I decided to try this place with my mother after taking a red-eye flight to Jackson. We walked in around 9am on a Sunday morning and, after confirming they had pork-alternatives on the menu, waited to be seated. The place was not crowded but was doing a decent business and we only waited about a minute before being escorted to our table. The space is slightly cramped, as you have to walk single file down the aisles, especially if there are customers at the tables. Regardless, the decor is nicely done with cool copper looking A/C ductwork exposed among the black painted rafters and beams in the ceiling. I was immediately arrested by the Apple Fritter French Toast, French toast style fritters with fried apples, rum butter sauce, blueberries and powdered sugar! Both the description and the pictures on the menu were mouth-watering! But I was also torn between that and the Bourbon Street Pancakes, three house-recipe cakes topped bananas, pecans, rum butter sauce drizzle and whipped cream. Yeah, I was thinking exactly what you are thinking right now! After much indecision, I opted for the French Toast, with a side of eggs and chicken sausage. My mom ordered the Pumplin Crunch Waffle, a pumpkin infused graham cracker crunch Belgian waffle, spiced pumpkin cheesecake butter, maple pumpkin syrup and powdered sugar. I also opted to try one of their Cranberry Pomegranate Fizz Mocktail, which was iced tea, cranberry and pomegranate syrups, lime and ginger beer, with rosemary and orange peel! We were taking no calories prisoner today! After a short wait, my mocktail was brought out. It was just okay. First, the glass was completely full of ice so there was barely any drink. The syrups were a little too sweet and the ginger beer was not very prominent. As I was tasting it, our server came back to inform me that they were out of apples for my French Toast. Maybe its just me, but 9am seems kind of early to be running out of ingredients for your featured dish at a breakfast/brunch restaurant... Anyway, that dilemna settled, I reverted to my other choice and got the Bourbon Pancakes. I also asked the server to remake my mocktail with less ice, which he obliged very quickly. Our food arrived shortly thereafter and the pancakes were really good! Just the right amount of flavor and syrup. My mom's belgian waffle was also pretty good, although she wished it had been larger. The eggs and sausage were decent, but not especially memorable. Overall, it was a really enjoyable first meal back in Jackson. I would not hesitate to come again! read more

I love Another Broken Egg! The omlettes are good. Biscuits are huge. They have pork alternatives for the breakfast meat, such as chicken sausage. There are quite a bit of seafood options too. I've honestly enjoyed almost everything I've had here - especially the Gouda grits.... but potatoes could definitely use some seasoning. Hope that helps when choosing your side. ABE has a have a full bar and great cocktails, so if you're someone who likes mimosas for brunch, this spot is for you. Im from Flowood and came home to visit. My boyfriend and I went to dine at Another Broken Egg and it was the worst experience. Not sure what had happened in the 2 years since I last ate there but the place was filthy and gross, we were told that the wait was 15-20 minutes , even tho there were tables available and staff standing around. We sat at the bar and the bar tender (who's literally doing all the work ) informed us we could eat at the bar. Why wasn't the hostess capable of telling us? Because she was too busy yapping to the waitress who wasn't waiting on people. The food came out and the potatoes were dry and tasted like they were cooked at 4 am and sat out all day , not to mention what they called an omelette was actually some egg smashed on top of vegetables and ALL of the cheese on the top. It wasn't even rolled or resembled an omelette shape. I should have taken a picture but as I type this, I'm praying I don't get food poisoning. How are you a breakfast place and your cook can't make an omelette?? How is that possible? I'm so disappointed in the quality of service, food, and cleanliness. This is like our 4-5th visit here and it's a great breakfast/ brunch place. My wife and I love Eggs Benedict in any form . One of the poached eggs on my dish was cold. Thus the rating. Ordered the crab cake benedict, loaded grits, and half a Belgium waffle. After I took my pic, and did my video was when I noticed a whole egg shell was in it, Ashley my server got it all fixed up! Poached egg was cooked perfectly, this was more of a hollandaise with andouille rather than andouille-infused, still good, grits were great as well. I do prefer my Belgium waffles to be slightly more dense, and crisper, these were on the lighter, fluffier side, almost like the consistency of a pillowy donut. We understand that special occasions cause long wait times. We get that the restaurant may be short staffed or very busy....What I will never be understanding of is spending over $80 dollars for an order that's to go and it's cold. I will never understand a staff member saying "Well you can warm it up". At Another Broken Egg, there is something g for everyone. I had the Mardi Gras omelet which was stuffed with shrimp and other wonderful items that I usually don't find on a breakfast menu in West Texas. It came with and English muffin, and grits that can come as loaded as you like- and they were so creamy! The coffee went down real easy. We went on a sunday so it is understandable that a wait would be a little while. However, our server had too big of a section with at least 5 4-top tables outside and additional tables inside. It seemed like he disappeared and we didn't see him for long periods of time. He was very nice and it was not his fault he had such a large section. And on to the grave French toast the French toast is beautiful but there was 4x too much guava paste inside I had to scoop it out & in total it was about the size of a stick of butter!! Not to mention it didn't taste at all like guava but like strawberry .... I have eaten at a few of these for breakfast and this one was by far my favorite so far. I had the "Hey Lucy Omelette" no guacamole! Add flour tortilla instead of the English Muffin. It was great with a little of their pepper sauce! I also added a small stack of pancakes. They were pretty good also. They had decent coffee. Not too weak and not to strong. If your like my wife you will need to ask for more sugar on the table for your coffee. There are only four packs in the table tray. The service was great and everything was clean. ABE in Flowood is hands down the best breakfast spot around. They have a solid lunch menu too. We had the spinach omelette and the supreme omelette. One with potatoes and the other with fruit. Both were delicious! As we were walking through to be seated, I noticed that many had sandwiches which I'll try on my next visit. Lots of pancakes and waffles being served too. They have a full service bar for all your morning and midday cocktails. The service was friendly and attentive.
