This is the best coffee for miles. We've tried many coffee places and hands down it is the best tasting espresso and lattes. That first sip is ‍ They roast their own beans in Florence. I appreciate that they make their pastries, cookies, pies, banana bread, desserts etc from scratch with wholesome, and cleaner ingredients. They usually have one or two gluten free options available. I frequently order the quiche, so good. If they warmed it up in an air fryer that would even make it better, in my opinion. The crust is so good. Service is so lovely no matter if I'm in Florence or Canon city. I would say the ambiance is cozier in Florence. We love the coffee so much we get their espresso beans to use at home. I really enjoyed the experience at The Pour House. They serve All Good Things Coffee which was definitely "all good" in the realm of taste coffee. I had the Sumatran dark roast blend that was available. It was so good that I ended up getting a bag of beans of another dark roast blend. That tasted great as well when I had a cup at home. It was a beautiful morning in Florence so we decided to sit out on the patio. It felt perfect. A great tasting cup of coffee, vegetarian burrito, and a brownie and people watching at Junktique. I wish we weren't on a time crunch otherwise I could have spent my entire morning there. Nice staff and a wonderful experience. I will continue to enjoy my All Good Things Coffee at home and think of that morning. I'll certainly return again if ever in Florence. read more

My experience here was on both ends of the spectrum. First we were recommended by a local to try this place out which is always a good sign. At first look this place was pretty cool. Had all the trendy vibes, all different types of coffee options, vegan and gluten free. The feel of the place was simply "cool." The guy at the front was nice and friendly-ish. The bathroom was tidy and clean. I ordered a couple coffee drinks and some food for the road. On the road I opened my "Best Chicken Salad in the World" or whatever they called it and discovered a hair in the sandwich. I know this is a serious offense and I wasn't thrilled about it but I was prepared to press on until I noticed the obnoxious amount of celery on this sandwich. Like, not a reasonable amount of celery. If I had the guess I'd say it was likely 3 stalks, no joke. Being desperate to eat I overlooked the hair, pushed aside 2 stalks of thickly cut celery and dug into a very wet chicken salad croissant sandwich to discover....it was pretty damn delicious. Like so delicious I ate the entire thing (which isn't like me). The flavor of their dressing, the grapes and the croissant all came together perfectly. In addition, the coffee was wonderful. SO my overall assessment is this: Location: Good, Vibes: Great, Coffee: Awesome, Bathrooms: Good Enough, Guy Behind The Counter: Good, Food: Delicious, Hair: Not Good, But I'm Assuming It Was A One Time Thing, Celery: Tone It Down A Smidge (or more) Overall: I Would Totally Go Back. UPDATE: I'm updating my review to 5 stars due to Kenny's response to my original review. Customer service is a dying art and simply giving a hoot can make up for a little hair and overzealous celery any day. Best coffee in the area. Love the quiche. Female Barista made the best coffee and wore mask for Covid. (we are higher risk). The newer male Barista is not that good and his mask is around chin or neck. We have left several times when we see his mask not being used. Otherwise, would be 4 stars.... Found this little gem en route to Westcliffe. They roast the coffee here and most of it is organic. I recently read that coffee beans are sprayed with up to 200 pesticides so big score with the organic! Pour House bakes their own pastries, too. I bought some beans, a latte, brownie, and oatmeal raisin cookie. It was all delicious. The brownie was especially great--chewy, great chocolate flavor with some chocolate chips. What a hidden gem! As the sign warned outside it did indeed have "fancy pants coffee" but fortunately no attitude was served up with it. The guy who helped us (presumably the owner?) seemed passionate about the coffee and their offerings. He was glad to explain what a "pour over" was to uneducated non-fancy pants like us. I opted for a mochato which I recommend for you mocha lovers. I was impressed by the variety of espressos and blends. I will definitely be more adventurous the next time I find myself in Florence. My dad warned their beverages are always scalding but I expect nothing less. The local raw chocolate was a bit too raw for me but if you're into that kind of thing (read: healthy), it's the right quality. Too rich for me. Overall vibe is chill. I wish this place was in my town. Local artwork is featured on the wall, fun music is playing complemented by colorful walls and high ceilings with a large array of seating nooks. Check out the Roasters magazine to bulk up on your coffee knowledge but beware if you sit on the red couch by the door - you might find it tricky to get back up. read more

The only good thing about the florence poor house is the atmosphere. The service is poor and the food was less than abysmal. The food we had ordered was over priced for what we got. Also, as a barista I know that Italian sodas are made with sparkling water NOT 7UP!!!! The flavors clashed and I did not enjoy it. The cup to my drink was filled to the brim with ice,which causes me too get only a few drinks of the drink. This trip was not worth the 8 dollars I spent. This place seems like it would have a nice atmosphere when it is busy. I came in on a Saturday afternoon in November and the only people here were me and one unmotivated counter guy. Ordered the Turkey Pastrami Grill. 3 slices of deli turkey, 1 slice swiss, 1 slice gorgonzola, onions (I asked for and received it without), run through a panini press. Ok so shrink to 1/100th of both and you get wonderful service. Quaint off Main Street. Their chicken salad on crossiant is the way to go. The crossiant is heated but the chicken salad is still cold. And I found my new favorite, sliced purple grapes. I'll admit I absolutely hated grapes or any other foreign item in my salad. Now it's one I will ask for.
