Great selection of candy, but the prices are a little high. I also wish there was a scale available so customers could weigh their candy before checking out. The lady at the ice cream counter was very friendly, but our checkout experience was disappointing. Jonathan Cohen was not friendly, never greeted us, stayed on his phone while checking us out, and slammed my receipt into my hand when I asked for it. My sister also had a poor experience with him. After she paid, he walked away to the back. When we asked another employee for paper towels, she rolled her eyes before helping us. The candy vestibules are not properly labeled with pricing. My parents purchased candy off of one labeled vestibule with the price being $10 per 1/2 lb. Upon checkout, the price was $14.99 per 1/2 lb. When asked why we were informed that chocolate was $14.99 per 1/2 lb. This was nowhere on the station we utilized. When speaking to the manager, we were met with very brash comments about how we should "know the difference between chocolate and candy" and that we should have "looked harder". The customer service was extremely rude and we did not appreciate being spoken down to in such a way. I tried to locate a phone number to call about this situation, but there isn't one of those listed either. Highly disappointed, will not recommend, and will not return. My kids came here last year on our vacation and begged to go back. We knew it was expensive but they love the experience of picking out the candy, and it's vacation, so we didn't have a problem coming back. We visited on 7/20/26 and the staff was not very engaged but fine whatever. I'm sure they are paid hourly and it was a Monday. The unfortunate part is the staff was playing heavy metal music while all these kids were in the shop. It was totally inappropriate and very disjointed to the fun candy shopping experience. We hurried the kids through the store and spent way less than we probably would have spent because I was so overstimulated by the music, I just wanted to get out of there. read more

Tons of options here. Found some oldies and some Japanese candies which are my favorite. Big bonus for having Blue Bell ice cream available too! Store was clean and not too busy, parking was kinda a hot mess but that's ok. Service was fine, only one gentleman working so, took a few extra minutes as he was scooping ice cream when I wanted to check out. The location is nicely decorated and looked clean, service was OK for checkout. I was expecting to pay a premium due to location for families on vacation at the beach. The downside is the poor quality of candy and especially the chocolate. They charge an added premium for the chocolate candy even though it was cheap and tasted old/stale. Some of the regular candy, gummies and sours balls were old and hardened. Save your money and spend it elsewhere like Winton's or Bourbon Street in Corpus. read more

Super cute and giant candy shop! they have a great selection of candies/sweets. It's even attached to a massive gift shop next door! Only docked a point because we got a hello kitty surprise ball $10, that had candy and a "toy" but the "toy" wasn't even hello kitty related. read more

My kids and I had a blast at the Sugar Shack! It's not just a candy shop, there is a full-service Blue Bell ice cream parlor. If you have been to any ice cream parlor in Texas in the summer, the service will be a little bit slow, and it was the day that we went. We probably waited 15 minutes just to have our order taken, and then another 5-6 minutes to check out. They have only been open a month, and had wonderful attitudes and were excited for everybody in line. My kids found some really unique toys and candy. They've curated unique sweets, created a fun atmosphere, and so the "up charge" is there, but this place deserves it. They're brand new, locally owned, and I was happy to give them my business. I do wish that they had a social media account or website though! read more

atmosphere was way off in the gift shop area. The henna was absolutely horrendous, the blonde girl who did the henna was not even a tattoo artist or aspiring to be one. she traced horribly, the set up was the worst thing possible and for two small shitty henna tattoos it was $75. I'm livid, the ink isn't even henna!!!! it's this black ink that'll stain everything even after the 2 hour drying time. Horrible staff, horrible place, and they only accept 2 form of payments so if you pay with card you're going to have to pay an additional $5 with taxes and a card fee!!! read more

Scam. Prices are changed at register and if you don't catch it before you swipe your card there's no refund. Candy was melted in some bins, but most bins were ok. It was clean and we liked the huge Batman. The colors were what drew us in, but the prices have permanently driven us away. We'll stick to Wintons from now on. read more
