Just got back from a fitting with Naiya, who I haven't read any reviews for yet! I came looking for my first proper suit after college, and Naiya knew exactly what to suggest. I wanted a no-frills navy suit, and after trying on just two blazers and one pair of trousers, I was already at the register checking out what both looked and felt like a quality suit. I was out in less than an hour. Naiya was receptive to my concerns and questions, and knew what alterations needed to be done to maximize the suit's potential. If this is the atmosphere supported by the Suitsupply staff, I'll gladly give my recommendation. read more

Brady is an extremely rude associate of this store that I dealt with moments ago. As of July 2022 this store is in shambles. The people at the front door are often rude and short with customers and they currently do not have any store management providing direction. For at least a month they weren't able to answer their phones due to lack of staffing leaving customers to rely on corporate customer service to answer questions that only the store really knew answers to. Which lead to problems I had. I went to pickup my wedding attire mid June and it needed alterations. I was not updated that these had been done come mid July so I called corporate to see if they were all done, they told me that they had been. I went into the store to find out my items had not been touched and were sitting in the downstairs area waiting for alterations still. In addition a custom made pair of pants I ordered, came non custom off the rack and they too needed to be altered based on the measurements that had been taken(another wasted trip) As I am writing this I am prepared to leave for Europe tomorrow for my wedding and recently picked up a pair of pants that were supposed to be overnighted to me three days ago. Brady at the Boston store when asked if there could be some gesture of goodwill offered was rude short and disrespectful to me, taking no responsibility for the issues, numerous unnecessary trips to the store and terrible customer experience. I don't recommend coming to this store for anything important until they are able to get their act together. The only reason I have all my items prior to my wedding is due to my persistence in follow up and planning. The store does have some very nice and helpful associates such as Kevin, Tyson, Dong and Shanshan but overall the store needs to make a lot of improvement. read more

Richard at the Newbury St location does great work. I am large in the chest and shoulders and have a very hard time getting a suit that fits, but he was able to look me up and down and immediately grab a great fitting jacket off of the rack. Very happy with the suit I bought. read more

I can not recommend the Suit Supply. They put me through the worst customer service experience imaginable. In buying a suit for my own wedding I spent 2+ hours waiting for a phone to be picked up and 6+ hours waiting in the store. Even when I was being fitted the associate was juggling three other customers and made me late for my next appointment. Even worse is they lost my groomsman's suits and we had to return several times and are still not sure if they will be ready in time. We started the process 3 months ahead of time. There is a clear lack of management and organization that makes the suits not worth it. Save your time and go to one of the other 'bespoke' suit companies nearby. read more

I have yet to find a better suit for the money, full stop. I'm particular about wanting a slim suit but without those ubiquitous skinny lapels, and Suitsupply has a fantastic array of options for me. It's also *the* best place to go for a suit with some punch: interesting materials (from great mills: Vitale Barberis Canonico, Carlo Barbera, etc), lots of colors and patterns. They've got you covered for the standard office and interview suits, but they really shine when it comes to fun suits for weddings, parties, and things like that. These suits fill their beautiful Newbury St store along with complimentary continental-styled dress shirts, ties, sweaters, shoes, and more. And for all this -- including the alterations, done by in-house tailors -- you can easily get out with a suit for under $1000. It's a tough deal to beat. The only criticism I've ever heard about Suitsupply has to do with the staff, and what I'll say about that is this: they're trained to help the customers who need them most, which is to say someone who doesn't really know what they want but who's in the store to get the Suitsupply look. As such they can be pushy about some of the fit details -- shorter sleeves and trousers, suggesting a lot of minor alterations, and the like. I think, as with most retail stores, you'll get the best result if the overall aesthetic of the brand is what you want, so if you look at their mannequins and their website and love the way everything looks and fits, you're going to be very happy. If you want one of their stand-out suits but, say, like your pants longer and looser, you might have to push back a bit. That said, my personal experiences with the staff at the Boston store have always been excellent: knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. Special shoutout to Ryan, Jess, and Felicia -- I highly suggest working with any of them if you do stop by. I came here a few weeks ago for a made-to-measure suit (they call it custom made) for a couple of summer weddings I have coming up. Was fortunate to have been helped by Oates who went above and beyond to ensure I got what I was looking for. I have a hard time fitting into tailoring, even MTM, but Oates spent well over an hour with me experimenting and trying to ensure I was getting the best fit possible. I'm fairly particular, and he took all of my requests in stride and I came away very satisfied. Great experience overall! read more

