WHY I WENT HERE: - haven't gotten my eyebrows threaded since BEFORE the SIP order went into effect in March - I typically go to a threading salon in Milpitas nearby my office, but when I messaged them a while back they said they were still closed - WFH today and just in a mood for self-care so I reached out to several places via Yelp messaging and chose this one because of 1) location 2) price (which is $12) 3) although card payments are NOT accepted, cash (which I typically don't have) and Venmo are accepted THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in the Starbucks plaza off Winchester and Magliocco - located in the Pure Sea Nails Beauty Spa & Hair to the right of One Stop Dental THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - purple - clean - lots of natural lighting - as is the new normal during this pandemic, there's COVID related signage at the entrance PROCESS: - make an appointment - face mask required for entrance - when you show up for your appointment you'll indicate your appointment service + time (so the workers know if you're there for the sugaring/threading by Neha Khanna or salon services) - you'll be given hand sanitizer before being directed to seat/station #7 in the left corner where the plastic shielding has been installed to indicate the threading corner vs. the salon stations - as you're seated you're given a SECOND mask (blue disposable surgical-like mask) to don over the one you're already wearing when you entered the establishment - Neha wears a N95 mask and a face shield when performing the threading service; conversation with her flows easily and casually - after providing a mirror for you the client to approve the finished threading service, Neha offers post-threading application of aloe, etc. - after the threading service is complete Neha will ask for your form of payment (cash or Venmo) - if you go with Venmo she will get her phone out for you to scan her QR code - after payment is received for the service(s) rendered Neha provides you with additional hand sanitizer before you leave - upon the client's exit from the establishment Neha gets Clorox wipes to sanitize the threading station CUSTOMER SERVICE: - VERY fast responses and easy to make appointment via Yelp messaging - Neha is very warm, welcoming, and conversational - I'd definitely come back here again! and someday when I do decide to pop my sugaring cherry I'll schedule with Neha read more

This was my FIRST sugaring I ever had and my FIRST bikini line. I do recommend sugaring over waxing for all the reasons you can find online. As I have no other bikini sugaring to compare it too, I don't know how rough and quick they usually are but this was both to me. Maybe they are all like that? I know sugaring involves rolling it back and forth so maybe it just hursts more. There are many other great reviews so in the end my main recommendation is - ask for what you want. Also, Neha, although friendly, did not explain or ask me what kind of bikini sugaring I wanted. I assumed bikini line meant just trimming the triangle shape. Imagine my horror when it was ALL GONE - bald except for fuzz near the labia! I was in shock. She then said "oh you have to ask for a triangle if you just want that." Given that most bikinis cover more than the labia this is ridiculous. I even looked up bikini wax just to see the definition and it says "removes only hair that falls outside the bikini line." Neha brushed that off with "oh I always go more because bikinis have different coverage." Maybe try asking first what MY bikini size and shape is instead of just doing what you want. I'm not working a stripper pole or in carnival! I'm 58 and frankly, I'm a bit worried I won't get enough growth back. (Yes younger gals, that happens after menopause so start planning what hair you want to keep.) I I liked my 1980's style coiffed petite but present TRIANGLE bush! I actually had a really awful and negative experience here. I was looking around for a new esthetician and saw on Neha's website to text her for an appointment. Ok, I did that and after a few exchanges we set up an appointment. Her whole demeanor over text was brusque - she sounded very abrupt, unwelcoming, serious, and short with me, but I brushed it off because I figured she was texting me in between clients and was rushed for time. However, I really got the impression that she was rude and pushy from the start - her communication with me as a potential client wasn't very welcoming or friendly. I do know that many people come across differently from text/email than in person, so I decided to ignore my gut and go to my appointment anyway. When I showed up to my appointment, she was on her phone talking to someone. She didn't acknowledge me or introduce herself, but just grabbed the sanitizer to quirt in my hand while still on her phone. Since I had never been there before, I had absolutely no way of knowing who she was. She could have been the owner who would have directed me to Neha's room. She could have been a salon worker who could have told me that Neha would be right with me. Instead, I was standing there with Neha on the phone, ignoring me and not introducing herself, and it was very uncomfortable to not know if she was the person who I made my appointment with. After she hung up, she took my temperature silently. Again, no formal introduction, or "Hi, welcome to my salon." Just awkward silence. How did she even know that I was there to see HER and not another salon worker? So, since I still didn't know who she was and we never officially "met," I introduced myself warmly saying my name and without even looking at me, Neha uttered in a bored tone, "Hi, how are you." It wasn't even a question. She immediately demanded to see my vaccination card, which thankfully I had in my wallet. But, I thought that she should have told me ahead of time to bring it, just in case I didn't have it with me. She didn't offer to show me hers, but somehow it was a requirement for me to show her mine? She then asked me how I was able to get my first vaccine so early (early February 2021). I thought that was rude.....many people who have underlying health conditions qualified for an early vaccine, and I wasn't about to disclose private, personal health information with a stranger. She walked me to her room in back, and said, "So, what waxing are we doing today?" I had literally texted her exactly what I wanted, so I thought that it was kind of odd that she didn't care to look at her "notes" before I came in, or otherwise bother to remember. Throughout the wax, she would hold up a mirror to ask me what I thought and to check the area, but she was staring right at me and standing so close, so it was a little hard to do that comfortably with her watching me intently. When it was over, I paid her and said thank you and she opened the door (yelled at me for opening the doorknob first - I didn't know that I wasn't supposed due, due to sanitizing), and immediately started talking to her next client scheduled to come in. I tried to say bye to Neha and wish her a good day, and she ignored me pausing only to say "bye" and that was it. It was so rushed and I felt like just a replaceable appointment, not a possible long-term client. Not that I expected her to bend over backwards saying goodbye, but a smile and a "Nice to meet you, hope to see you soon!" before you take your next client goes a long way. I just felt from start to finish that I was just money to her and an appointment and nothing else. The abruptness and seriousness in her texts carried over to her in-person personality, and it just wasn't a pleasant experience. I will say that she does a great job of sanitizing her area/room and taking precautions with clients who come in, so that was good! read more

