This is technically my second visit (I came in January), but this time I came for the ice cream. I got a medium (2 scoops) of mint chocolate chip on a waffle cone, it was very good but the portioning was a lot so I didn't end up finishing it. I really enjoyed it though I have no complaints. This place has an insane plethora of options from drinks to food. The staff is very nice, I appreciated their attentiveness. They were not helpful with recommendations though, I asked for a personal favorite and received a vague answer. That's not really a critique as much as it just makes a place more fun when the employees have personal recommendations. Not a big deal at all. The biggest thing for me was the price point. It's very high. They sell a lot of things and it's just all relatively expensive. If you're rich you don't even need to consider this part! read more

While visiting Westcliffe, CO, I stopped at the delightful Sugarlump cafe. The decor is warm and inviting and the staff is friendly and attentive. Sugarlump offers a large variety of drinks, lunch items and baked desserts. The cafe also has an extensive selection of gift items available for sale. The matcha latte I purchased was delicious. It's a little on the pricy side, but great nonetheless. They fill the cup to the top, so you are getting your money's worth. If you need a quick stop for a breakfast sandwich, coffee or tourist purchases, this place is for you. The breakfast sandwiches are good, reliable (crepes across the street are better!) but they are good and a good selection of coffees. They have so many items for purchase: mugs, bags, puzzles, almost on much but it's a very nice place with outdoor seating, well worth a visit! read more

Coffee was great and service was quick -- hardly any wait time to order or get food. The environment is fun and welcoming. We tried the grilled cheese and the turkey, bacon, pepper jack sandwich -- both were panini pressed and delicious! The only downside is that sandwiches don't come with a side, which feels a little pricey for the portion. We also got an iced latte that was really good. Yesterday I visited Bishop's Castle and when driving back home I decided to go left towards Westcliffe rather than right towards Florence. It pays to make those lefts! Sugarlump is located in the charming town of Westcliffe. So glad I chose Sugarlump over another ice cream shop nearby. Sugarlump has a nice old soul feel to the building. They also offer a plethora of ice cream flavors! I noticed an unusual one that I may try some day, bubble gum flavor. For this visit, I ordered a scoop of Maple Walnut (Maple is a favorite flavor of mine) ice cream in a sugar cone and it was really good! Nice homemade flavor. When the young lady finished scooping the ice cream into my cone she called out my order then looked at me and said that I better hurry because the ice cream was quickly melting. This was a cute remark! She was right. I sat at the front window of the establishment and enjoyed my cone while people watching. I'm in love with the town of Westcliffe. The interior of Sugarlump is spacious with plenty of seating. I believe there is a mini gift shop (towards the center of the main room) to purchase gifts and souvenirs. It was also nice to see families inside and outside this establishment enjoying ice cream. I would love to return and spend more time here. Looking forward to visiting again! If you haven't visited Westcliffe I recommend doing so and checking out Sugarlump. Lastly, I loved how friendly staff is too. read more

My husband & I went into town for breakfast after a doctors appointment. We both had the bagel sandwich which was tasty but the bagel was a little chewy, probably microwaved? We both had lattes, which were very tasty. The person was alone, so you just need to have patience, like everywhere, I think they have problems getting help, it took a while for our order, but she was alone & it was busy for a winter day. read more

Drove through Westcliff on the way home and needed some coffee. SL delivered. Great upcycled, clean, well laid out space when you step in. This is what Westcliff needed. The front desk lady was very polite and patient with our order of four custom drinks, cinnamon rolls, and stickers. Oh yeah, they have some neat, very cool, t-shirts, stickers, mugs, etc for sale, all crafted by locals, so check that out too! Drinks were on point, came quickly and fulfilled our needs. Some of the best gooey, light, sweet, but not too sweet, cinnamon rolls I've had. We devoured the two we got, even after eating breakfast earlier, like lions. Nice selection of drinks and ice cream. Some people were eating food, but I didn't notice the food menu. I love the little things they sell in store, they are very cute!!! The employees were nice and the place has a clean and appealing esthetic. I was able to sample ice cream, which I ended up getting and enjoyed it. Also tried the frozen lemonade, which wasn't my favourite, but my husband loved. There weren't any baked goods when we came in. There is ample indoor seating to enjoy and work/study in, and they're appropriately spaced out with COVID. There is also outdoor seating.
