I'm actually so glad that Yelp suggested that I review this place because I had been meaning to but forgot about it. I had such a great experience here that I just checked my email to get the name of the person who helped me. Tayla, who was just awesome, was courteous, friendly, and enthusiastic. I got a nice light blue suit, perfect for spring weddings, and Tayla helped me coordinate the whole outfit with the shirt, shoes, tie, pocket square. She even recommended how I should do my hair lol Suit is great. Have gotten many compliments on it so far. The "custom" process they use is little more than trying to fit your physique into a pre-existing size/template through a few minor adjustments. They take only a few measurements (not even close to what other made-to-measure tailors do). This process might work OK if you have a very average body shape. But if you have an athletic build and a suit drop of more than 8 inches, I wouldn't waste my time. They built 2 separate suit jackets to try to match my athletic build and both looked terrible and they agreed with the flaws I pointed out but said there was nothing else they could do. Total waste of time but at least I received a full refund since I never accepted the suit. read more

I had a good experience with Calvin at my first appointment, where I was actually fitted for my suit and paid for it. It was expensive, but I was prepared for the cost and figured it was worth the investment. I was satisfied with the way the alterations were planned, but I set up another appointment once the suit was ready so that I could try it on before bringing it home, as it was my first time buying a suit with SuitSupply & the suit was for an important occasion. When I came back, I had a completely different experience from my initial appointment. I was briefly greeted by the associate who was meant to handle my appointment, as he was already standing at the front of the store with an iPad in hand. He then immediately turned his back to me and ignored me. I'm not sure if it was because of how I was dressed (more casual than the other customers in the store), so he figured I wasn't there actually to buy anything and thus not worth the time, or if he knew I was there for him and had hoped that, by ignoring me, I would go away. I had to physically get back into his line of sight to get his attention so we could proceed with the appointment. He seemed annoyed to have to deal with me. Once I was in the suit, he was still running around the store, bouncing all over the place, while I was standing there waiting. He walked past me several times, and at one point said, "I'll have time for you in a minute." Not in a normal, "sorry about the wait," sort of way, but in a very haughty tone that felt pointed to make me feel like I was an inconvenience for keeping him from the customers he *actually* wanted to help (the ones who hadn't spent money yet). I spent the time waiting to look at how the suit fit, and I was satisfied. I was about to take the suit off and leave when he came over to confirm what I already knew, basically. At one point, he pointedly let me know that the zipper of my pants was undone, which in the moment felt like another shot at making me feel inferior. He was with me for just a couple of minutes, rushed through the general talking points of what they look for in how a suit should fit, said the suit looked good, and that they'd get it ready in the bag, and I'd be good to go. I take the suit off, wait at the desk, and see that he's now on the complete opposite side of the store, pretending like he doesn't see me. After a few more minutes, a different associate comes by to help. She was nicer, but she was a bit condescending in the way she instructed me to make sure I didn't forget the tie in the pocket of the bag, as if she were talking to an idiot or a child. I don't plan on getting another suit from SuitSupply. I had a decent experience at first, when I was preparing to make a purchase. Once the money was spent, though, it felt like I was no longer worth treating with dignity. Overall, the vibe of the store was pretty miserable & I felt like I was made to feel lesser, as if I was lucky to be shopping there. I personally find it hard to beat the combination of quality and style + price point that Suitsupply offers. I leave here feeling like I look extra fancy at fancy or slightly below fancy cost. Quality pieces, inventive and Uber-organized presentation (I love how items are organized--more by color palette than just rotely by size). The sales associates at this store are insufferable. I think they have a corporate policy to be douchebags to appear cool. In reality it just makes shopping here a pain in the @ss because you're dealing with people who are unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with. They either have no social IQ or are told by their employer to speak with customers in the most difficult and cocky way possible - this is why you don't have repeat customers. I've gone through 2 of their suits and the fabric rips very easily at the crotch area (takes about 6 months). Their suits are made from cheap materials and you'd be better served buying from elsewhere. If you feel compelled to shop here, keep in mind this is a mall store. I can't help it but every time I pass a Suitsupply store and I am amazed on how the mannequins looks so good in their suits, jackets shirts and coats. Red head, Blue head or Purple head guy they all look good. If only I could look as good I would have a closet full of there clothes. But I find there prices out of my budget a shirt I was eyeing is $125 and I don't think they got an outlet store. =( Unfortunately their is no hope for me a Quasimoto look alike, my only hope is in reincarnation and instead of coming back as a turtle or fly I rather be a Suitsupply mannequin so I can stand and pose all day in style. read more

