I went there 2/26/2025. I am writing this review almost a month later (3/25/2025) 1. I was late and they accepted me with no attitude. Do not expect this, but I appreciate the KINDNESS. we are all only human and make errors. 2. I am a hairy, light skinned black girl with dense coarse hair and the way my skin looks today, STILL AMAZING. I got a bikini and a butt sugar and it's still 95% hair free. I will be back! NO INGROWNS. AND NY HAIR IS COILY! 3. My waxer was a light skin black lady who was extremely gentle and nice. Next time I will speak up and ask if she can hold my skin more. Her ethnicity doesn't matter, but In today climate- it is nice to find POC to give you services in such a non diverse place / place lacking black estheticians in st. Pete + I find people who look like me to have similar issues. Skip to reason 5 for why I am super happy! 4. The establishment is CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL. this is not some overpriced stuffy dark/white spa, it's not a janky home spa- it is a perfect place for a wax and self care! 5. Lastly, do not expect this, but the eatitician could tell I didn't exfoliate and gave me an exfoliation glove and instructed me to use it a few times a week after my shower, while wet, but clean lol. I also think this is why I have seen a huge reduction in ingrowns, so her kindness and willingness to give me a cheap exfoliation glove , 1000% means I am going back!! It's the care and consideration for me. I have been getting sugared since 2017 by many people and they all have done a great job, but this was probs the best post wax skin I've ever had. Sugar South is one of the only true Sugar places in the area, and it's thankfully a great one. It's in a quaint building right off the main road, and once inside, it has a clean, welcoming feel. My session was to the point, easy, and comfortable. I'd go back when I'm in town. read more

If you haven't tried sugaring, you need to. The results are so much cleaner and last so much longer than traditional waxing or shaving. Marley is fantastic. All of her sugar is made in house, and the space is adorable. She works so hard to make sure her customers are clean and comfortable. Cutest, hip and modern spa. I saw Marley and she was incredibly fast!! I've had Brazilians before and they usually take at least thirty min, sometimes 45 min. Here you are in and out in twenty minutes and she is thorough! She is the kindest soul, witty and funny. I cannot recommend Marley enough! When I met her, I was very intrigued about the concept of sugaring, but still rather apprehensive. I explained to her that I had suffered really bad experiences with waxing in the past and relayed horror stories of my skin being burned (and then ripped off), bleeding, and significant bruising each time I had attempted professional hair removal. I also discussed with her my severely low pain tolerance and anxiety about trying hair removal again. Marley explained how sugaring works and why it is different than waxing, and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Most importantly, it was a success! Not only was I able to tolerate the discomfort (and let's be honest, sometimes just plan pain), but there were no issues whatsoever! I walked out of there feeling fantastic and now can head into the Independence Day Holiday Weekend without worrying about my bikini line!
