"Dud" covers it! Rude worker yells at customers. Dirty floors ( large clumps of hair on the floor). Tried to speak to owner to no avail. The worker was a bully who threatened to call the law/ security because I redirected her obnoxious attitude to the filthy floor. read more

Nothing fancy about this spot, I gave it five stars because it was clean and the staff appeared to be nice, hard working people. If I ever am in need of a quick wash and dry I will definitely be returning. read more

First time using this place and it had a lot of washers and dryers to use. Machines were clean and easy to use. The money exchange machine was great if you didn't bring enough quarters, they also have a detergent vending machine if you forget yours. The lady that worked there was very helpful, I'd recommended this place to do your laundry! read more

Never seen anything at a laundromat like this lady screaming at people. Came at someone for using certain washing machines around 6pm... No signs said not to go there to the right of the laundromat. Left side was closed off but not the right where the customer was minding her business, doing what she thought was fine. And when I asked when they closed she lied about closing time. Yelled to herself bout haoles, cleaning, how she's been here for a year and really made everyone feel super uncomfortable. Acknowledged she would get a complaint and said she didn't care. This was the most asinine customer service I've seen and I've seen a lot... Never comin here again if it's so bad to use the place 3 1/2 hours before close. This whole situation could have been dealt with 100% better and it left me wondering why she even works here if she's such a disgruntled employee. read more

worst laundry mat ever. the place stinks. the washers smells like animals. and the customer service is lacking. please tell me what laundry mat you go to is not able to give you change? I asked her to break a 50 dollar bill or give me 50 dollars in quarters and she was like I don't have change.. WTH?! She then tells me to go to ace hardware to get change.. I asked her if they're going to do that without me purchasing something - her response is probably not.. Not a bad laundromat but it always smells like cigarettes. Not ideal if your trying to clean clothes. They have fans pulling the air from the front out the back so it just takes the cigarette smoke from out front and it fills the landromat to push it out back. Even the employees stand in front of the doors smoking. Might as well just smoke inside. It's nasty and makes me want to find another laundromat read more

Lost my reoccurring business today. Lady said she wouldn't give me two rolls of quarters. That I need to purchase all $20 at the machine. Didn't plan on using $20 in quarters and didn't want to manage $20 in quarters in my hands with multiple loads of laundry. Too lazy to want to roll quarters? Was even rude about it when told me no. Morning worker is very rude, And not helpful at all. Asked for change for a $20, requested two $10.00 she gave me a bunch of $1.00 to insert in the machine to make quarters. Also left a jacket back the last time i was here, I asked if she could check if it was behind the counter she took a glance and said it's not here. Half of the time she was on the phone and complaining about her back... no personality no costumer service. read more

Convenient location for those near Keaau with friendly afternoon staff. However, no conveniences like a bathroom, air conditioning, wifi, pay cards (must use/get coins). The tables out front are within range of nearby stores wifi though. read more

For those of us who do not have a washer and dryer of our very own, it is a regular burden to have clean clothing and linens. We need to endure packing up tens of pounds of reeking fabrics and sit in humid and noisy spaces full of other unfortunate souls that suffer the same plight. Suds'n Duds eases the pain of this dreaded chore. The Appliances. The washers and dryers are plentiful. I've never had an issue waiting for machines. The machines are well maintained and run efficiently. I also understand Suds'n Duds are updating their machines to newer and better models that hold more clothes, run faster and wash/dry better. They also have a sitting area, arcade games and vending machines if you must bring along your impatient children. The Atmosphere. I tend to be a shut in and often avoid crowed, noisy places. I work in a loud, demanding and stressful environment, the last thing I want to do is spend the rest of the day sweating to the sound of unattended children. Sud's n Duds never seems overcrowded or chaotic. The area is open, well ventilated and clean. There are enough machines to go around and the limited space in the laundromat is used well. The outside area of the laundromat is also equipped with benches. The location. This is probably the best feature of this laundromat. It is conveniently located in the Keaau Town Center. I live in Hilo but make the journey out here to wash my clothes. During the same outing I can get my grocery shopping done at Foodland, browse Ace Hardware or grab a snack at Coffee Bean and Tea. This shopping center also has a large parking lot. The Service. The attendants are polite and well stocked with supplies and quarters. The staff are constantly cleaning the aisles and are available if there is trouble with a machine. Sud's N Duds also offers laundry service that includes wash, dry and fold by the pound. The price is $1.25 a pound dry. This means they weigh the clothes after the wash and dry. Heavily soiled or wet clothing does not affect the price! Normally the turn around time for clothing washed this way is 2-3 hours. The quality of this service is excellent. The price. The prices are pretty standard. Although I find the wash/dry/fold service to be more then reasonable. I don't purchase the soaps or dryer sheets as you can get those in consumer sizes at Foodland a few doors down. I am a strong supporter of locally owned businesses that are done right. Suds' N Duds Keaau caters to the Puna community in providing quality and convenience for your washing and drying needs. read more

This place is ok I guess, kinda on the higher side, but I'm in Hawaii right? I guess my biggest beef, is the Hawaiian woman inside running it. Maybe because I'm a Haole, but she is just extra rude to me, and a hypocrite. Twice now I accidentally walked in without my ritualistic shame muzzle on, and she asked me to put it on in the most polite way lol. Yeah right... then she goes to start talking to her friends and family that are hanging out there, and she takes hers off to talk to them. Last time I was there, she had some young girl, maybe her daughter hanging out there, with no mask on, while she preceded to lecture me about mine. Clean and well-maintained laundromat, with everything you expect and need.

I went in there with a black eye. The employee in charge, Kathy, was having a conversation with another employee from a different facility, who asked what happened to my eye. I said I fell. Whereupon Kathy put her forehead on her hand and laughed, shaking her head and said, "I don't even..." I got the impression she thought I was lying about having been battered. I am an evacuee; I went in there with a voucher; she complained vociferously to the other employee that she her superior to whom she referred to as "She," had not told her about the voucher procedures. I am writing this because it is not about me... it's about every battered woman out there. And yes, I did really fall on the sidewalk at the shelter. read more

This place is clean and very well run. Change, soap & machines available. And a human being around too!!! Excellent experience.

What can I say? It's a nice place to do laundry. I like that it's in a shopping center, between cycles I can go grab some groceries, or lunch next door, get some hardware at Ace, or even a coffee now at the new coffee place. I also prefer this one over the one in Pahoa, it's bigger and more spacious. Plenty room to fold clothes, cute little tables in front. VERY CLEAN. Nice staff working there too. If you have to do laundry go early, they tend to get busy in the afternoon, never go on a weekend. Machines do get filled up fast, but I notice it comes in waves.. it'll be packed, then nobody in there.. cool spot to clean your duds. read more

My last visit here was actually good. Although I wasn't washing my clothes it was nice to see some change and a cleaner looking business. The customer service has much improved and new machines. I may just start coming back here. read more

The staff here is rude and they act like you are totally putting them out when their machines act up. They don't have a change machine so you have to ask for quarters but don't expect them to stop talking on their cell phones while they count your quarters out for you. read more

I went there because my dryer broke down and it was close to home. Place is clean but the woman that works there was very rude, no personality and seems to hate her job. She constantly complained under her breath but when confronted coward away. I recommend Laundry Express in Hilo town. I rather drive 10 miles away oppose to 1 mile for a much more pleasant place to do my laundry. read more
