The other libraries that participate in story time do not lock the doors. Walked around the library and it was exactly what I remembered it being from when I used to go as a child. The only thing that's changed is that there are A LOT of homeless in the front and back of the library which is unfortunate. I don't think I'll be back to this library with so many others to choose from that don't have homeless hanging around outside. The back of the library near the water is still nice

This was not my first experience dealing with a chaotic environment here, but my recent visit was the final straw. I came in specifically needing to prepare some legal paperwork, expecting a quiet environment where I could concentrate. Instead, it felt like a fair atmosphere. There were kids screaming and parents holding loud conversations without a care in the world. Whatever happened to using your "library voice"? The most frustrating part is that the staff completely fails to intervene. It is incredibly disappointing that management lets the noise level get so completely out of control. I really hope leadership steps up, enforces some basic rules, and brings back a standard of respect for patrons who need to read, study, or focus.

This feature is essential for me since I don't need any distractions while I study. The library is quiet, for the most part, however, there are occasional rowdy kids and adults that want to talk on their phones very loudly at times. I highly recommend bringing noise-canceling headphones if you plan on coming here to study or get work done. The building is quite spacious and has a good selection of books and computers to use. I have yet to rent a book here, so I'll likely update my review when I do. Overall, I really like the Mitchell Memorial Library and will be visiting it again in the near future.

For…read more2 of my 3 classes I had the same professor, he was really helpful and didn't mind staying a few minutes after class to answer questions. The only time I had an issue was when I first started making my schedule was that I was by the college counselor would transfer when I found out a few weeks into class they wouldn't. When I first picked my classes out I wanted to select the advanced photography class to learn more about lightroom and Photoshop. Beginning photography was a prereq but could be skipped due to prior experience (Freelance photographer for 6 years). I got the waiver paperwork filled out and emailed the dean of the department but never heard back. (It may have been too late as it was just a few weeks prior to the start of class) Otherwise this is a great place to finish core classes before transferring and it's cheap as well, I would definitely recommend SCC to someone that is looking for certificates or looking to learn something different.

One of the things I enjoy most is that there's a Starbucks inside, so I can sip on a coffee while browsing through my favorite books. They also have a nice selection of books in Spanish, which I truly appreciate. It's a space that inspires me and is also perfect for my kids. Every Saturday at 2 p.m., they host a storytime event for children, and sometimes they even have fun LEGO-building activities, which my kids really enjoy. Barnes & Noble is a place where my children and I can share our love for reading in a cozy and welcoming environment. All the service is always the most nice and welcoming.

This is essentially a warehouse location that is jam packed with a ton of used items from city offices and public works departments. In the short time I was here I saw water coolers, weed eaters, several office chairs, LOTS of laptops and computers, keyboards, desks, bookshelves...and so much more that listing it all just isn't possible! A note about the computers/laptops - they are in good used condition, but have been "wiped" of all programming and would require purchasing new software that would normally be included in new computers. If you're looking for office supplies like I was today, stop in here for awesome deals on many gently used things. Considering the assortment of items, the interior is well organized and easy to navigate. They're only open on Fridays from 10-4, so mark your calendar and bring a truck.
