An amazing day spa! Everything is just a bit elevated from all other day spas. No chemicals, they use loose Himalayan salt and fresh aloe plant with your pedicure. My facial was the most relaxed and glowing my face has ever been. The hand and foot massage with the facial was outstanding. Everyone is knowledgeable and helpful and kind. Not relaxing overall, the lady who performed the treatment aggressively scratched my scalp for the entire time. The website claims that you'll receive a head massage which I never did. I seriously thought she was using a sharp comb but realized it was her nails. Water was getting in my nose and ears. I really couldn't wait for it to be over. I'm really disappointed in the service that I had at this place and even more so that I have to leave a bad review. I am always fair and try to hold back when I have a bad experience because everyone could just have a bad day. My husband and I got a couples massage, and we were greeted by a very friendly lady at the front. His experience with her as her masseuse was great. My experience on the other hand, wasn't. I got one of the male masseuse, who I am almost confident has never done a massage before and that's where the uncomfortable experience started. He added more oil on my body than I've ever experienced, he spent more time adding oil than actually giving me a massage. I asked for a soft massage, but it didn't feel like a massage at all. I've had plenty of massages in the past, to the point where I know the difference between a good massage, and someone who seemed to not have any experience at all. I'm really sorry for even having to leave this bad review but my experience is just not ok. Towards the end, he moved to the top of my shoulders and he was massaging me from the front instead of the back so his thumbs kept going into my throat and I felt like I was gonna choke. It all sounds like a joke but it's not. On the room part, the bed was super squeaky so any movement would make the bed make noise and it took away from the experience. My husband even brought it up afterwards. In the bathroom, the towels are stained and looked dirty. I left the place feeling super uncomfortable. Please, do better. read more

Very expensive and not good quality Recently, I had my first experience with Suki Day Spa and I can very confidently say, thankfully my last. The salon itself is FAR from luxurious. It is very run down and small. It's probably a given, but being located in downtown, parking was difficult, as well. The headspa room was cramped, to say the least. As one worker was giving my best friend her headspa, she kept knocking into my arm, obviously disturbing me while I was attempting to enjoy my service. The workers kept speaking to one another which was also very unnerving as we are both trying to relax. The manicure pedicures were an even worse experience. This place was so nice! I was so relaxed I think I was snoring! This was my first head spa experience and it was so relaxing. It was kind of the staff to let me know ahead of time that their neighbors are loud and that they bang on the walls sometimes. That was courteous. My only bother was that the location is in downtown. With the homelessness crisis, I try to avoid downtown and because of the rise in parking rates. Parking for 2 hours was about $22, so that plus my spa service, i spent about $180. read more

The pedicure included callus removal, lemon salt scrub, and a fresh aloe rub for moisturizing before my toes got pretty. Suki relived the nice lady that trimmed and files my nails in order to paint a "double frnch manicure." Man that sounds as high maintenance as it is... But, I am going to a wedding this weekend so that justifies it (I think!) Anyhow, pricing was at a premium. But, they do have memberships that allow a pedi, message, or facial each month that help to drop the price significantly. Ask her about the tax deduction...seriously! Cute location with friendly staff. That's unfortunately where the positives end. Here were the issues with my massage: - Big language barrier; I couldn't communicate my needs and preferences. - Cheap, creaky massage tables and very uncomfortable face cradles with very little padding. - No pattern or symmetry to the massage. I didn't know where she was going to go next, unlike most massages that work both sides of your body equally. - Long fingernails that poked my skin. - Weird draping. The therapist tucked the sheet into my underwear instead of doing normal drapes. So strange and it kept giving me wedgies! - She asked me if I was OK (about 12 times during the massage) but then if I winced or pulled away when the touch was too hard she didn't even notice. I had to ask for less pressure multiple times (and I'm usually a firm pressure person). read more

Not professional services. I cant believe they charge for nails when a kid could have done a better job. I spent around $400 for massages and nails for me and my daughter and when i contacted them to get a refund on the lumpy toe nail polish for my daughter, the sloppy work on my toes and her fingers, they did not make it right. Hi. I checked out Suki Day Spa in downtown San Diego for a 30 min. foot massage for $29. It was pretty good! I was feeling unbalanced from too much partying and decided to walk in and met Sunshine who did an excellent foot massage for me. I paid an extra 6 bucks for some kind of special salt that takes out toxins, worked into the feet with the hot /warm water. I came out of there feeling balanced and ready to get all-around healthy (nutrition and all that). I highly recommend Suki Day Spa for foot massage (they also do manicure, pedicure and full body massage). Check it out if you need quality therapy at a reasonable price. read more

When we arrived we were greeted and started our services promptly. The massage was incredible. They were responsive to what kind of pressure we wanted and professional. The pedicure was heavenly. My experience was awkward, at best. I chose Suki because they had pretty good all around reviews and were open late. I'm in San Diego for a conference and wanted to get a pedicure & wax before work stuff got moving, so I called ahead before boarding my flight. I made an appointment for 7:30pm. I showed up on time, expecting to get the wax done first so I wouldn't have to take my jeans on & off over a fresh pedicure, but they wanted to start my pedicure first. Fine. After the soaking & filing & a base coat, I was brought upstairs for my wax. My pedicurist had asked if she could watch my wax because she was in training and I said okay. So imagine my surprise when an ADDITIONAL observer showed up while I was already getting waxed! ummmmmm... On top of that, this was probably one of the most painful waxes I've had since I gave up getting Brazilians. The strategy seemed to be to bury me in baby powder and hope that would work (eventually the "in training" person offered me a towel to shield my shirt from powder about halfway through). The supposed professional/trainer had no sense of how to hold tension to decrease pain and get the max out of each strip. This morning I'm legitimately bruised down there. And then, when it came time to tweeze a few extra hairs, she said she had to leave "for a class" and left the 2 trainees to tweeze a little bit. At this point I was in shock. I finally got led back downstairs for the half-assed remainder of my pedicure (she didn't bother to clean up the polish on my skin and the tips just look messy). The grand total? $105. Pedicure: $39, Wax: $66 !!!!!! While at EWC or Waxing the City, I'm happy to pay the equivalent of a Brazilian for Bikini + butt strip, this was insane. Maybe you get better treatment if you're a regular, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone passing through. read more
