me. But if I'm being honest it didn't really give carrot cake. It wasn't as sweet or spiced as I expected. Would I get it again? Probably not. But I didn't dislike it either it just didn't wow me. One thing I really loved was the service and atmosphere. They greeted me straight from the kitchen, which felt super warm and welcoming. There's also plenty of seating making it a great spot to hang out, catch up with a friend or just enjoy a quiet moment with a coffee. Even though my order was simple, I left feeling excited to come back. There's still so much I want to try. I also think their coffee itself is really good, I just need to find the right drink for me. Overall, Batter is definitely a spot I'll be returning to. Cute, creative, and full of potential, I just know I'm going to find my go-to order soon.
