This is a fun place to come, especially if your primary goal is to hang out outside (or in a small area inside) listen to live music and grab a bite to eat. Based on our first experience, service was good, drinks and food came out fast. But, the drinks are priced on the high side. Food is about average priced. Three of us ordered the French dip. They use Boreshead deli meat, which was unexpected. That said, the sandwich tasted good. It was an average portion size and amount of meat. The au jus was tasty, but they could be more generous in the serving size. I ordered the spinach salad with their homemade Ranch dressing. It was a hearty portion (I took 3/4 home), it did taste fresh and I liked the toppings. The music was good, the place is large and is both family and dog friendly. Our server was friendly and attentive. We would like to return to compare our experiences, plus we want to try their pizza. It looked pretty good. We brought our dog on a night that they were having live music. They sat us in the back which I'm super grateful for so our dog's ears wouldn't hurt from loud music in front of the stage! This place was such a vibe to hang out at! The music was good, drinks were good, and our appetizer and pizza were stellar. Our waitress recommended to us their pizzas so that's why we went that route for our main course. We ordered the Shack Royale, and I absolutely loved that the pizza was completely loaded up. The buffalo dip was also fantastic. The chips tasted homemade. The mega-rita tasted like an average margarita, nothing fancy or delicious but 32 oz of a drink is impressive. Casual weekend hangout listening to live bands. Visited my son at FGCU and went to this place for a cool casual Sunday before heading back home. Bonus: my son's friend was performing! Great music!!! We ordered: - pulled pork bbq pizza. Crust was thin and crispy and just enough bbq sauce which was good! - bone in wings - sweet potato fries. Very good. Sunday afternoon music was nice but the food really disappointed the only menu item at lunch worth having was the pizza. The rest was Sysco food service at best. Our waiter was very nice and took care of us even one wrap which was not at all edible just tasted strange he took off the bill not his fault and he apologized on behalf of the establishment. They "proudly serve" Sysco food, need I say more? It's a nice looking place with covered outdoor seating, I bet it is fun for drinks and live music but wow is the food awful. They claim they make their own bread but even that was average. The rest of the food is frozen cafeteria food, basically Applebees. Got a few wraps and the worst veggie burger I've ever had. They said it was homemade... yikes even worse. Hostesses also do not communicate with servers so they had no idea where we were sitting etc. Overall, do not eat here unless you're already here for drinks. read more

