I absolutely LOVE my summer gel nails! Yuki is incredibly talented and always pays attention to every little detail. She takes her time to make sure everything is perfect, and her work is always flawless. The soft milky white with the delicate seashells, sparkle, and gold starfish is elegant, classy, and perfect for summer! Not only is she amazing at what she does, but she's also so kind, professional, and makes every appointment such a relaxing experience. My nails are beautiful, durable, and I constantly get compliments on them. If you're looking for a nail technician who truly loves her craft and delivers stunning results every time, I can't recommend Yuki enough. Thank you for making my nail dreams come true!

I come to this place all the time and every single time my nails come out fantastic. This time especially, my nail tech Mannie was awesome. The salon is cute and clean, and everyone was friendly. My pedi went well, I did the lemon & flower with sea salt pedi with Yomi who was very sweet and gentle. I prefer more firmness on the massage but I didn't say anything-too tired! And just let her do her thing. Overall great experience and I will be back for another pedi in future.

She is always super sweet, checking in, and making sure it is exactly how you like it. I went back here to get my nails fixed multiple times!

I loved getting taken care of at AO! I walked in on a Tuesday morning and they took me right away and did a nice simple gel manicure. It was super quick, they were very nice, and the staff seem very knowledgeable, get along well, and are all very well rounded in skill. Along with my gel manicure, I was also able to get my eyebrows waxed in just a few minutes which was also quick and as painless as it can get. My boyfriend had a business meeting, and I had some time to kill, so I decided to treat myself and get my nails done. Based on Yelp reviews, I chose this place for a little self-care on my day off. I booked a gel mani + pedi combo ($80, 1 hr 30 min) online to make sure I'd get in on time. I arrived about 15 minutes early and told them I had an appt for the gel combo and they were able to seat me right away. The salon wasn't too busy and just a couple of other clients. I was asked to pick out a color and directed to a spa chair for my pedicure. I noticed a younger female employee sitting nearby, watching a male technician work on another client's pedicure. It looked like she was in training, which I completely understand because everyone has to start somewhere, and I appreciate that she was eager to learn. However, she ended up being the one assigned to me. She was very kind and polite, but it quickly became clear that she was inexperienced. I have a manicure license myself, so I can usually tell when techniques aren't quite there yet. Sometimes I just want to relax and be pampered rather than do my own nails, which is why this was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, the results didn't meet expectations. My big toenail came out crooked, and my cuticles, which are usually my favorite part of the service were barely cleaned up if even touched. It felt like I paid close to $150 just to soak my feet, polish, and a massage. The service took almost two hours, and at the end, she offered a complimentary shoulder massage. While I appreciated the gesture, it felt a bit awkward as I was seated facing a printer while she massaged my shoulders and also felt like an afterthought. When I went to the front to pay, I was expecting the $80 I had booked. Instead, I was told my total was over $100. I politely asked why, since I had scheduled the gel mani/pedi combo, and was told it was because I received a "spa" pedicure, which costs more. However, this was never explained during booking or before the service started. The website didn't mention any upgrade or price difference, and I wasn't given an option to approve or decline it beforehand. That lack of transparency was frustrating and honestly added to the disappointment. I genuinely feel bad leaving a negative review because the girl was very nice, but overall, I left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied with the quality of the service. This review is LONG overdue…read more I had an amazing first time with Miss Kelly mid 2024. Before Miss Kelly's Brazil Appeal Waxing, I had been to several other salons. I had been going to one of these salons for at least 3 years. Her suite is currently located in the plaza across H-Mart and 24 Hour Fitness off of Balboa Ave in a secured building on the second floor. Her suite is cozy for Miss Kelly, her client, and the equipment she needs. I highly recommend Ms. Kelly and her services - both to those who are sensitive to pain, and even the "veterans" who have learned to "tough it out." Before booking, please take the time to read her website. You will notice that her pricing is higher than the regular waxing/sugaring establishments. This is because she takes her time prepping you and doing the wax itself, which is also why your appointment will be longer (this varies, of course). This is why the pain level is much more tolerable, and makes the price worth it. It has been a while since my first appointment with Ms. Kelly, but I have returned several times since. I unfortunately had to pause my appointments with her, but await the day that I can resume my appointments. Ms. Kelly is a gem and I CANNOT recommend her enough!

