I was out and about running a few errands today and stopped in on a whim. Upfront, I've not had a slice of tomato pie as good as the one I had today in a long time. Topped off with a cream filled cannoli that was delicious. If that's all I had I be sing the praises of Casa Del Pane. But.... I decided to take home a few of their cookie dough balls to try. Now, while my teenage son was all over these and dancing for joy, I found them a bit too sweet. Nothing wrong with the flavor or mouth feel, just too sweet for me. I'd definitely stop in for another slice or two of their Tomato Pie... But we're all different with our own unique pallets...I would suggest you give it a try for yourself as I did enjoy the totality of what I got...ESPECIALLY the tomato pie. read more

I have driven past this shop several times and always make a mental note to stop by. Today, a Thursday afternoon around noon, I finally had a moment to stop in. Here is some information I gathered during my visit: Parking - small open lot in front of the shop but they have additional parking in the back. I stopped by on a Thursday around lunch and three other cars were in the front lot. Service - this shop doesn't seem offer a dine-in experience, it's more of a grab and go. The blonde lady behind the counter was cordial and helpful in my selection. Food - as soon as I walked in I noticed the glass cases full of delicious looking pastries. I practiced self control and only purchases one cookie. For lunch I bought the stuffed bread (their lunch special) with pepperoni. That stuffed bread can definitely feed three people. Price - my stuffed bread plus raspberry cookie all came out to $7.95 with tax. This is extreme reasonably priced considering how big the stuffed bread is. I'll definitely be coming back to try some more pastries. read more

Just went to this bakery and was looking to get a bunch of canolis and treats for a party tomorrow and the lady working did not greet us or get off her phone call to acknowledge we were present. After waiting a few minutes for her to end her call, she continued her conversation looked at us and said sorry as we walked out the door. read more

Quite literally the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. These people clearly lack the ability to properly run a business. To begin with, the woman who waited on me was about as friendly as an ice cube. I purchased several items and was never given the loaf of bread that I purchased. When I called to inquire about the bread I expected the employee to hold the bread until I went back to get it. Unfortunately that is not what happened. She repeatedly insisted that she "SAW" me walk out with the bread "IN MY HAND," when in the meantime she had re-sold it to someone else, and told me she was "too busy and did not have time for this," and hung up the phone on me. Not to mention their cookies are less than mediocre. Does this sound like a bakery you would like to patronize? If there was a way to leave all the stars above blank that would be the rating this bakery deserves. read more

The BEST Italian bread and rolls in the world. My family also loves their pastries and the half moon cookies and brownies are to die for!

Oh my. What has happened here? After moving to California, the one thing I missed the most about Syracuse was Casa Del Pane's half moon cookies. So this year for Christmas, I went back to Syracuse and made sure I stopped by to pick up some goodies. Again I ask: what has happened here? The service was really lacking here. One, it was near Christmas. Cheer the hell up. Two, you work in a bakery, not a mortuary. You could try smiling, or even being HAPPY. Maybe? I felt incredibly rushed, and unwelcome during my visit (and I was the only customer in the store.) Oh well. I brushed it off, paid for my cookies, and headed to my car. As I picked one up to take a bite, I noticed that it felt.. hard. A lot harder than I remembered. So I take a bite.. and almost spit it back out. Were these made last year? What happened to the fluffy, buttery, cakey texture with the smooth, soft, sweet frosting? I was so disappointed. Crushed. Down right sad. I didn't finish my cookie... a few days later, I got back on a plane headed back to California. Looks like my sweet dreams of Syracuse are a thing of the past. read more

Really disappointing. Bread nothing special and overly sweet pastries. The best thing is the Lobster Tail filled with sweet cheese. Everything thing else you can find somewhere else and probably a lot better. read more

Walking in immediately I could tell they love their bread and pasta. Oh there's plenty and I mean plenty of sweets too; two cases full. Not being from the area there were a few things I had not seen before but it all looks so yummy. The young lady behind the counter was the bakers daughter so with her suggestions we grabbed a lobster tail and a stuffed bread. The sweet cream filled flaky pastry was delightful. The great treat was the pepperoni stuffed bread. Get the stuffed bread- thru it in the oven to warm and toast. It was STUFFED with pepperoni! read more

This bakery offers really good Italian bread. It is amazing as toast the next day. They also offer excellent cannolis. They have a wide selection of Italian cookies which are all good. If you are in the Fairmount area...definitely worth a stop! read more

I went in today for the first time with my husband and the whole experience was amazing. I couldn't help but notice the Linzer Tart's; now I am the last person to choose a lemon flavored desert but I couldn't help but notice how the yellow lemon filling looked so rich and creamy sandwiched between the cookies. Every bite was like a little piece of heaven We purchased quite a variety of treats and no complaints whatsoever, and I highly doubt anyone else will either. We will definitely be back. read more

Just had the worst experience ever here! Regular customer since day 1. Bought some cream filled baked goods, were stale and after a couple bites stopped eating. Got very I'll shortly after. Tried to return and clerk was very rude & said no. Great customer service! This is why I will only go to Geddes or Mario's from now on. read more

I cant imagine people giving bad reviews. My daughter and I have come here regularly since she was born. She is 19 now and we still come here. Pastries are great. If you like good Cannoli's this is the place. Their bread is the ONLY bread I buy. Being a good Italian cook, bread makes the meal and they have the best. We come here often. Such so good things. The Lobster Claws are to die for!!! The pizza breads are the best to have on hand in the house for grab and go.

Stopped by this little place super excited to see what was inside since we are new to the area and LOVE Italian food. Cookies were delish and happy they had vegan options. I was extremely excited for the sausage bread I bought and after baking and cutting into it I was truly disappointed to find some sort of yellow/orange cheese and NOT mozzarella. I'm pretty sure it was American cheese...in an italian stuffed bread. It was not good. The sausage was definitely frozen and processed as well. Stuffed bread/Sausage rolls are one of my favorites and this was the worst I've ever had. The lady at the counter could have been a little more inviting as well. Macaroons seemed very fresh and I loved those! 3 stars for this stop and I'm hoping the next is a 5! read more
