I had the Cuban press this time in the Demi (soup and salad + 1/2 sandwich) highly recommend My fiancé had the caprese Demi with a ceaser salad and mushroom soup. It was really good, and an accidental vegetarian option that is genuinely good. The tea was also pretty good, they have a healthy dose of options I didn't take a picture of our dessert but we had the lemon bar, too sweet for our taste but we still finished it. The COOKIES!! Enjoyed a nice breakfast at Sugarbakers on a Saturday morning! The menu is quite large so lots of options for lunch or breakfast, whatever you're feeling. I personally really enjoyed their potatoes o'Brien which is their take on a potato hash. The staff were friendly and helpful with the questions we had about the menu. The place is kind of run down though but this is a good place to come for a decent breakfast and fresh baked goods. read more

This café is absolutely delightful! The presentation is charming, and every bite feels like it was crafted in the clouds. The textures--from the pasta salad to the peanut butter chocolate chip muffin--were amazing. I also appreciate that they offer vegetarian options even though I'm pescatarian - some times I do want cheese and veggies! I love their "life's short, eat the cookies" sign. I AGREE. The atmosphere is adorable, and I'd happily return. Parking is a bit limited, but street parking should work fine. It's such a sweet spot, perfect for anyone visiting Corpus Christi. I'm pork schnitzel #1 fan! I come every Tuesday for the Blue Plate Special pork schnitzel. It's my favorite the dill cream sauce is amazing and they always give me a little extra! Great amount of food, had the three trio special. More food then you can imagine and all three salads were delicious. Friend enjoyed the tuna salad. Dressing was perfect and veggies were fresh. Grabbed a cookie on the way out and it was also the perfect treat. Server was helpful with specials and explained menu and her favorites, received food timely considering we went at noon and the place was packed. Simple and sweet restaurant/bakery. Had the breakfast burrito which looked pretty ordinary but tasted fantastic. Oatmeal was the same .... Unassuming but very good. Portion sizes are not overly large but more than enough- very filling. Unfortunately their espresso machine wasn't working while we were there, but other than that good service and food. My recollection was that I chewed slowly as I didn't want to dish to end! ;-) - I know, it sounds like I had never dined out but oh my lanta, that was the most rich, decadent, exquisite salad ever! - Mimosa was divine. Bright restaurant that is nicely decorated. Service was great even during the Saturday morning rush. Hazelnut latte was excellent. We got the quiche with spinach bacon and mushroom with fruit and hash browns, and the breakfast burger with hash browns. Both were delicious. Also got a key lime bar and rocky road cookie to go. We are a long time customers of this restaurant. We love it. The ambience is homie or folky. Not my favorite ambience, but it is OK. It can be very noisy if you were hard of hearing. Cute little spot to grab breakfast, and the pastries are definitely something you shouldn't pass up! The sweet tea was perfectly sweet, and I got the unsweet raspberry iced tea and it was refreshing. I personally didn't use any sweetener. My husband got the Sunrise Sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. A simple yet yummy breakfast sandwich! I got the Lox & Bagel plate and everything was so good! The capers and cream cheese pair well with the smoked salmon and fresh vegetables. The hash browns were crispy and a classic breakfast side. The bat sugar cookie was so cute, the cannoli was amazing! The outside shell was crispy and the creamy filling didn't make it soggy. Lastly, the cranberry muffin! Tart from the cranberries yet sweet from the sugar on top as well as the super moist muffin! Terrible! I order the Citrus Chicken. Picture shows two pieces of chicken I received one. the rice pilaf is so salty, the broccoli was yellow only a couple and the carrots old and few. they forgot to give the two desserts I ordered to Door dash. Doordash will only refund me 8.60 for some reason. Never again Sugarbakers. I called and the girl told me I could come and pick up the desserts. It was their fault I didnt get it delivered. In this challenging time, it's a blessing to know some places, like Sugarbaker's, have been using their wholesale contacts to become a pseudo "market" for their customers. Items like fresh produce, meats and dairy, breads, paper products and more along with their wonderful baked products and other essentials you may need. They set them aside in bags for you to pick up. We've used them 3 times and everything we've gotten is top-quality. And, if you don't feel like cooking, you can still order from their menu using their online ordering app. The level of convenience they've extended to their customers is why we will always support them. While visiting Corpus Christi, a local recommended SugarBakers. As a result, I stopped by and settled on the Shoreline Club sandwich. Delicious but disappointed that there was very little in the case. We came at 1030am. My daughter is a professional baker and they have to show up before their place of business opens to make sure the cases are full at the beginning of the day. Currently my favorite breakfast restaurant. They have delicious options even for those with food allergies. It can get busy, and if you come at peak time just be prepared to wait during those occasions. Omelettes are priced very fairly and give you as many options as you'd like including lobster and brie or asparagus. My only con is that they don't have any gluten free deserts but they don have delicious desserts if you feel like it's your cheat day this is one of two places that it'd be SOOOOO worth it. Had their french toast with peaches and cognac sauce and it was amazing. ... I don't go off diet often but when I do, might as well enjoy it and with Sugarbakers I can do both, eat healthy and delicious or pick my day to gluten it up. Everything is done right here! Every local must try it! The omlettes are sophisticated and satisfyingly filling and the blackened mahi-mahi wrap with that aioli sauce is absolutely god-sent. Really disappointing. I had heard great things about the cafe'. We went for lunch around 11:30, and sat down immediately. We ordered 2 of the catch of the day lunch specials, salmon with 2 sides. 30 minutes later, we saw everyone around us get their orders. 3 couples that came after us had eaten and left and we still did not have our food. Over 1 hour later we finally were served our lunch. I wish I would have take a photo. The salmon was raw, but cold, and the sides were cold. Both meals were horrible. We sent them back and left. Such a great place! The staff is nice and the food is amazing. Such a great alternative to getting food from a chain restaurant and is in a great location. The ham and cheese although sounds plain is amazing! It was ham, cheese, tomato, and a special sauce in between two slices of toasted panini bread.