Long story short, I have not had a retail experience this bad in many years and I have never been inspired to write a negative yelp review before. Read on for details. I bought a cashmere top coat here for almost a thousand dollars. The associate offered to open up the sewn shut pockets and remove the tags for me before I left, which, at the time, seemed very nice of him. He then explained how you don't wear a pocket square in the breast pocket, but he likes to store his gloves there. He proceeded to show me on the pocket he just opened how he packs the gloves in. The coat was not otherwise altered as it fit perfectly off the rack. After 9 days, I decided I was going to return it as I'd like something a little warmer and preferred slanted hand pockets rather than straight flapped ones. Suitsupply has a 30 DAY full refund return policy and this jacket had never been worn, so I didn't anticipate an issue. THEY REFUSED TO ISSUE A REFUND FOR THE RETURN BECAUSE THE POCKETS HAD BEEN OPENED AND TAGS DETACHED!!! When I explained to them their associate had done this upon purchase, they said they'd ask him as he was downstairs. They came back up and told me he said he did no such thing. I asked to speak with him, and they said he was on break. I asked when his break was over, they said they didn't know! AND THEN... He said only a manager could overturn his ruling, but when I asked to speak to a manager, he said he was the highest ranking employee working and his manager only worked weekdays. I asked what time the manager worked until Monday, as I had to be at work during the day. He said he really couldn't say as he didn't know. NOT DONE YET... He then told me customer service would have the authority to instruct him to authorize. I asked him to please call them, as any retail store would do for you, and he said their phones were incapable of dialing out! THERE'S MORE... So I called customer service from my cell in the store. After waiting 15 minutes on hold, the customer service rep told me she didn't have the authority to instruct the store what to do (which, remember, the store said they did). She then said she was highest ranking employee at customer service and that her supervisor wouldn't be there until the day or two and she didn't know their hours!!!! KEEP READING... At this point, I had been there for more than 45 minutes, so I figured I'd ask again to speak with the lying associate who was on his indefinite break. They said that customer service had instructed them to prohibit me from speaking with him to avoid confrontation! He then said the customer service rep sounded frightened and asked me to stop causing a scene. I know you yelp readers weren't there, but I implore you trust me that my voice had never elevated in volume and I was respectfully doing all of this civilly by the manager's office. My tone was certainly angry as this situation was absurd, but I maintained my pleases and thank yous and never raised my voice, swore or threatened anything. It was at this point that he started to give me the silent treatment and pack up the jacket. He told me I was welcome to continue my efforts with customer service some other time in the future, but there is nothing more he could do. I urge you all to consider ANY other menswear retailer for these product types. There are several terrific bespoke options on Newbury Street. Indochino and Alton Lane are just two of them, both with beautiful products, materials, and treat their customers fairly, politely and respectfully. Indochino in particular has excellent customer service. UPDATE: After posting this review, I received a phone call from the store's senior manager, who finally refunded the money. Could not recommend Fleur more highly. She was SO helpful and friendly as my fiancé shopped for a suit for our wedding. She explained everything she was considering as she picked out suits for him to try and she explained clearly how the tailoring worked. She listened to what we liked and didn't like and offered opinions when it was appropriate. The store has great options at reasonable prices and it was so nice to be able to get a suit and shirt and tie and shoes all in the same spot. Alterations take just a few days. Great experience all around. Ask for Fleur -- she was such a delight. read more