I read about her before booking the appointment and it said she was the employee with the most time in the company. However, her attitude was tremendously horrible. I have to clarify that I arrived on time to the place, but the girl at the lobby was attending another client and was giving her a full introduction about all the packages and promotions they have, and afterwards she proceeded to charge her for the service she had taken. The receptionist took around five to six minutes doing it, until I had to interrupt her and tell her that I had an appointment at 5:30 pm with Shardonnay. It is at that moment that she notified Shardonnay of my arrival. When Shardonnay received me, she had an extremely negative attitude with me, since from the moment she greeted me, she did not allow me to go to the bathroom (which I needed) and started giving me a lecture about punctuality, without even asking me or asking herself or asking receptionist girl, if I had arrived late or if something had happened at the reception. It was to the point that she was not even able to greet me, but very frustrated about her tight schedule, she basically started scolding me and telling me that the service was not going to be the best because she only had 8 minutes to attend me since she had another client after me and that I "had arrived late"... Now, it is important to clarify that if that had been the case, the place policies give a 8-minute window to the client to arrive and still receive a good service. However, she kept saying that the service wouldn't be the best. At first I stayed quiet, but after she kept literally blaming and scolding me, I told her to do her job, but that I did not agree with her attitude, cause of course she had a very bad attitude cause of her frustration. She kept arguing and arguing until I literally had to tell her "just do your job". Very shamelessly she tried not to attend me because she now felt that I was angry, thing that I did not allow her to do because I did not drive from Chula Vista to Miramar, 30 minutes, for her to cancel my appointment just because she was in a bad mood. I sat down and took my service. She did a Brazilian service in 5 minutes. It hurt a lot, of course, because she was already upset and also in a rush, so she was very rough when pulling the wax. Afterwards she realized her mistake and started apologized, to which I literally responded that she didn't have to, what she did was already done. I only made her aware that I arrived on time, the receptionist took time attending another client, and I paid the price for it. So she can keep the apologies and that for next time she learn the lesson and at least she can greet and say what she have to say in a proper way. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY NO, and especially not with her. She may have been working there for many years, but her service and customer attention is THE WORST. She could have gained a loyal client, but because of her rudeness she did not.

When my nail technician completed my manicure, she announced, "same!" as if she declared out-loud my powdered pearlescent nails are now magically transformed into the requested nude chrome color. I wish they would've told me upfront that this cannot be done. I would not request for anything out of the basic mani pedi here.

I'm honestly baffled by the 4.2-star rating for AO Nails because my experience was nothing short of terrible. I decided to give them a try for Gel X nails, something I'd never had before, hoping for a long-lasting and beautiful result. Unfortunately, my nails barely lasted a week before they started popping off. To make matters worse, the little gemstones they added began falling off within just five days of getting them done. I can't help but feel that Gel X is a shortcut for lazy nail technicians who don't want to put in the effort of applying acrylic. The outcome of my nails was far from what I had expected, especially considering the hefty price tag. I ended up paying over $100, including a tip, for nails that had no polish, just a base coat with some gems haphazardly attached. Adding to my disappointment, the nail technician didn't utter a single word to me throughout the entire process. It's one thing to offer late hours, but it's meaningless if the quality and customer service are subpar. I would strongly advise against visiting AO Nails. I certainly won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone. Save your time and money and find a salon that values its customers and delivers on quality. read more

The govt finally lifted orders for nails salons to open! After shopping around couple places, stumbled upon this gem place that is newly open. I was able to make an appointment with ease during COVID-19. When I walked in, the place was beautiful and the tables and chairs were all socially distanced. The worker was wearing masks and taking precaution during this pandemic. Free WiFi all around and they even let me play my music through their wireless speakers in store. I felt very comfortable and safe through the whole process. The pricing were very reasonable and even had a discounted rate during this pandemic to accommodate. They took the time and did not feel rushed to rush me out of the store to move onto the next appointment. I started getting eyelash extensions in 2010, but I always struggled with washing my face. The lashes felt harsh and hurt my eyes. Recently, a friend recommended AO Nails and Lashes, so I decided to give it a try. It was a completely different experience. The quality of their products is much better, the price is reasonable, and my extensions last longer. Best of all, I can wash my face in the shower without any discomfort. I work hard to enjoy getting my hair and nails done. I get my nails done every 2 weeks to keep it on point. It took quite some time to find the right nail salon. With nails and hair i'm very selective with people that can see that detail in work they do. Grace and Leona are my go to's, if they aren't there im going home lol. read more
