Cuccidati Inc. had a booth at the event ... and they had me at the word "cuccidati". :-D LOVE these cookies! If you are unfamiliar, cuccidati are iced-and-sprinkled fig-filled Italian cookies. They're like a soft, delectable, gourmet, top-shelf, high-class, prettier Fig Newton, but way better, haha. Whenever I see an Italian cookie spread at a gathering, I always b-line for dibbs on the cuccidati. And Cuccidati Inc.'s cuccidati did not disappoint! These were a bit different from cuccidati I've had before. They weren't quite as sweet, not as thick-white of an icing as usual. And the filling seemed more natural, like more purely fig, as opposed to the more artificial extract flavor of some cuccidati. I do like the creamier cuccidati filling I'm used to, with more of a jam consistency. But these were good too, you could feel chewy bits of real fig fruit in each bite. If you prefer a cookie that isn't too rattle-your-teeth-sweet, you will probably enjoy Cuccidati Inc.'s cookies very much. We spoke with the owners when we were at the fresh-air market, and they were very sweet and friendly. They of course bake their namesake, but also bake many other cookies too. They don't have their own storefront, they sell by order, or at local venues and events. Mind you I'm not a fan of the commercial ones but these looked so good that I had to give them a try. There were lots of flavors to pick from but the college student hidden inside me insisted on these flavors. The strawberry has a soft jam filling and yummy crust with the strawberry glaze. The cinnamon had a hard cinnamon sugar mix inside with a cinnamon glaze on top of the same flaky yummy crust. The crust is really good, good enough to eat plain! Flaky and crispy and delicious. I think the strawberry filling would be amazing with something like cream cheese or Mascarpone to cut the sweetness ,speaking just for myself. The cinnamon is good as is. Maybe spread the filling more evenly. But well worth calling and ordering and definitely will be popular with kids , young and college age and anyone who's holding a coffee cup.

The lady offered us samples of her brownies, while her baby was cooing in her husbands lap. Each sample was in an individual little sealed cup and we both decided to try them. To be honest I was just expecting an average brownie. Not many brownies are bad. But this wasn't an ordinary brownie. Oh no the minute it hit my taste buds I was completely taken off guard. You know when your mouth starts talking without you" wow this is delicious!" No really delicious!! It's crusty on the outside as if you got the corner but all over!! Then it's rich, chocolaty creamy on the inside. So every bite is crunchy and smooth chewy. She also had cake pops but they weren't just a ball on a stick. They look like an ice cream bar but they are vanilla cake dipped in chocolate coating. The menu includes a variety of items but you can also order Treat Boxes which includes six treats of the Chefs choice. But custom boxes are available as well as custom cakes which were running on the computer on the counter. The cake designs were beautiful. Every piece of chocolate is more beautiful than the next. This trip I got not your average Easter Chicken and some beautiful eggs as well. Along with some yummy side treats. The Chicken and the eggs are filled with different selections of chocolate depending on what you pick. But they are all delicious and just lovely! They have a large selection of vegan chocolate along with dark and milk chocolate in so many shapes and sizes. The woman who took my order was very nice. The cookies were 2 for $6 this day and looked delicious and were big. They tasted pretty good. I got sugar with pink sprinkles. A lemon pound cake that just tasted like lemon cookie and a chocolate chip with caramel chip. If I was around again I'd probably stop in to support the small business especially because the customer service was great.