Fantastic experience really helpful and friendly employees. I picked out a few suits to buy and a tux (wedding season is starting). The fabrics are all top notch. The suits are assembled in China but the fabrics are all high end fabrics from Italy or England. The prices are amazing for what you get. I worked with Richard and Kiryll. Went in for a light grey suit for my beach wedding. The salesperson, Dong, spent nearly an hour with me to find a light blue suit that fits me like a glove with very little alterations. As his specialty was made-to-order, he could've easily recommended a more expensive option but chose to save me money. I used the amount I saved on a nice sport coat instead. Oates helped me feel super comfortable and was incredibly helpful in finding a suit that aligned with my own personal style. The staff here is 10/5 stars, and made the whole experience worth it. The only reason why I'm not including all five stars is because I got the suit altered afterwards at Kim's Fashion Design. She made alterations to the jacket, pants, and shirt on A SINGLE DAY'S NOTICE!!! Dropped it all off at 6 pm, and picked up next day at 11. She's a super hero!! Please make sure to go there if you need any work done, she's wicked nice, and a talented tailorer for sure. She's passionate about the work and about making people feel even better in what they got, and for a best fit you really need to go to Kim's. read more

Like other reviewers, I came here with high expectations. I feel that I know something about suits... I own about 10, off-the-rack, custom, made-to-order, a mix of everything. I came in on Sunday to browse. Most associates were professional, polished, and on-point with the Suit Supply narrative. What I like about the product is the variety of supple materials and colors. I am not the guy to wear a pink wool suit, but it's cool that the variety is there. However, ironically missing from that variety are the classic and iconic colors/patterns. I will have to revisit the store if I missed something. I took off some stars because of a conversation I overheard on the second floor. A young guy was trying on a supple indigo suit. The associate gave him some elaborate advice: "You definitely don't want a black suit because here in Boston the service industry wears black. You don't want to get mistaken for a, you know, 'hows your steak sir?'" ... Uh, what?! Taking away the fact that it's a pretty offensive statement, the associate was wearing a khaki suit while making the snide recommendation, so unfortunately these guys already have some bad habits in addition to "calling the kettle black". For a business that caters to suiting, this looks to be the gimmicky place where you can get a green wool double brested jacket with pink silk lining faster than a classic slim black business getup. If you want that customization, Suit Supply will make you one out of anything. I'll probably come back but I don't look forward to explaining my consumer preferences to the one or two bad apples in there. FWIW, like I said, most associates are good. read more

Is it worth $ 71 to save a customer who just spent $3,000 ? Apparently not. I am giving SS 2 stars but to be objective, their Salesperson Oates should receive 5 stars for his service and expertise. Spent over $3,000. Had SS tailor all the suits. Was told I would get an e mail when everything was ready. Never did. Called 2 weeks after and was told yep, everything is here. Told them I would pick it up Friday. Oates wasn't available but Brian helped us. Tried on 2 pairs of slacks that were not even hemmed after I was told everything was done. Brian marked them for hemming and then said the charge was $71. What? I already paid for everything and they didn't do it. No manager around. There were 2 people playing chess in the middle of the area the whole time where I was being fitted. Very annoying. Chess, really? Shouldn't that be in the basement with the cafe ? My GF was livid. The blond, female, presumably the manager, never left the front of the store as if to greet people. I let her know that they really shouldn't be playing chess when customers are present and she replied " I told them not to do that". Good for you. Unfortunately for Oates he lost at least 4 customers today. I told 3 of my friends to go and see him for an upcoming wedding we are attending.He is a really nice guy. CHECKMATE SS! read more

We walked in at 5:00pm and needed to leave by 5:30pm with a suit. We left with a hemmed pant and everything you could need to complete the outfit. (We were lucky, it was a Monday night). I stopped in at Suitsupply this weekend to go shopping for my father for his birthday. I loved the store! They offer such an incredible variety of inventory, with everything being so well made and of such great quality. The staff is so friendly and extremely helpful. As soon as I entered the store I had several associates offering to help me. The associate who did assist me was so knowledgeable and guided me to the perfect gift for my dad! The store also has a lovely cafe downstairs. I loved the latte and pastry that I got there. It was such an enjoyable experience, I will definitely be recommending this store to my family and friends and going back for Christmas gifts! read more

