What an amazing find in Arena! My husband and I were in the area for one day, touring Taliesin and…read moreseeing a show at APT. In between, we needed to find a place to eat. Lucky for us, pizza night was on Tuesday. This pizza was outstanding! Better than any pizza we had ever had. Delicious crust, toppings that melded together perfectly and with all this deliciousness, we added some cold beer from the bar. The setting was lovely, the band was great and the customers (mostly locals we believe) were friendly and fun. This is a must go-to restaurant when in the area. In fact, I would suggest that anyone heading towards this part of WI, make sure to hit this spot on a Tuesday in the summer! It will be worth the trip!

I don't understand why my first review wasn't liked but here is another ! I was told about this…read moreplace a few years ago and told how great the pizza was. Keep in mind that was from a bunch of country folk who don't share my love of quality food, and to be honest I've been pizza'd to death. On a whim I went here a little over a month ago and I have back every Tue for the last 5 weeks! This is a 5 star dive bar/restaurant that I love! The place is really odd, but the food is great. In the back (as in the middle of their yard) they have a stone, wood fired pizza oven. Think of the coziness of your backyard but bigger with a dozen patio tables widely spaced under mature trees while having someone play live music. There are three tables/station one serving pizza, another meat (steaks, ribs, etc) and the third beer and wine, but no feel of commercialism at all. This has the feel of a perfect personal bbq, or of a family gathering, but serving pizza and I mean great pizza, clearly the best in Wisconsin. You get one size, I would say 16-18", for a mere $10 dollars even. My favorite is the gorgonzola and pear with caramelized onions and walnuts, on a perfect crust (insert Homer Simpson drooling sound). Followed by the sausage mushroom, made with home made sausage and marinated portabella mushrooms. They have quite a list of pizzas to choose from. The wine is $5 a glass and beer is $3.75 and they carry all the  local Wisconsin favorites (Lake Louie, Ale Asylum, Capital, New Glarus). They are not a restaurant for say but a shop, although they are open business hours the pizza is only on Tuesday 4:00pm to 8:00pm. They do other cooking events on odd days, I personally have not attended any of these due to the inconsistency that they take place. The food was so good I will make a consorted effort to attend one of the events. They do have seating inside, but no wait staff. I must mention the place is spotless, one of my pet peeves is the dirtiness of some of the independent establishments and I assure you this well taken care of. I don't think this is a financial endeavor but an act of love. Everyone is friendly and appear to know each other. Although no servers there is an army of people helping prepare food in the kitchen, which you ironically have to walk through the end of to get outside. This place is a come as you are, all are welcome place with great food, great people, and live music. What more could you ask for.... I will see you there
