Super fun sporting clays spot! Haven't ventured into Skeet yet (in time!) If you haven't been to a skeet/trap/clays spot before, there are stations set up, with a short walk between each. Each location has a different launch pattern and surrounding woods. Unlike a rifle range, there is no cease-fire, no running for paper targets and no real cleanup (other than just dropping your spent shells into a barrel at each station. You can rent a shotgun at the office and shells are available for purchase, as well. Prices are reasonable, and the gentlemen in the office know what they're talking about. read more

I came here with a friend and did some skeet shooting while visiting NY. My friend is very experienced in the sport and has all the different types of equipment, and he thought it'd be fun for me to try. I have never done it before and I was looking forward to trying it out. I am not sure how much it cost to do the shoot since my friend paid for everything, including the time for the rental and the ammo, but I am sure it was not cheap. My friend gave me some basic safety instructions and tips for shooting and off I went. I saw him go at first. He hardly miss any targets. It's a lot difficult than it looks. The gun is not heavy, but it's difficult to hold it steady and move along with the target. You tell the staff with the trigger when you want the skeet be released in the air before you try to hit it. You got to have good timing and aim to hit the target. I went about half an hour before I hit my first target, and that felt great. This is a nice place to do this sport. The shop on location got everything, including gun rentals, ammo, gears, and equipments it is a well run facility and the staff seemed organized and professional. read more

This could be a nice place, but they don't take care of the equipment, the trap machines don't work.

Great social distancing and covid prevention. They have hand sanitizer at many of the sporting clay stations. Staff also limits the number of people in the store so there was a line outside. read more

Have been coming here for 15+ years with friends, family, and customers. Pains me to even feel this way. I have always enjoyed it but recently that has unfortunately changed. The current employee they have running the register/desk is a complete 0 in helpfulness, manners, competence, and professionalism. One good thing is place truly is a hidden gem if they maintained it properly and they hired property. read more

I was with a buddy shooting sporting clays on their 12 station skeet route last Sunday (1/11/21). I purchased a case of 12 gauge bird shot from the front desk at a crazy price of 96 bucks. We rented a cart to get the whole experience. It was a fun time until we got to station 11 of 12. I was shooting my Winchester SXP 12 gauge and my buddy had 3 different guns he was using. A .410 and 2 other 12 gauge shotguns. One of his guns was a new Blackwater that kept locking up. He kept switch different brands of ammo to see if that was the issue. He messed up. He used buck shot shooting at a clay running on the ground like a rabbit. I had no idea he wasn't allowed to do that, nobody informed me of it when I purchased my ammo there. Nobody said squat to me. We finished at the station and we're in the golf cart ready to go to the last and final station when I heard yelling behind us on the path. Some crazed kid about 6'1 with blonde hair and scrubby bead, about 290 pounds came running up to our cart pointing a loaded double barrel shotgun at us. He was screaming how we almost killed him and his buddy because my friend used buck shot on that last clay and the shot went over his head. He said it's "attempted murder" and he can shoot us right there and it would be justified. We apologized very calmly, and spoke in low tones as not to anger this maniac any further. He screamed how he works there and has been waiting "5 years for an asshole" like my friend to get caught. All the while still pointing the gun at both of us. He reached into the cart, grabbed my friends shotgun and threw it in the dirt behind our cart and snatched the key for the station boxes from him. The gun could have went off when it hit the ground if it was loaded and killed someone. We kept apologizing calmly. This kid was a little "off". You could tell by the way he screamed like a 12 year old and didn't make eye contact and his body language he may have been on the spectrum. He said he worked there, yet when we were escorted out by him and another kid, the man at the front desk kept telling us he didn't know the person we were referring to when we made our complaint. I am a lifetime member of the NRA. I practice safe gun handling and shooting wherever I go. I am not my brothers keeper however. I can not be held responsible for something I had no knowledge of. For that young man to point a loaded shotgun at the both of us and to violently throw a weapon into the ground is the most irresponsible thing a person can do. It endangered everyone. My friend may have been unknowingly breaking a ground rule, but this kid knowingly endangered our lives with his threatening actions. He said he works there and has been there for 5 years. I hold the range responsible for this and I will never visit this dangerous place again. read more