Disorganized - I went into the store to pick up the final alteration the day after receiving an email from the company saying it's reading for pick up. I waited 30 mins for the standby appointment in the store. Then, the store reps however spent the next 30 mins trying to find my suit in the backroom. It was an hour of my free time after work wasted at this extremely disorganized store, which seems to not even able to find your suit. The store should be 1) confirm if the shipment has arrived and could be found first before checking in their clients to wait for 30 mins+, 2) be on top of where the shipments are located. Overall, awful xp in the pick up for my final alteration. Wasted a lot of time for this vortex of chaos. read more

This place doesn't even have mirrors in or anywhere near the fitting room. So you have to parade yourself out in to the store and wander around looking for a mirror only to find out the item doesn't fit. This is just another example of their poor customer service. read more

This company has major problems, and I do not recommend trying to get a custom suit from them. I should say first that every individual human I interacted with was great, including the stylist who helped fit me (Edward), and the poor folks who answer the phone at customer service. However, the suit I ordered somehow got lost on the way to the Hudson Yards shop. I noticed this by checking the tracking info about a week after it was scheduled to arrive. No one ever answers the phone at the shop, so I had to communicate with the central customer service office. They didn't know what was going on. At one point they started an 'investigation' about the lost shipment. But weeks kept going by. I asked them just to re-order the suit, but they said they couldn't do that without speaking to someone at the Hudson Yards store. Apparently they never got any response from the store, after many repeated attempts. That seems pretty nuts. Eventually the central office did just re-order the suit, but then a few days later cancelled it again because it would not arrive before the day I needed to wear it. I got a full refund, but wasted quite a bit of time (4 emails, about 5 phone calls, many weeks) and then had to rush out to buy a suit off a rack somewhere. Anyway, this company seems quite disorganized: the customer service office is unable to communicate with the local shops (or at least, this one shop), and as a result, orders can just fall through the gaping cracks. UPDATE: Suitsupply responded to this review (see below) asking me to email service@suitsupply.com so they can "rectify" the situation. The irony is that I already had many email conversations with that email address. In fact, they forwarded me several messages they themselves had sent to the Hudson Yards store that went unanswered. In the end the people at that customer service office told me there simply was no solution other than a refund. read more

Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous how bad the service here was. My friend was in need of a suit so we came to check this place out. The workers here are so condescending, arrogant, cocky and just have no sense of customer service. My friend listened to one of the associates recommendations. They chose a full suit, tie, pants, and shoes adding to a total of 1300 dollars. As they were about to charge my friend, good thing I double checked the items because they were about to charge an extra 130 dollars for a dress shirt we didn't even get. Honestly, this mistake was ok and understandable because it happens. My friend needed his pants to be hemmed and they told us it would be a 30 minute wait. We ended up waiting for about and hour just for them to tell us that they used the wrong thread and it would have be taken out and redone. We waited ANOTHER 25 minutes just to get our pants. When we finally got the email to pick up the whole package, they forgot to give us the shoes we bought. Since it was already a long day, my friend and I forgot about the shoes and went home. Once we got home, realized the shoes were not in the bag. We had come to the realization that they never handed us the shoes. Keep in mind, hudson yards is a 50 minute subway ride for us so we had to revisit the next day. When we went into the store, the associates were nothing but disrespectful. We weren't looking for a discount, or an apology but the team members felt the need to constantly push the blame back to us. "It's your fault for not remembering what you purchased. You should've double checked and asked for the shoes. I don't get what the issue is here". All we did was state the inconvenience that we experienced as paying customers, and they felt as if they were attacked. They looked at us as if confused as to what's wrong. Absolute ridiculous. We spent 10 minutes in store getting ridiculed by the employees, all telling us that they don't know what they want us to do because we're here now and we got our shoes. The one associate who consistently felt the need to disrespect and even push that it was not their fault was Khalid. Khalid continued to argue that we should've double checked and that the inconvenience was caused by us. We told him about the inconvenience that these events caused and he did not care. Their cocky and arrogant attitudes persisted and it got to the point where we just felt like it's not worth the fight. Here I am on Yelp, writing a dreadful review of one of the WORST customer experiences I've ever had and I see multiple 1 star reviews with the same complaint. For the amount this company is charging for suits, their service and employees are terrible. they will never get my business again. read more

