It was about 1.5 miles from my hotel stay in Syracuse. Upon entry (see the pics), you can tell it is a business that distributes the doughnuts out. The back of the store is busy with guys packing and wheeling loads in and out of business vehicles. I ordered six doughnuts. I chose glazed and cinnamon and then told the clerk to finish it off. There was no drinks or coffee, other than skim milk, which I got. It was good because it was freezing cold. Doughnut places in Mass like to charge 2 or 3 dollars per doughnut. This was not the case at Harrison Bakery. After I entered, it seemed like the place got really busy. When I returned to my car, there were alot of vehicles in the lot than when I arrived. They also sell some very cute greeting cards, earrings, magnets, etc. We ordered two drinks (Ube Espresso, Crème Brûlée latte), a flower pot mini cake (chocolate cake with raspberry filling in a decorative flower pot), a crème brûlée donut, and a spinach puff. The desserts were good, with the flower pot mini cake being our favorite. The chocolate cake was moist and the raspberry filling was balanced. We didn't love the flower frosting on top, but it was very pretty. The donut was very unique and filled to the brim with a fluffy cream - though we both thought it could've had a bit more flavor. The dough was perfect - soft and pillowy. The crème brûlée top made for a fun eating experience as the thin hard sugar had a satisfying crunch. The spinach puff was also delicious. Flaky pastry and cheesy filling - very comforting. The stars of the show were the drinks. The coffee was superb - balanced, smooth, and rich in flavor. While I didn't find the ube flavor to stand out, the ube espresso drink was still one of my favorite coffee drinks I've had. There is always a pleasant vibe to it and often there are people chatting or working on laptops. Employees are always really nice. I really enjoy the Pandan Matcha. Its so hard to find pandan drinks in the area! I find the drinks are often really sweet and so its important to order them with no sugar or less sugar. The boba is okay although the straws they have been using lately are too small for them so they lose some of the shape and correct texture. A random thing I love about their drinks are they used a crushed ice, it makes it feel appropriately portioned to the drink itself. Although I am not a coffee person, the cafe lattes are my partner's favorite in the area and they are highly customizable. It's also nice that they offer a carrier when you have a few drinks to-go. Interestingly, the cake and desserts are the weaker part for me for Cake Bar. They are often pretty dry for my tastes. My favorite has been the potato chip cookies, but I have only seen them a few times. The chicken wing dip buns are pretty good and filling though and are worth trying! Overall its a great stop and a nice place to bring friends when they stop by or to hang out whilst doing some work.
