Chicken dinner included cake. Add beverage, under $15. Sauce on the side as requested .

Surprising and varied menu. I opted for 'chicken dinner' lunch- 3 smallish but tender, juicy, flavorful fried chicken strips, side choices of macaroni and cheese (like a crumbed, crumbly au gratin- not creamy, though delicious and moist), and tender-crisp broccoli. Topped off with a lemony pound cake slice. under $15. Trendy decor with steady traffic at lunch hour- appears popular with all types of people. Chilled and frozen items, and fresh baked goods, on dIsplay for purchase. Service was warm and prompt. Meal was served hot. I would dine here again! Also, remember them for special occasion cakes!

More local deliciousness! Stopped in on Monday and had the special which was a pot pie, drink, salad of my choice and a cookie. The staff was so sweet and funny the cookie was perfect and the salad -Yum!! Can't wait to try other items from the menu

This place is heaven if you love food that makes you feel like your grandma is hugging you. I have tried the lasagne, Rotel spaghetti, soups, salads, brownies, cookies, king cake. Everything is fresh and delicious. My waistline wants me to put some days in between visits but maybe i will just add a few steps on the treadmill

This was my first time to eat at Sugar Magnolia. We had previously tried eating there about a year ago, but they didn't sell lunch at the time on Saturday's. Sugar Magnolia was a cute bakery and restaurant and the staff was extremely friendly! They checked on us several times. For lunch they have a special as well as sandwiches and salads. I got the pimento cheese blt sandwich which came with chips or potato salad. Get the potato salad! It was so good and my sandwich was great as well. The bacon was nice and crispy and the pimento cheese was superb. They toasted the croissant that it came on for me as well. The other entree that we got was he Saturday special of poppyseed chicken and a vegetable. This also came with a piece of lemon pie for desert. The bite of the casserole had a greater flavor. I couldn't believe how fast it was ready after we ordered. We weren't even finished looking at their deserts before it all came out. Since mine didn't come with a desert, I decided to try a couple of the cake bites/truffles which are 88 cents each. The chocolate covered peanut ball was by far my favorite! I could have eaten the whole tray. I did enjoy the others that I tried as well. Next time I go, I'm going to try one of the brownies which look amazing. Sugar Magnolia also has a lot of casseroles that are ready and just need to be put in an oven that would be a great dinner at home. They said they are 9 dollars a pound and range from 1 to 4 pounds. We will definitely be coming back very soon to sugar Magnolia!

We walked in…read morearound 9am on a Sunday morning and, after confirming they had pork-alternatives on the menu, waited to be seated. The place was not crowded but was doing a decent business and we only waited about a minute before being escorted to our table. The space is slightly cramped, as you have to walk single file down the aisles, especially if there are customers at the tables. Regardless, the decor is nicely done with cool copper looking A/C ductwork exposed among the black painted rafters and beams in the ceiling. I was immediately arrested by the Apple Fritter French Toast, French toast style fritters with fried apples, rum butter sauce, blueberries and powdered sugar! Both the description and the pictures on the menu were mouth-watering! But I was also torn between that and the Bourbon Street Pancakes, three house-recipe cakes topped bananas, pecans, rum butter sauce drizzle and whipped cream. Yeah, I was thinking exactly what you are thinking right now! After much indecision, I opted for the French Toast, with a side of eggs and chicken sausage. My mom ordered the Pumplin Crunch Waffle, a pumpkin infused graham cracker crunch Belgian waffle, spiced pumpkin cheesecake butter, maple pumpkin syrup and powdered sugar. I also opted to try one of their Cranberry Pomegranate Fizz Mocktail, which was iced tea, cranberry and pomegranate syrups, lime and ginger beer, with rosemary and orange peel! We were taking no calories prisoner today! After a short wait, my mocktail was brought out. It was just okay. First, the glass was completely full of ice so there was barely any drink. The syrups were a little too sweet and the ginger beer was not very prominent. As I was tasting it, our server came back to inform me that they were out of apples for my French Toast. Maybe its just me, but 9am seems kind of early to be running out of ingredients for your featured dish at a breakfast/brunch restaurant... Anyway, that dilemna settled, I reverted to my other choice and got the Bourbon Pancakes. I also asked the server to remake my mocktail with less ice, which he obliged very quickly. Our food arrived shortly thereafter and the pancakes were really good! Just the right amount of flavor and syrup. My mom's belgian waffle was also pretty good, although she wished it had been larger. The eggs and sausage were decent, but not especially memorable. Overall, it was a really enjoyable first meal back in Jackson. I would not hesitate to come again!

There are quite a bit of seafood options too. I've honestly enjoyed almost everything I've had here - especially the Gouda grits.... but potatoes could definitely use some seasoning. Hope that helps when choosing your side. ABE has a have a full bar and great cocktails, so if you're someone who likes mimosas for brunch, this spot is for you. After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.

We started with the onion rings and fried cheese balls, which were hot, crispy, and definitely worth ordering. The burgers and patty melt were cooked well and came with perfectly seasoned crinkle fries. Dessert was the real star of the meal. The peach cobbler was warm, buttery, and full of fruit, the pecan pie was rich and gooey, and even the simple vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce hit the spot. To start, the menus were absolutely filthy. They had food residue and greasy fingerprints all over them, and were torn and ripped in places. I was shocked that they do not at least have their menus laminated for this very reason. Everyone at our table noticed this and commented on it. This is a horrible first impression when you sit down at a restaurant, and needs to be corrected ASAP! I used to always love coming to Jo's diner over 10 years ago. I would usually get breakfast, and it was great. I decided to get something different today, and I think I just ordered the wrong thing. I ordered a house salad with fried chicken on top. They used to have this on the menu years ago, but I didn't see it; however, our server said she could have them make it for me. What I got was a small side salad ($5) with barely any chicken on it. The salad was in a little bowl, and had ONE chicken tender on top! I was even more surprised when I got my bill and noticed that I was charged $8 for said chicken tender. So for $13, you would expect to at least leave not hungry. I would've been better off just ordering a chicken tender platter and subbing the fries for a side salad or something. Lesson learned, I guess. Our server, Scarlett, was very attentive and really sweet, so that was a good thing! I love the vintage diner feel of this restaurant, and it brings back a lot of nostalgia of visiting "Brent's" in Jackson with my mom as a child. The next time I eat here, I will either get a daily blue plate or go back to getting breakfast. I just don't think salads are their specialty. I will come back and update my review if I do go back and it is better. (*Management: PLEASE get rid of the 3.5% fee for using a card as payment! I purposely avoid restaurants that do this to their customers. I used to work for a credit card processing company, and know that it is against card brand regulations to surcharge debit cards, which it clearly states on the bottom of your receipt that you do. This is a good way to get a hefty fine from the credit card companies. All it takes is one phone call from a disgruntled customer.)