I had an amazing experience with Devon Jenkings, who was very professional analyzing what my style was, and tailoring the perfect look for me. We went through various tries patiently, with dedication and care. they have so many options for suits, shirts, and even just casual wear. As any young professional living in NY, or just visiting, this is a must. This is what you want your shopping experience to always be like! take 30 min or 1 hour of your time and just make the most of their professionalism, and expertise in finding your best suit for work or weddings. Horrible experience. I have purchased about 4 suits over the year at their midtown location. I was very happy with the product and the service. Sasha was a knowledgeable and non pushy sales associate. Fast forward to a month ago. I decide to purchase a 5th suit, but make the horrible decision to visit Suit Supply's Hudson Yards location. The sales associate I dealt with was polite (I'll leave out his name so he doesn't suffer any negative repercussions) and I found a suit I liked. Then the problems started. Three fittings later and I still wasn't happy with the tailoring. After the first failed fitting, my salesperson seemed annoyed I simply didn't just take the suit and go. By the second failed fitting, , he seemed more interested in selling me on their custom made suit option than fixing the current problem of my ill fitting suit. Nary a manager ever came forward to intervene or make an offer to address the problem. The mentality was certainly one of "you bought the suit, now it's your problem". After the third fitting, I took the suit and left in frustration. Finally taking it to an outside tailor who actually took the time and effort to have it fit correctly. Granted I only paid short of a $1000 with alterations, and don't expect perfection, but damn, make an attempt. To boot, one can feel the arrogance emanating off of the sales people. When I arrived for my final fitting, the salesman I had been dealing with was occupied with another customer, so he gently asked another salesperson if he could get my suit. Mind you this salesman was doing NOTHING, yet he acted like this task asked of him was Herculean. Do yourself a favor. Avoid the arrogance and ineptitude. Walked in looking for a suit for my wedding and Ryan was an amazing help. As soon as I walked up to him I was pleasantly greeted and he was very eager to help. He walked me through the process of ordering a custom suit or picking out an off the rack one. Ended up choosing to get a custom made one and Ryan made the whole process quick and easy. There's bad service - and then there's Suit Supply in Hudson Yards. I went to this store looking for a tuxedo for my brothers wedding a few months away. After waiting an extra 45 mins, they finally set me up with David to do the tux fitting. To start, they also gave David another customer to work with so he was going back and forth between the two of us. He didn't provide any recommendations or pay attention to detail, I could tell he was just trying to get me a tux as quick as possible. He provided zero expertise - it felt like it was his first day on the job. But the worst part was there was other associates in the store folding clothes providing zero help. When I finally said I was going to try another store they simply shrugged and said ok. It's a horrible store and not one you want to go to for a big event. Try brooks brothers next door, better quality and much better service! read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE SUIT & SHIRT WILL RIP! I bought a new suit and shirt for my 30th birthday. I wore it one time to a family wedding and it ripped most likely on the dancefloor. Suit Supply will not give me any reimbursement for the Suit and said it was my fault. If I could give it ZERO stars I absolutely would. The Manager went on to say that I was the one who ripped the suit and shirt excessively and that it wasn't from wear and tear. The suits here obviously are vulnerable and not high quality. How you can you respect a Brand that doesn't protect there customers and calls you a liar. Absolutely Absurd and I will continue to post on here so others are aware. read more

This location in Hudson Yards is pretty amazing. It was only about a week old when I stopped by. The store is large and has a great view of The Vessel. The selection of clothing was large and appeared to be larger than other SuitSupply locations I've been to although I could be wrong. The staff seemed happy and excited to be there and I was frequently engaged by staff to see if I needed anything. read more

From end to end, I not only had the best experience finding a fabric/style, being fitted, and building a custom suit, but I feel like I learned more about menswear and suiting than I had in decades of wearing suits. Most importantly, I feel like I gained a friend. My salesperson, Tim Hartley Smith, who helped me from the moment I walked into Suit Supply at Hudson Yards (after procrastinating wayyy too long to get fitted and pick a suit, only to find out the suit I wanted was unavailable) kept me calm and collective as we found a better alternative. Tim is straight forward and honest. He will offer his advice if you want it.......and you should take it! This man is dapper from head to toe and is an inspiration to me. He took me through all the "dos" and "donts" of suiting and fitted me for a custom suit that I can't even begin to express my gratitude to him for just how well this suit fits and makes me look. I honestly wish I could have Tim help me custom fit my entire wardrobe. This man is stylish! I learned so much about menswear from Tim and every time I came to the store, I felt a warm and comfy feeling. I was greeted with smiles and treated with respect and professionalism. He truly made this experience fun and easy. I not only feel like I learned a ton about suits and gained a good friend, but I also know for certain I chose the right store and got lucky with the right salesperson! I can't thank Tim enough. Had an awesome experience buying a suit from Suitsupply at Hudson Yards. Needed the suit on time for an event, and they went out of their way to make sure I got everything on time. Collection was wide to choose from. Ask for Erle when you are there - he was exceptional. His knowledge starting from the right kind of fabric, to the right fit and style for different body types was amazing. He took his time, listened to all my requirements, and was super helpful when it came to selecting the right suit. Rest of the staff was extremely helpful as well, and safe (everyone wore masks, sanitizer bottles everywhere). Going back soon for some sport coats and may be a summer suit. read more
