Extremely grateful for this store and their incredible employees. I dropped my keys getting out of an uber near their store this morning and a postman found them and delivered them to the store. Nearly twelve hours later I realized I had lost my keys. Tried retracing my steps and went into this store in hopes that they might have seen them. They did! They held on to them and even tried contacting the keycards to see if they could figure out my name/number. I wish I had my wallet on me as the store was incredibly cute and I would've loved to have bought something. Will definitely be visiting when I get back from the holidays. Thank you again! read more

We thought the selection was cute in the first floor - then we find that there's a floor below that includes a room full of niche products. A two-story shop that's larger than it looks from the street. The lower level has a great variety of unique greeting cards for those occasions when the drugstore aisle just won't do. I wish they had a bigger selection of books and puzzles, but overall, there's a good range of products and I usually find something cool when I come here looking for a gift. read more

This has been one of my favorite shops in the neighborhood and a must stop in especially when family is in town. Countless times I have gotten gorgeous Christmas ornaments and hilarious individual cards to send here. This shoo has even come in clutch for last minute gift boxes that still need items to be added. Super cute kids section as well and really helpful staff. Some of my fave magnets, coasters, cups, stickers and ornaments are from here and truly unique to the area and local artists. While it's particularly skewed towards women's and baby gifts, it's also got woman's and some nice men's accessories and home goods. So fun! I want all the clocks! Ranging from kitschy camp to craft couture, the goods gifted at Gifted will fit the bill for everyone on your list: the Boston faithful, giddy grandmas, eccentric millionaires, and (as evidenced by my most recent visit) wee little bebes. Fisher Price and Tonka have their place, just not here - Gifted's inventory skews towards the educational, the tactile, and the local (especially when sourcing handmade stuff). Asked a question, "What do two year old girls like?" Realized a little more preface would have been ideal, but I'm in a gift store, so no misinterpretations allowed. Answers came swiftly, and we walked with the coolest gifts Harper B and Elizabeth G will ever get. EVER! Be sure to scout what's downstairs. The South End is littered with small shops offering unique, handcrafted products and Gifted is no exception. There's a nice variety of glassware, pottery, accessories and stationary. I am fairly certain that given a cape and a nice tiara, I could save the world. - One of the very cute wall hangings I saw at Gifted. I've been here a few times and just realized there was a downstairs. Sweet. The store itself is pretty small, even with the downstairs, but there are still a lot of quality finds. Where some stores go wrong having a huge space with a million different things to look through, I think Gifted does a great job of choosing some really awesome local artists. From wall hangings to earrings to knickknacks to napkins.. it's never hard finding a gift for someone that I'm shopping for (and finding WAY too many things for myself). I'm the kind of person that's always buying cards even if there isn't an occasion, and I love what they have here. They carry Naughty Betty as well as cards made by local artists. Oh.. and to tug at your heart strings, the owners do a mission trip each year. It is slightly above my price point, but knowing that the crafts are locally made justifies it. The store is well organized and nicely laid out. The staff is always friendly and never pushy. From artistic postcards to unique earrings to affordable toys and clothes for the kiddos, there's something for everyone. Some of the jewelry seems a bit more expensive than it should be, but it's balanced out by a few items for every price range. I have been here countless times for cards, gifts, and other things to put in my apartment. The owner is the kindest, most professional person ever. I love her "can do" and "help you with anything" attitude; she fixed my jewelry (twice!) and did not charge me the second time even. The jewelry was not even from her store; I got it in Maine. What a cute shop! I saw the Groupon for the store as I was on my way to Boston for a conference, and knew I had to check it out. As luck would have it, we stayed very close by and I even spotted it on our cab ride through the South End on our way to our hotel. We came in on an evening, and I had a terrible time- that is, a terrible time deciding what to purchase from all the great options! The hand blown glass pumpkins are awesome, and I couldn't decide which I liked best. The jewelry was unique and very cool, the scarves were so soft I couldn't believe it, and the baby gifts were hilarious and/or adorable. I decided on a necklace (wound silver bird's nest with blue stone "eggs"), and because I could only narrow down the pumpkins to two, I decided to go for both and give one to my mom (she had a tough time deciding which one to take when I got back home, too!). The gal working there was nice, not as knowledgeable about the shipping procedure as I had hoped, but we decided to just carry our items on to the plane. If I lived locally, this would be a definite stop for gift shopping (and me shopping)! read more

I left here a bit angry and confused. Stopped in this weekend to check out all the local artists' work. Gifted promotes itself as being a shop with work by local artists. I guess what they fail to mention is that they buy cheap handbags made in China too. I looked at these bags that were front and center in the store and thought they didn't look handmade. the staff was busy with other customers so i googled the brand only to discover it's a cheap, faux leather line mass produced in China. I walked away and looked at other pieces, but now it was in my mind that anything could just be a knick-knack or scarf from somewhere else. I guess i would have felt differently in a mall store where i knew everything was "imported", but i felt they were out of place for a boutique that features handmade pieces by local artists. I'd like to see the owners' response to this discovery read more

I had such a wonderful customer experience at Gifted. I picked out earrings and a necklace for a friend for her birthday. The cashier was very helpful with the choice and with wrapping. Unfortunately, the necklace broke as my friend was putting it on. When I returned it, they were able to fix the chain on the spot AND they threw in another pair of earrings for free for my trouble.