Neha is AMAZING! I have gotten a full brazilian sugaring here a couple times and i am never going back to waxing. Her studio is very clean, cute, and comfortable. During my first sugaring here she was very informative about the benefits of sugaring and how it is better for you than waxing. It is way less painful than waxing and the results are so much better. I was a newbie to sugar waxing and a newbie to this place. I wanted to see if it would reduce my ingrown hairs under my armpits time will tell however this place was very good. Overall I liked this place and the sugar experience. The room wasn't the nicest but my technician was, I didn't get her name she didn't have a name tag but she was very young and friendly. She was educated and knowledgeable about the sugar technique and was quick. I got my armpits done and I was out in less than 10 minutes she even gave me tips on how to prepare my armpit for my next visit, which I thought was helpful. She was very cautious cleaning everything and sanitizing everything. No business is perfect and so I like giving the good and bad on my reviews bullet point form so you can skim it. Fyi my bads are based more on my preference more than anything, so they might not be bad for you all. The Good - Price is clear online, There is no pressure to tip In fact I don't think she even expects it. Which is good because she only excepts cash so stop by bank before you head over there. - the sugar wax wasn't hot, It was warm. Which was new to me because when I get waxed doesn't matter how much my technician blows that stick it's burning my skin. - it was practically painless for me, however I don't really have another experience to compare to except regular waxing my brows and my box . And for me compared to those areas this was dramatically less painful. The Bad - I didn't like the aesthetics of the place. I've been to waxing places that have such a relaxing vibe with candles and the rooms are beautiful with flowers and paintings on the wall. This shop room was giving me "back alley procedure vibes". Again I'm a little biased because I've been to some really nice waxing places, however those places pretty much focus on just waxing. This shop does many things. It looks like they do manicures pedicures eyelashes and so on. So it's a beauty kind of shop with a waxing station in the back. - you may find it slightly hard to get an appointment, she recommends making an appointment 2 weeks out before you want to come in. So it's not something you can just jump and do the day that you want to do it which I didn't like. - accepts Cash Only..... - she recommended prepping the area you want done 3 days before waxing appointment. Meaning no deodorant/ oils/ creams ect before appointment to get the best results. - she recommends waiting 24 to 48 hours before using deodorant afterwards. - the sugar is a little bit messy. You may find some wax on clothes, but overall I think it's worth it. read more

After much consideration I decided to move forward with this review. I hope the feedback is taken into consideration to improve the business. Location: Plenty of parking but there is no sign to indicate where the business entrance is at. The business is a room inside a nail salon. Ambiance: The bathroom that is shared with the nail salon is clean. The room where the wax service is provided is tiny. The bed is against the wall and there's a half attempt or unfinished attempt to create a nice ambiance. Service: I got a Brazilian and it was more painful and uncomfortable than what I'm used to. The rag I was given to cover up was a white hand towel with some wax bits on it. I did not use it. The door opens to the main nail service area, it's not private. The business owner was not wearing gloves and had a rough delivery in the most sensitive areas. She finished the service by roughly wiping the area down with a wet rag. I am not confrontational and therefore was uncomfortable providing feedback when she asked for it. But I don't want anyone else being mislead by the 4.5 stars on yelp. Not deserving for the Brazilian. Lesson? I got what I paid for. read more

Fianlly I can get my brows done again. I use to go to a wonderful salon that I was super loyal too but since covid happen they been closed since March. In the Beginning stages of covid I looked up a lot of places but they were either closed or the reviews drove me away. At one point I just gave up and let them grow. It got to the point where I accepted my bushy brows but for some reason I randomly wanted to get them done again. I did some homework about waxing vs. sugaring so I wanted to give sugaring a try. Underarm waxing isn't as effective as I'd like and all of the hair is not removed.
