I've been a loyal customer to Suffolk for a while. But ever since I changed my pointe shoe to Virtisse, they barely have them in stock. I have to wait a very long time to get them. I go through a pair of point shoes every three weeks, they have three weeks to get some in stock but they don't. You're supposed to have shoes in stock that your customers buy, but they don't. I use a soft shank for my shoes, and they never have them in stock, but they have every other type of shank in stock. Now we have to buy from a different dance store. I will say that the fittings for pointe shoes are really nice and efficient. Overall, I wouldn't recommend. read more

we went to a dance boutique that I will not name but have the worst experience and was mean and snotty to my daughter and husband. I brought her here and Hannah was awesome. she was nice, attentive, and fitted my daughter for the right shoe. Everyone we came in contact at the store was so nice and the store is huge, bright and clean. I will only be shopping here going forth. read more

I wouldnt recommend shopping at Suffolk dance wear. Stick to other retailers who allow returns. As we all know dancewear fits differently to depending on styles and if the item wasnt full price you are out of luck and CANNOT return at Suffolk. They have this stipilation at the very bottom of the page in a small font. They hope you don't catch that so they can make money . They do not care about their customers! read more

I live an hour (each way so 2 hour round trip) from Suffolk but I go there because they are the experts in Pointe shoes. A lady (with brown hair and octangle glasses) ,who was very friendly and attentive served us. She bought out a heap of shoes for my daughter to try on. It came down to two pairs/brands and then eventually my daughter chose the pair that was most comfortable for her. I gave the lady my daughters previous pointes and asked her to sew the elastic band and ribbons in the same place. Off she went. I have done this before and it fitted perfectly. My daughter went to Pointe class that night and took her new pointes with her. Her teacher was appalled at the ill fitting shoes. She said they are far too big for my daughter and she pinned them everywhere where they were too big. The dance teacher asked my daughter if the pointe slipped off her feet while she was en pointe at the barr in the shop and my daughter said Yes! The teacher said the pointe should not fall off and the mere fact that they slipped off means they were too big! This is REALLY ANNOYING - You guys are the fit experts. This is what you do for your business yet you can't fit pointe shoes properly (and the lady was VERY quick to say "These are final once you paid for them we cannot take them back".) I had to drive back another hour each way to get them to resew the elastics as they were so big the shoes kept falling off. I don't muck with pointes as I know nothing about them and the fit has to be right and that is why I went back. If you get the lady with the octangle glasses - she is very nice, friendly and helpful BUT she needs more training in fitting pointe shoes! Be warned! I am now sitting with a pair of pointe shoes that are too big for my daughter and I don't have the budget to buy another pair! read more

What an amazing pointe shoe fiting!! I had Ellie who was so incredibly patient and listened to all my needs!! I love getting fitted at Suffolk because I love that's they can sew your shoes for you!! While they have an extensive amount of options of everything dance, the service was subpar. Yes she helped me with my daughter and getting three different shoes - character, non point ballet and tap- when I asked about seeing if my daughter needed a larger size in jazz shoes (we had some from last year) she looked at me and told me that there is a fitting fee if I don't buy them....like what the hell... I would get that comment if I had been there for more than 30 minutes and wasn't already buying three pair of shoes BUT I clearly was getting those shoes plus accessories. I replied, why would you say that to me I clearly am buying shoes. I thought it was unprofessional and targeted. To make it worse we are the only people in the store so it's is not like there was a line out the door. Needless to say, when she offered to get the jazz shoes I told her "nah I am okay" she did not understand that she highly offended me. That said, I only got the shoes none of the $300 of extra. I also will never come back and tell everyone I know about this poor service and experience. I normally don't do reviews but this was so egregious I had to share. They need to realize they aren't the game in town and frankly online makes it easy to avoid actual stores. read more

Everyone that works there has been kind and helpful whenever we are there. My girls have had knowledgable pointe shoe fittings. They have a good variety of shoes for boys and girls/mens/women's dance. I've bought for my son there as well. They have several fitting rooms and a huge variety of brands and choices. Largest dance store I've found between a few states. I do wish they had a pointe shoe discount program but that's not on them. Can order other places for that. read more