Over the past month I worked with Kyle Rager from the SuitSupply store in Boston to customize a tuxedo for my upcoming wedding. From the first time I visited the store, Kyle was nothing short of exceptional. He took the time to walk me through what options were available, providing valuable advice on what would work well, and explaining the subtle differences in everything down to the pocket lining. He was generous with his time during my three in-store visits and was readily available to answer any questions I had. I felt that Kyle genuinely cares about providing the best possible service, to help me build a tuxedo that fits me perfectly and that I look great in; at every opportunity he went out of his way to ensure that that happened. It felt like I was visiting a personal tailor that I had known for years, when in fact I had just met him a month ago. I had a fantastic shopping experience today at Suit Supply. I just started a new job and was in the market for sleek looking and affordable suits and I was struggling to find a place that met my budget and quality standards. As I was walking back to my car from the Pru I stumbled upon suit supply and decide to view their products. With no intention of buying anything, I was pleasantly greeted by one of the suit supply's eager and caring sales associates, Oates. I mentioned to Oates that I was browsing and that I'm currently starting a new job and wanted to see options they had for me. He was amazing. He said Danny, come with me. He brought me to the second floor and grabbed a blue and grey blazer. I said I was looking for versatility. He said no problem. Come on down stairs and I'll show you other pants and shirts that these blazers mix and match with. I suddenly was impressed with this mans expertise. The choices he picked out were very appealing to me. It was evident that he wanted to present me with plenty of options which I liked. He then made strenuous efforts to make sure everything I tried on fit appropriately. He let me rebuttal and said give me your honest feedback. I tried a suit on out of his suggestion but I later mentioned that I wanted to go the blazer route. I needed something I could wear more frequently. I felt comfortable being honest with him because I saw how excited he was to help me. He truly is an expert with a superb attitude. His level of knowledge will impress many. His service was impeccable. He mentioned at one point during the fittings that I can take a brief intermission and head down to the cafe. I thought this was another example if top knotch service as suit fitting can be tiring. The man is an expert and truly great guy. I told him I'd refer him as many people as possible. I appreciate the service he provided me and look forward to working with him again in the future. read more

These people are nothing short of miracle workers, though maybe it's just the sales representative that I worked with, Matt, during multiple visits throughout this past December. I had been in the market for a tuxedo for a wedding around Christmas as well as a black suit for my choral work, both of which they were able to provide. First, Suitsupply has a pretty good tuxedo package deal, that includes jacket, pants, shirt, and shoes for about $800. Given the quality, I'd say this is actually relatively inexpensive. The tuxedo fit me off the rack, though I needed some work done on the shirt along with a hemming job on the pants. During the entire process of choosing out a style of shirt, shoe, etc., Matt was incredibly helpful and fielded all of my novice questions. It really felt like he was genuinely answering my questions and not just trying to make a sale. I didn't feel taken advantage of at all. Matt also gave me a number to contact him in case I had any questions but couldn't come to the store. What really sealed the deal, though, was that Matt actually took the time to drive the shirt and deliver in person the shirt I got tailored. I had dropped the shirt off that morning, but I needed it back by the end of the day because I was leaving for the wedding the morning after. However, I had choir concert that evening and rehearsal all day and couldn't come in to the store or be home to receive the shirt. I gave Matt the address and phone number of a friend, he actually drove to her apartment building on his way home that night and had to find a way to leave it at the front desk because my friend didn't answer her phone. I actually feel really bad for subjecting this poor man to my carelessness, but Matt truly went above and beyond for me. Thanks to him and Suitsupply, I was able to show up to the wedding in the tux, and it was a hit! Got lots of compliments on fit and style. Outside of that extenuating circumstance, their service is still very good. Every member of the staff is very professional but also incredibly friendly. They also provide bottles of water while you browse or try clothes on for size. It's a very comforting atmosphere they've cultivated. read more