I always have a good time at the sugar shack! I've only been a few times but my friends are in a band and they play there quite often, and it's always so much fun! Come check out the dead Ataris next time you see the on the stage! They have an inside and outside bar, both are great depending on your vibe. It's open which is nice so even if you're inside you can still enjoy the band. The first time I went I got pizza and wings. Standard bar food but they don't use any seed oils which makes it soooo much better! This past weekend they hosted an event for us bravo girlies and Tom Sandavol was behind the bar slinging drinks. We sat outside and although it was hot, they had fans running to help keep it cool. The outdoor space is awesome and they also had live music. So excited Sugarshack finally opened. We went opening weekend. The music was great. We put our name on the list and were told it would be 10 minutes. Got 2 seats at the bar and enjoyed a couple of cold beers. Gary did a fabulous job at the bar even though you could tell they were short staffed. Unfortunately patrons were arriving and seating themselves at open tables causing plenty of confusion. The staff did a phenomenal job of managing it all but 10 minutes turned into 2 hours so we left without eating. Please note; you cannot go somewhere opening weekend and not expect there to be glitches. This place is going to kill it and I can't wait to see how successful they are. Wow I'm SHOCKED this place has three stars overall - we had an incredible experience and the wait to get in speaks of its beloved popularity! My parents had been a few times before and were super excited to take us. They warned us that it's very popular especially on the live music nights and that there would probably be a line. We put our name in for an hour wait, and then went to find some rogue chairs and listen to the reggae band while we waited. First: the VIBES. You simply cannot beat the vibes here! Reggae live music on the literal STAGE. Outdoor seating with stunning covered structures. Amazing plants surrounding you. I was grinning ear to ear just being here! Plus they're kid and dog friendly. Lo an behold, a spot came up on the turf with low chairs and a low table that isn't part of the regular seating - so we opted to sit there! We were able to get drink and food service - though it took a while, we were VERY pleased with ourselves. We had an epic casual spot, could hear the music perfectly, and got table service! We were practically done with our meal by the time we got the call for our table. The drinks were delish! I love that they have a standing bar cart for folks waiting or that want a drink right away - genius. And honestly, the food exceeded my expectations! I figured this was a place that was known for drinks and live music, but their food was fireeee. We had wings and sweet potato fries, and others had sandwiches. Delish all around! Love the sugar shack! There were four of us and almost had salads. I had one of the salads-I can't remember which one -with salmon on it. It was absolutely delicious and it was a huge piece of salmon. I had my two golden retrievers with me, (I did call first) everyone was very welcoming to them. The staff even brought them a big bowl of water. They were happy because they ate all the leftover salmon from everyone's plate. The band had just started up. We were heading across the street to the Riverside for the Sunday concert, but I would've been happy just to stay right there and listen because they were really good. I was loving SugarShack. I had been 7 times within the last four months. Free music...outdoor venue with super cute decorations...pretty good food. The nachos were really yummy and had a mountain of toppings the first time I had them. The second time I had them, there were less toppings. I then started getting the Italian rolls and those were really good. There was no lack of cheese, which I liked. There used to be 5 rolls but last night there were 4. The bands were quite good and talented. I don't know of any other spots hiring bands to play country music. The Dave Matthews cover band was amazing. It was packed, I mean sardines in a can packed. I think the wait list was 3 to 4 hours for a party of 2. Last night, the wait list was 45 minutes for a party of 2. The place can get really loud, so if that's not your thing, look elsewhere. Also, the chairs are those ones that leave markings on your legs so I started bringing a towel as I found them quite uncomfortable but doable for long stretches of time. Kevin had been our server multiple times and he was top tier!! He was friendly and attentive and came back to the table quickly. No matter how busy it got, he was still popping up showing full attention. After last night, I don't think my friend and I will be back. We found two seats at the bar and the chairs were different there (no leaving marks). My friend and I were only drinking iced teas but we ordered food. My friend took a sip of her drink and said it tasted weird. I took a sip and there was hardly any taste, like it was very watered down. My friend got one of the bartender's attention and explained how every time we had been there, the iced teas tasted different. She 100% blew us off and walked away. She said that was the only iced tea they have and had an attitude. We really wanted something to drink with our food so my friend caught another bartender's attention. This one was nice and went inside to get us iced tea that was not watered down. I finished my one iced tea and my friend asked for refills. The nice bartender said she would get us refills but they never came. I had also put our name in for a table and it was ready so we headed to the table. We waited for about 10 or 15 minutes and no server ever came. By this time I was pretty annoyed. I went to the hostess station and explained how every time we had come, we had a good experience but that last night was very frustrating. I explained the situation and how I was now upset that my food was cold. I was very thirsty by this point and wanted a drink to keep eating and swallow the food without a lump in my throat. Someone brought two iced teas and I guess expected me to walk them to the table. I did that and the iced teas were the ones that were watered down. I took a couple of sips and had a couple more bites of my roll but the roll was disgusting at this point because it was not even lukewarm. We left (as we were leaving, the hostess apologized) and it put a very bad taste in my mouth that makes me have no desire to go again. read more

The Sugarshack Downtown space is awesome, with an open air indoor feel to a large outdoor space. We went on a very crowded Saturday night to see Rock Republic. We got there an hour early and were told we wouldn't get a table that night for our group of four. Seems like we should have gotten there two hours early! So we went down the street to the food truck park (which is also awesome) for dinner and headed back to Sugarshack for the music. There was ample standing room around Sugarshack, the bartenders were working overtime for the supersized crowd, and Rock Republic put on an amazing show! We follow them at other local spots, but really saw their showmanship shine at Sugarshack. I do wish the management made a larger dancefloor for Rock Republic...it was too tight to get anywhere near the band. But the speakers and TV screens all around the venue do let you hear and see the band really well from anywhere. Still, I want to be up front and center for my favorite band. I'll definitley be back...and if it's for Rock Republic, we will get there MUCH earlier. And I look forward to actually sitting down and trying some of the food. :) read more