Suffolk has practically anything you need for dance class or dance recitals. As soon as I walked in, someone was ready to assist me in finding what I needed. I highly recommend this boutique! We usually go to Sandy's because our dance school partners with them to order the right color for my daughters' company dance teams. Today, I went to Suffolk because my daughter has a dance convention today and I found out this morning she was missing one of her Ballet shoes ‍. Walked into the boutique with my daughter and was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help (always a plus!). The young lady sized my daughter and brought 3 different shoes she thought might work for her. We found a perfect fit and when I inquired about clothes she took her time explaining where my daughter's size was located in the store and the corresponding tag colors so they would be easy to find. Absolutely wonderful experience - I wish I had gotten her name. This boutique is larger than it looks from the outside, clean, and offers lots of variety. I highly recommend this dance boutique and will definitely be back for our dance needs! read more

if you want to know what it feels like to be NOT VALUED as a long time (11 years) customer, you should definitely try Suffolk. after having shopped exclusively here for 11 years and returning only one item in that time frame, I'll admit, I wasn't fully aware that their return policy was 2 weeks. my daughter was given a gift by her meme of a leotard that didn't fit (too low cut) and they would not honor the return since it was last two weeks. the manager, Ellie, was aware of the long-standing customer asking for one exception and she REFUSED. I'll find another store to appreciate my $500-$800 per month!! read more

Lovely store with a huge selection of dancewear. They also have the biggest selection of pointe shoes in the area including Freeds (which can be very hard to find locally). The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful whenever we have visited. read more

Very poor customer service. Drove 2 hour round trip every month or so for long time to buy daughter's ballet flats here. They stopped carrying the brand and we tried to make different brand work. Bought 2 pair so we wouldn't have to make long drive as often. New brand didn't work; but when we tried to return the unused pair, we were told only partial refund is allowed - even though we were specifically told we would get refund if we just returned them unused in the allowed timeframe, which we did. We should have just abandoned them when they stopped carrying the original brand instead of trying to work with them. read more

My daughter has been dancing for many years so I've had the opportunity to go to a number of dance shops. This is by far my favorite place and we drive over an hour to get here. They have a wonderful selection of dance clothing and shoes. Their pointe shoe fitters are top notch. And most importantly the staff has always gone above and beyond to make sure that we get exactly what we need. I'd like to give a special shout out to one person in particular, Elle. I have bought several point shoes from Suffolk. We have received exceptional services from Haven. She is very knowledgeable about the various brands, she ask many questions for better understanding of the customers needs and she knew my daughters ballet director's preferences for shoes. When my daughter decided on a pair she suggested that my daughter send a picture to her ballet director before sewing her shoes. Haven was extremely patient and helpful. Not the place to bring your daughter to get toe shoes if you are a Dad. The young ladies kept passing us by even though we had pulled a tag for a fitting for toe shoes. We had two mom lead girls get taken from the floor to the fitting area ahead of us. This is such a wonderful dance shop. They have a large dollhouse and a table with a tea set for the littles to play with while you shop, so nice when you're lugging your toddler around. We didn't need shoes but the lady doing the shoe fittings had on a princess dress, wore a crown and handed out little wands afterwards. They carry such a large selection for little girls and they carry so many different brands. They had a large selection of Bloch, Capezio, and Mirella which are my personal favorites. I love that their items are color coded on hangers by size. They also have a final sale section for kids and I found so many cute pieces for $10 or $15. I have been to different shops in Dallas, Frisco, Plano and this shop is by far my favorite and has the biggest selection. I can't wait to go back! read more

my ballerina loves this place - and the people.

Have been coming here for a while for the quantity and quality of dance items they have for my daughters competitive dance team. Came in on a Saturday (big mistake) to get new dance shoes, was crazy busy and taking a ticket was the only option. Left and came back Wednesday after school, 2 other girls getting fitted for pointe shoes, sat and waited 15 minutes- next to the girls trying their shoes on, we were glanced at several times by both ladies fitting shoes and not once did they say "we will be with you soon" or anything else for that matter. So we sat- (really needed these shoes and next closest good dance store was Southlake)...for another 10 minutes....without any contact by any of the employees- there were 2 others walking around stocking the store- no other customers were there. I finally inquired about getting help for as long as we had been sitting there without anyone even greeting us and he response " we are busy fitting other customers and will get to you as soon as we can". VERY disappointed. We just left- won't be back again. read more