I use to come here 25 years ago to shoot skeet and about a year ago I started shooting sporting clays with my 15 year old son. Although I have no where to compare the sporting clays to, we find it fun and relaxing. Never overly crowded. On occasion 1 of 2 throwers will not work at a station. Really not a big deal. Not many places you can go to enjoy this sport and even if there was I probably wouldn't go else were. The guys in office and running around the course all seem to be good guys. Safety is always there main concern. They offer golf cart rentals. I have never rented one as I bring my own gun stroller and walk the course. I have my own golf/sporting clay cart that I haven't taken there yet but will next season.. read more

There are few public places in NY State that support our sport! This location is open all year and the people that shoot here regularly are friendly and appreciate having the ability to shoot Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays all in one location. The staff is always friendly and when you are ready to upgrade for serious shooting, Hunter Sports in Massapequa carries a wide range of shotguns for each discipline. How many retail stores offer locations to buy, rent, and shoot? I do not know of any in our area! Thanks guys, we appreciate having this range! read more

A few years back, this was a great place to enjoy a day of sporting clays. However, in the last year or so, it has gone severely down hill. I will never return. Let me explain why. My most recent visit was on Sunday, 1.3.16. It seemed that at least half of the sporting stations were closed, and of those that were working, many had issues. The worst part of experiwnce was how overcrowded tne place was. The range operator allowed far too many shooters onto the sporting clays range. Every station had a 15 or 20 minute wait. There were also a few groups of shooters driving around recklessly in carts from station to station, jumping ahead of people, looking for stations with the shortest wait time. It was an absolutely awful experience. I Will never return to this facility. read more

This place is a ton of fun. $7 for a game of 25 skeet. They have skeet, trap and skeet shooting in the woods through a course. They have training courses also. Definitely recommend and I am going back this weekend with a bunch of buddies read more

Hard to find places like this on Long Island, so it is our go-to spot for sporting clays (used to live on LI and now we come in from the city). Basic, but has what it needs. We have only done the clays route so far, but it is fun and has variety (though there is usually at least 1 station that has some sort of issue with it). They seem to be constantly making updates and renovations to stations so that is nice. Good variety between the stations of the angle, speed, etc of the clays. Gun and golf cart rentals do run out (we got the last rental once), so be aware for busy times. Path is definitely walkable though!!! So glad we found this place. read more

Really like this place. This is where I shot a gun for the first time, and since that day I have been back many times. Fair hours, prices are a bit high in my opinion, but not unreasonable. I'll be coming here for years to come. Word of advice, avoid Sundays. Every time I've gone it has been pretty dead, aside from Sundays when it is pretty busy. They offer golf cart rentals if that's what you're into, but with only like a mile of trail you never need one. read more

I've been going here every year for the last 6 years. I've done the skeet shooting but primarily I like to do the sporting clays. When doing the sporting clays, you visit different stations around a huge field. Each station has two launchers that project the clays at different angles, vectors and velocities. It is a lot of fun! I've gone with adult family, my 16 year old daughter and work friends, all a good time. You have the option of renting a 12 or 20 gauge (over and under or semi) or bringing your own. Also, golf carts can be rented which is recommended. I also recommend buying your own target shells as it will be cheaper. For a couple hours for a couple people doing sporting clays, renting their gun and a golf cart, paying for the clays that you use but bringing your own shells, expect to pay around $90- $100. read more

I brought my 12 year old nephew here for a join lesson/shooting. The staff was very friendly and our instructor Tim was fantastic. He was very thorough and patient with us newbies and wanted us to get the most out of the experience. He stayed with us the whole time and took us through the course which was so helpful. I shoot trap here often. I've never played the skeet or sporting clay fields. I'd give them 5 stars if the games were a little cheaper and if they had more supervision out on the field regarding firearm safety. read more
