He's extremely patient, takes the time to really listen, and is thoughtful in how he responds to your needs rather than rushing the process. I came into therapy knowing I had a lot of healing to do, and Michael met me exactly where I was. His calm presence and genuine care made it easier to open up and work through things at my own pace. Each session felt intentional, supportive, and grounding. If you're looking for a therapist who truly listens, respects your journey, and supports real healing, I highly recommend Michael.

I've been to highly regarded therapists who spread out meetings for months, consuming unnecessary time and investment. His superpower is that he epitomized complete altruism with laser sharp discernment and focused attention that facilitated deep healing of emotional wounds so buried I didn't even know they existed. He also leaves the door open for further growth and healing without feeling locked into a contractual relationship. Honestly he should patent his Method for all coaches to follow! I give him the highest possible rating and encourage others to not hesitate reaching out to him.

I would not recommend Patricia Chan to anyone. My family hired Patricia to provide both in person…read moreand online therapy sessions - her services were unprofessional and biased. For insight on this, as well as to how she responds to criticism, take a look at how she responds to negative reviews on Yelp. She routinely hides behind her "Board of Directors" when it comes to any complaint. She commonly responds to concerns with statements like, "all decisions are made by the board" and "I have to ask the board" - however, public records show that she's the only director. It was a struggle to obtain any kind of billing records from her and her team as they were extremely unhelpful and uncommunicative. She was, however, happy to take almost $7000 from us. My family had to obtain therapy from a different, more reputable therapist because of the trauma went through with Patricia Chan. We considered reporting her but decided we wanted to wash our hands clean of the trauma and move forward with healing instead. If you're considering her services, please do your research and find a therapist with the right credentials for your individual situation. Understanding the differences between LCSW, LMFT and PsyD will be very helpful. UPDATE: I had photos of my receipts and her business name filing showing her being the only director. Patricia Chan got my photos deleted and responded to this review (in the third person - in all other responses, she responds directly). She's also using the "this person was never a client" excuse and (passive aggressively) claiming defamation. Again, she provided therapy for members of my family - not me directly - that I paid for. There are many situations where this might happen, including but not limited to: a parent obtaining therapy for a child; a child obtaining therapy for an elderly parent; etc. But I'm not surprised she used that excuse, as that was the same excuse that was made when attempting to resolve this issue at the time of conflict. There's also a difference between defamation and sharing a negative experience regarding interactions with a business - this is my honest review of my family's experience with Patricia Chan/LiveWell Therapy. I'm happy to provide copies of my receipts and emails (me communicating directly with Chan) for anyone else having issues with this business - feel free to message me. Additionally, anyone can do a public business search for LiveWell Therapy on: https://bizfileonline.sos.ca.gov/search/business Click on "View History" and to see the Statement of Information, showing Patrica Chan as the only person on the Board of Directors. She also regularly uses the PsyD(c) designation in her emails and billing statements. According to the American Psychological Association, the "(c)" designation is misleading and potentially unethical. See: https://www.apa.org/monitor/2016/09/misuse-phd

Lisa helped create a safe and comfortable environment for us to openly talk about ourselves, our relationship and our goals. She provided many different worksheets and tools to help facilitate honest discussions and conversations about potential barriers. If any questions or disagreements arose, we discussed them with her and she helped provide tips for better communication to create a resolution. Overall, my fiancé and I feel that we grew much closer and our connection became ever deeper through premarital counseling which is exactly what we were looking for. Lisa is the perfect person to help any couple improve their connection, communication and problem solving skills!

I have to admit, I was probably in a bit of a crisis mindset since our issues were bubbled at the surface, so it felt like the session was unorganized, which I know I contributed to that. She didn't get any information prior to our session, so it felt like she went in blind and didn't have any frame or reference to what help we needed. At the end of the first session, she gave us "homework" which I think would have been tremendously helpful had it been done prior to the first session so that my husband and I could organize our thoughts, and she could have some indication of the help we needed so that she could be most effective in the session. They don't take insurance, so paying cash for a session, you really want to be able to make the most of the money spent. I think bc of her unfamiliarity with our situation, she made some suggestions that were obvious and things we had already done. I also felt like she made other suggestions for things that were not issues we were seeking services for. My husband and I both felt like it wasn't the most effective session, but that is how therapy works! You keep "shopping" until you find someone you feel best with. I will say she was patient and calm, and did allow me to speak. She made sure to include all parties and really was solution focused. I think she can be very effective for some, I just think it was my poor demeanor related to the need for therapy that marred our visit.