Let me start by saying this was my second attempt to go to this establishment. The first time, was one of the very first days they were open and I had made a reservation and they called me an hour before my reservation time to tell me if they don't take reservations, even though I had booked it a week ahead of time. This second attempt was successful and we were seated right away. Service started off strong, but ended up not good by the end of the visit. I think they were understaffed for how many tables they had and she was either given a bunch of more tables or had to keep taking tables to accommodate. We ended up waiting with dirty plates and empty drinks for 40 minutes before she came back. We would have ordered more drinks if she had come back before then. However, we were ready to go by that point. My margarita bucket tasted like straight lime juice, and was difficult to drink. I ended up pouring almost a whole cup of sparkling water into it to make it bearable. I was disappointed in the wings as they definitely tasted like they came from the freezer. The pizza and buffalo chicken dip smelled like a kid cuisine pizza. However, the flavors were good. The venue itself was cool and the band was good. For a place that got so much hype, I was just so disappointed that it didn't live up to it. read more

The cheese to sauce ratio was 90/10. And they boast so much about their "fresh dough" that they quit making grinders after 4pm. Please...you make pizza hut taste good. Also way over priced. Our bill came out to $85. You want extra toppings? Theres a charge for that. You want a side of marinara sauce because there wasn't enough on your Pizza...which i guarantee their won't be...there's a $.75 charge for that too Oh and service: lets start from the beginning...if you dont want to sit in the nose bleeds.. you have to start from the beginning and see the hostess....again. Good luck trying to get your waitress attention...Ours would disappear for hours on end...my mom n i had to flag other staff down. My opinion: sugar shack...you need work! read more

Came here Saturday august 16th for the show. The place was clearly oversold. We were told this by various people. We are no strangers to shows in FL, We are concert veterans and have been in rough spots before, Jannus , the amp, Orlando vacation in the middle of Orlando in a field in July, This was over the top no fun. Yes it's hot in SW FL in August, venue can't control this, however, they could have brought in more fans even a misting system to help cool people off. Too many people in a space. Some other people were rude. May not be directly connected to the venue, we were with a group of friends and some guy took a chair from our table when friends of ours went to stand in line for a 1/2 hour for a beer. He claimed to be an "investor " which is why he felt entitled to our friend's chair. An investor Of what I don't know. Maybe of this venue, maybe of wheat Pennys, maybe of dogecoin, idk. The dude was a jerkoff. The whole entire sugar shack vibe was ruined this night. The only reason why they didn't give one star is on the way out the guy at the door wished us a great night in a very kind manner. I very rarely leave bad reviews because I understand business are trying to make money. I don't see anyone worthwhile to talk to here to make this right, except the jackoff "investor" who took a chair when our friends went to the bathroom. read more

Just what Bonita Springs needed! We've been waiting for an opportunity to check out this live music centered restaurant/bar in the heart of historic downtown Bonita! It was incredibly lively, brimming with smiling faces and people truly enjoying the music! There's a big area for people to dance right in front of the stage. The place was much bigger than I imagined. The layout is incredibly smart. If your ears are more sensitive, you can sit further away from the band at some of the tables. There are plenty of fans to keep you cool, and speakers and TV's so you can watch the band even if you aren't up close. There's a couple of bars outside too, so you could grab a drink if you didn't want to sit down and be waited on. We tried out the meat wave pizza, the spinach salad, and the SugarShack IPA. We really enjoyed everything we tried. The service was great - prompt and friendly. We are just so grateful this place exists in Bonita! What a phenomenal experience, and it really sets the tone for downtown. Looking forward to coming back in the future! read more

Have been there three times as it is a halfway point for our group of friends. Food has always been average. Last night we had a group of four couples and requested separate checks. The server said she couldn't do that per their policy. Unfortunate, but not a showstopper. The showstopper was when she pointed out that one of the four payments did not include a tip. Actually, the party was going to tip in cash but decided not to after getting called out by the server. Very unprofessional behavior. I went with a few friends to try Sugarshack Downtown on a Thursday night. WOW... 45 minute wait and no where to sit. When we did get a table the music was SO Loud my ears were burning. When I got the bill I was absolutely shocked I ordered a steak quesadillas and guacamole appetizer and a Mich ultra my bill was 53.00.... The quesadillas was 30.00. Dropped a knife covered in marinara sauce on my wife's lap and didnt even apologize. She also did not tell us how much the bill was or that there were up charges for any sides, but instead tried to sneakily add sides to our order without disclosing the cost.
