I was treated rudely by staff here several years ago, so I use Kate's when purchasing any nutritional health supplies, but today I parked in the furthest parking spot from the store, but close to a neighboring business, with very limited parking, where I needed to drop off a payment. I have some physical limitations now that make mobility difficult, and which are visibly obvious. I was almost to the business, when a woman from Sue's yelled across the parking lot that I couldn't park there, if I was doing business with the monument company. I explained that I just needed to drop off a payment. She said I needed to move. There were 2 other vehicles besides mine in a parking lot that easily had 25+ available spaces, and my car was furthest from the store. I "thanked" her for her kindness, and she responded with "it's the law. You're breaking the law." To me, this says a lot about the mentality of the employee and possibly this business - and only reinforces that my decision years ago to only shop at Kate's was the right one.​ read more

I am fairly new to the herbal medicine world. I had a list and had done considerable research before I arrived. I was greeted, but left to myself for the most part. When I had questions the lady was very helpful and answered my questions. I will definitely be returning here. Called in to check on a product. Said they weren't sure they had it because they weren't on that side of the store. Which I could understand. Then was told they had it and I asked for a price. The response I got "we don't give prices out over the phone" so I said ok bye and hung up. They just lost a sale on that. People need to know prices before going from one side of town to other to decide what's better. Now I know not to go here anymore. read more

Small store with basic necessities. Friendly folks. Many items "on sale." Empty spaces on shelves as though the store is too large for their inventory. Large selection of young living oils. I have never seen them sold in a store. She must be a distributor. Soaps shampoos lotions, nuts and supplements. If you ask they will help you! read more

Very rude customer service. I called to ask if they carried a certain product and was told they could order it from elsewhere. I then tried to find out if there would be a way for me to order it online myself, and the lady got very rude with me. I wasn't trying to order through a different website and make them lose business, but to see if there was a way I could get it through a company they order from and still give them the credit - I wasn't sure if that would even be an option, but I just was curious. The store is a decent drive from my house, so having it shipped to me would have been more convenient. It was a simple question that she misinterpreted, and her attitude was unprofessional and uncalled-for. A couple hours later, they proceeded to call me at home from multiple numbers and go off on me for leaving a negative review about my experience. When I tried to explain that I did not appreciate how I was talked to, the woman on the phone actually hung up on me. SHE was the one who called ME! First of all, I have never in my life heard of a company calling people at their home numbers like this; however, if she had simply called to apologize, I would have considered giving them a higher rating for making things right, but that was plain and simply unprofessional. The other day, I went in asking for iron supplement for my kid, the staff recommended the best they had, it was a $30 bottle. I told them I would ask the doctor about the product and if it wasn't the correct one I would bring it back, and they said sure! I asked the doctor and she said that it wasn't enough iron in the "iron supplement" for my daughter. In order for her to get the right dose she would have to drink at least half the bottle!! So I went back to returned it, I had misplaced my receipt and I told them I don't need money back just store credit! And they said that without a receipt they would not offer any return or store credit!! Even thought it was the same lady that sold me and recommended the product. So now I'm stuck with a useless supplement! Recommended by one of their "knowledgeable" staff!! Don't waste your money in this place, go over to Kate's in the other side of town, they are way more knowledgable and with superior customer service!! read more

I was excited to check out this health food store in Harrisonburg. Lots of vitamins to choose from and organic products. I purchased a $2 probiotic drink to enjoy on my ride home. Sadly, when I looked at the label, the drink had a shelf life that expired 44 days ago! Needless to say, I did not enjoy the drink and am out $2. read more

I normally live in a metropolitan city so I'm used to a large selection of health food/grocery stores. Thus far during my short stay in this area this is the Best health food store around. Though sometimes it's a little more on the pricey side they have crazy good sales and a whole section that's Always on sale. Sue's is my go to and she's always able to answer my health questions. :) read more

I called to see if they carried Umcka because I was coming down with a bad cold. They did, but the man said he closed at 5. I explained that I could be there by 4:58, and I was. But when I arrived he had already closed up and left. Wtf. So much for caring about your customers. read more

Went in with my 80-year-old aunt to help her get supplements she needed. We went here because my aunt knew her from her local town. The owner herself helped us& swayed us to purchase a different, more expensive item that I originally came in for. I told her that we had an appointment with our holistic doctor the following day and if all of this was OK we would be back for more supplements.After going to her holistic doctor and telling him what we had picked up he said that it was incorrect and would NOT work take it back to Exchange for the product we originally came in for.. When we did this, we did not bring the receipt. Although Sue herself had sold us the product, and only one day had passed and she clearly remembered us she would not give us the full price marked on the shelf. She said it was against your policy and argued for a full 20 minutes after that time she agreed to give us half the price of the product!!!! I want you to give us back what it would be if it was on sale but only for store credit. This was a horrible situation that could've been easily resolved as she is a human being but she insisted she could help us because it would mess up the computer inventory!
