Eh. I got the job done .. it took Me a while. The place is ok , the guy who works there is not friendly and I'm sure he sees a lot of nonsense - but I'm not one of the nonsense people- it's clean and quite a few of the machines don't work or need service. This was the best laundry mat in Benecia, CA the owners are very kind, family owned, and its clean however the price is toooooo much now .25 for 3 mins for the dryer that doesn't get hot enough so you end up paying about $5 to dry one load the washers are too expensive now at 10.50 a wash so you can imagine if you budget $40 for your wash how it ends up being $100+ for 6 loads. I was not satisfied with my washing experience for the first time in 15 years today as they have put the prices up but the quality of drying and washing decreased. I then Moved my clothes to another washer and it also was broken, leaving my clothes soapy . Sadly I didn't realize they were still soapy til an HOUR LATER after drying. Now i have to take everything to another laundromat to rinse the soap out so I wasted $15 and 90 MINUTES HERE. Never will I set foot in there again. More dud than suds. As stated in other reviews, very pricey, and you don't get what you paid for. At least three dryers had clothes in them with out of order signs. A dryer I used did not get hot. Spent $2.50 (@ .25 for 3 minutes) for damp clothes. Also, it was difficult finding a washing machine that didn't smell. Had to go to Raley's to purchase the Lysol Sanitizer to add to my load to feel halfway comfortable using the machines. Very disappointed. The laundromat is in a strip mall with a Starbucks next door. This has to be one of the nicest laundromats I have ever been too. Like extremely clean. My washer and dryer couldn't handle my mattress topper and had a huge wet mess on my hands. Lucky for me the owner's son was there. He allowed me to just spin my topper and then use the dryer. Was there for less than an hour. This place overcharges. A decent amount of the dryers are continuously out of order. The ones that are in order, don't dry first shit. there's no bathroom. There's no hot water if you want to spot wash a stain. The hours aren't consistent. Apparently on Wednesdays they don't open till nine. I don't understand if all you have to do is unlock the doors, why can't you just open up at the same time every day? I do not recommend this place. read more

I've been coming here for a while now and a few months ago had an entire load of clothes ruined by a machine that had some kind of ink or oil in it. My clothes were ruined. I notified the owner who simply apologized. No offer to refund my money or replace my damaged clothing,... nothing. I was disgusted but figured maybe the guy just forgot so I tried to let it go. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when one of the change machines ate a ten dollar bill but gave no coins back. I wrote a note to the owner but it was completely ignored. That's straight theft. Add the previous property destruction and now I'm ticked. I'm considering filing a lawsuit now. I don't recommend this business. Our heating element in our dryer went out and in a pinch ran down to this laundry mat to get our clothes dried! They closed at 9, and let us stay late (past 10, actually) till all of our clothes were fully dried! The nice young man that was cleaning while we finished drying our clothes was really working hard at keeping this place nice and clean! This is the worst laundromat I've experienced. AVOID "Washer #1 & #2" Washer #1: Chose COLD water, instead; EXTRA Hot water came out. (**So hot, it took the bottom soles off the shoes itself**) Washer #2: Had to put extra 4 quarters, because the machine kept saying "ERR" after quarters were inserted. Better yet, AVOID this hell-hole if you don't need to come. I only came because I didn't know the owner(s) are so negligence and because it's in Benicia (my humble mistake). These machines are in such bad shape, I'm surprised the place is still in business. I don't normally like to post anything negative, but this is unacceptable. Moved to Benicia from Vallejo three weeks ago. Been here twice now. The first time was ok. The place is super run down and one side which I'm guessing should be the waiting area is full of broken down washers. Many of the washers and dryers are out of order. This past Sunday, it was a dangerous mess. The floor was soaked from a leaking machine. And my machine held my linens hostage for almost two hours. It was stuck on 11 minutes forever. Tried the one number listed (very small) on the "office" door, went straight to voice mail. My boyfriend tried to call other ones and no help. Finally it error-ed out and we got our SOAKING WET stuff out. Had to pay $9 to rewash it. Another girl there said she's never seen anyone who works there actually in the place. Pretty sad that I have to go to Vallejo to find a better laundromat. I'm sure it only stays in business because there are no other options in Benicia. Very sad. read more

This is where I wash my house rugs, sleeping bags and bulky comforters which couldn't fit in my own home washer and dryer. Pretty clean but waiting area is small and limited. I usually wait in my car or at Starbucks. Several washers and dryers have "out of service" tags on them whenever I come. But I still manage to do all my 2-3 loads all at the same time. Laundromat is conveniently located to a nice variety of stores nearby. Only one I know of in town. Does what I need. Can't complain. read more

Change machine was working, only a couple out of order machines with tags on them. None of the machines ate my money. Sanitizer available for use with multiple trash bins that weren't overfilling. I reviewed this laundromat once before in 2014, when it was better. In my opinion, it has gone downhill. They replaced the washing machines with smaller machines. I washed three towels in one of them and I think that was a strain on the machine. It cost $3 to use those smaller machines, too. And yes, there is an area near the waiting area where the old machines are stored, so you can see how much bigger the old machines were. Good luck if you decide to wash your laundry here. I feel somewhat bad for Benicia as this is the only laundromat in Benicia. You are better off going to Vallejo or somewhere else. I have been to plenty of laundromats in my time so I've got a good idea of what consist of a good laundromat and a bad one. Cleanliness - Rates 3 of 5 This place is fairly clean. There are only two short benches to sit on, so if those are taken, you are left standing or have to go to Starbucks around the corner. Reliability - Rates 1 of 5 Machines (dryers and washer) are broken. Unfortunately, this place does not test their machines. They let their customers discover whether they are working or not. Unfortunately, this process causes the customers to lose money as you need to deposit quarters only to find out the machine does not work. Typically occurs with the Dryers. Sometimes you will put quarters in, hold down the START button and find that either 1. the dryer tumbles, but no heat (worse) or 2. dryer heats, but does not tumble or 3. neither works. I wish they would test their machines rather than rely on their customers to do it for them. Information - Rates 1 of 5 Dryers There are no instructions or information regarding how many minutes of drying time you get per quarter. You can ask people and I've heard differing answers. A worker actually told me 6 minutes/quarter, which in my opinion is low. At least 7 minutes/quarter is what I've seen or more. Also, the dryers require that you press and HOLD the start button to ensure the machine tumbles. Another problem with the dryers is that there is no timer to let you know how much time is remaining. Again, this just shows how OLD these units are. You'll need to use a timer or the one of your iphone to keep track when the last set of clothes is dried. Washers These washers are very old. Newer washers start operating as soon as the required amount of money is deposited. These are the older kinds where once you deposit all your money, you still need to press START to actually start up the machine. I saw one lady make the mistake of popping all her quarters in there and walking away - assuming the machines would start as soon as the last coin was dropped. Another problem is inconsistent time. I've had 4 machines with the same exact settings and they are varied in time from 29 to 27 minutes total wash time. Maybe they weight sensing washers, but given their age - that's really unlikely and - weight sensing?? There are no laundromats I know of that spend that extra money for something like that - that feature is something more for residential washers. Out of Service Tags Should you discover a non-functioning unit after dropping some coins, there are tags with pens to at least attempt to get your money back. The tag asks for your name, phone, amount of money you lost and to place this tag in an INBOX. However, there is no inbox to be found. You could slip it under the door in hopes that someone will find it - but then again, technically, you did not put it in the non-existent INBOX so good luck whether you get your money back. Another problem is that the out of service tag is not placed on the machine, but it requests you place it in some unknown INBOX. Therefore, there are no instructions or way to adhere (as in tape) a tag that says the machine is broken. So, the next poor sap will deposit some coins and discover that same machine is broken. This is just my opinion, but I believe what is going on here is that the owner is betting the customer will simply eat the loss in quarters and move on to another machine. I could be wrong, but it sure seems to point that way. Overall - Rates 1of 5 Overally, this is not a very well maintained or operating laundromat. Many of the machines are broken and you're lucky if they are tagged out for repair. Unforetunately, this is the only laundromat in town so unless you're willing to travel (which I highly recommend), you're stuck with what this place has to offer. There is a change machine that accepts $20. There is a store next door should you need extra detergent, bleach or fabric softener. There is no WiFi at this location, but you can walk around the corner and borrow Starbuck's Wifi provided you are an ATT wireless customer - then its free. If you're not an ATT wireless customer, you're out of luck. I would suggest you try elsewhere to get your laundry cleaned. read more

I wish I could say that this laundromat is ok, it being the only one we have in Benicia. But when it is a hot summer day and there's no AC, and it smells awful either from lack of cleanliness or the hot day itself, I have to say it isn't ok at all. There was this odor of urine or methane that permeated the place today and there were wasps coming into the business due to the doors being open. And I am disappointed to see the machine graveyard was still there taking up a large portion of the waiting area. I feel depressed just from being in there, it just feels like whoever runs it doesn't care. Also yelp says there is Free Wifi. This is a mistake. There is no Wifi that I am aware of unless you count Starbucks. read more

I honestly wish I didn't even have to give one star to this sad joke of a laundromat. It's unfortunate that this is the only one in Benicia. For the love of God, fix or replace these ancient machines!!! Most of the machines simply eat your quarters with a 50/50 chance your clothes will make it thru the last spin cycle. But chances are you will have to rewash at least one load that ends up being soaking wet once the machine ends the entire washing. Or you could choose to try and dry the load and put ridiculous amounts of quarters and pray you get a dryer that actually heats. If you use the "Land Before Time" dryers you also need to make sure one of them doesn't end up burning your clothes. If you can go anywhere else I highly encourage you to spend your money and time go elsewhere to do your laundry. This place is awful and the owner does not give a crap because it's the only one in town. For such a nice town this business is a complete embarrassment and absolute headache. read more

I don't know about these other reviews. I'm a laundrymat rookie, so I don't know what other place are like. I go during midday on work days, and there's always plenty of machines. I usually do four loads at once when I visit and never had problems with there not being enough machines. The quarter machines have always been able to change $20 for me, and I've never stumbled across a machine not working that didn't have a sign. The dryers do have signs over them saying how long their cycles for and the brand new silver ones on the right have timers. I usually need 2-3 cycles to get a load dry. I'm sure this isn't the cheapest place but I think it's decent. Located in a shopping center with Raley's, starbucks, burger king, and jamba juice, it's easy to kill time. I usually just sit in my car and read twitter till my iphone alarm goes off. I did check out a laundrymat in Vallejo. Not sure if it was cheaper but it was scarier so I'm happy to hit Suds n Duds! read more

Broken machines abound. The dryers leave a strange smell on your clothing. A small printed form is provided to report when a machine has taken your money but there is no actual way to recoup your losses. There is no person available or phone number to call and it is impossible to identify who even owns or operates this business. It is the only coin OP laundry available in the entire city, which is why I continue to use it, but so far I have been robbed of close to $15 by these shysters.
