He assumed because I was presenting a voluntary project (on my end) I was asking for some type of favor. Call these guys if you want to be cut off multiple times and talked down to. Still offered to do the work when he realized I expected to pay after being cantankerous the entire time. Not counsel for creators, just a regular old impatient jerk of a lawyer. Editing to add that I had to call the office to get them to call me at the scheduled time. No respect for a your time when they are late to a scheduled call. Editing to respond: one of my business partners walked in during this call and immediately remarked on the tone being dismissive and rude. After them making that observation I immediately called the front desk to ask that the summary not be moved forward as to not waist more time. Then another person called back asking why I called and I told them again. So I guess communication is an issue all around. There were no "pointing toward other resources", which we didn't need anyway, just being written off until I had to insist, somewhat astoundingly, that I expected to pay. Then I gave you a quote I had already gotten from another lawyer. Then a price was finally put forth. It has been mentioned in other yelp reviews that you push ppl to write good reviews and I should have been more wary of that possibility. I'm not sure your reviews reflect anything other than a business strategy.

The team provided me with information that helped me to get a better understanding of the issue. I think they are a solid company to use for legal advice with 2 general caveats. 1.) As the client, you need to come in having performed basic research (a la Google). This will help you get the most bang for your buck. 2.) FOLLOW-UP. I have worked with attorneys, I have a Masters of Law, and volunteered at legal clinics, the client that vehemently follows up may be annoying but they get remembered. Be an advocate for yourself. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because I am a hard grader. I work in professional services and have supreme high standards when it comes to rating services. I've seen the best and work with the best so I don't give out 5's casually. The service has to wow me AND surpass all my expectations with a soupçon of over and above. This wasn't that. But their service was as promised, effective, and delivered. That makes them a solid option and better than other lawyers that will take your money, leave you naked, and make you bitter about working with attorneys. I recommend them.

At the beginning, the consultation sounded professional and reassuring. However, as the case progressed, communication became increasingly frustrating. The original attorney and translator who first handled our case both left the firm within about a year, and the new team that took over seemed unfamiliar with the details of our situation and our expectations. We often felt we had to repeatedly explain the case from the beginning. One of our biggest concerns was billing transparency. We were surprised to see significant charges for tasks that appeared very basic, including researching public information, locating addresses, or searching online profiles. We understand legal work involves preparation behind the scenes, but many billable entries felt excessive relative to the actual progress of the case. Another frustrating issue was the lack of meaningful updates. Long periods would pass with little communication, while billing continued regularly. From a client perspective, it often felt like more effort was being spent generating billable hours than actively moving the case toward resolution. We also noticed a major difference between the level of attention given before signing the contract and the level of responsiveness afterward. Ironically, the detailed public response to our review felt more organized and thorough than much of the communication we experienced during representation. We understand litigation is difficult and no law firm can guarantee outcomes. This review reflects only our personal experience as clients. We simply hope future clients ask detailed questions about staffing continuity, billing practices, communication expectations, and case management before retaining this firm.

I consulted several lawyers for my case, and I can confidently say that Wendy is leagues ahead of the others in terms of expertise, responsiveness, honesty, and service toward clients. To top that, she provided me with unique perspectives (on a very challenging landlord-tenant situation) and options none of the other 3-4 highly rated lawyers I consulted even thought of, and she did it without needing hours or days to research related laws--she is truly an expert and applies her utmost knowledge and experience to provide her clients with all the best possible legal options, to mitigate their loss or optimize their success. I've been meaning to write this review for a long time to share my experience, but never quite got around to it. From the very first meeting to the very end, I'm truly grateful for Cliff for the service and support I received. Cliff was professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. It made a difficult and stressful time (5 uears) much more manageable. I felt heard, respected, and well taken care of every step of the way. About two years into the payment plan, I was at a dead end, and was not able to continue making the payments because of the yearly increase. Thankfully, Cliff managed to find ways to help reduce the monthly payment tremendously. I remembered I broke down in tears on the day I received the discharge notice. Thank you again for everything Cliff -- I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services to anyone in need.

This is the second time my family has used Abkarian Law Group, and both experiences have been excellent. They have always been there to answer our questions, returned our calls and emails promptly, and made sure we understood what was happening throughout the process. They were also very fair and generous when it came to their fee. Since this was our second time working with them, they reduced their fee for us as returning clients, which meant a lot to our family. Most importantly, the outcome was better than we initially anticipated, and we couldn't be happier with the results. When you are dealing with a legal matter, you want attorneys you can trust, who will communicate with you and genuinely care about helping you. That has absolutely been our experience with this firm. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an attorney. After two great experiences with this firm, I would absolutely choose them again and recommend them to anyone looking for an attorney they can trust. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with this law firm. Before moving forward with my…read morecase, I made it very clear that I did not have the financial means to cover medical bills out of pocket. I repeatedly asked whether my case was strong enough to pursue, and I was consistently reassured that it was. Based on that reassurance, I agreed to move forward. However, the outcome did not reflect the confidence that was initially communicated, and I was ultimately left in a difficult financial position. One of my biggest concerns was the lack of direct communication. Despite requesting to speak with the attorney handling my case, I never had the opportunity to do so. Instead, I was assigned a case manager who, in my experience, did not seem fully informed about the details or progress of my case. Overall, I feel that my expectations were not properly managed, and I wish there had been more transparency about the risks involved. I would encourage others to make sure they have direct access to their attorney and a clear understanding of potential outcomes before proceeding. I need to correct several points in your response because that was not my experience. At no point did I have a direct conversation with you where any of this was clearly explained. In fact, despite multiple requests to speak with the attorney handling my case, I was never given that opportunity. All communication was handled through a case manager, who, from my understanding, had very limited experience at the time and was not able to adequately answer my questions or explain the situation in detail. Before moving forward, I repeatedly asked whether this was a case worth pursuing, specifically because I could not afford to take on medical expenses without a reasonable expectation of recovery. I relied on the reassurance provided by your office. If this case was truly as limited as you are now stating, that should have been clearly and directly communicated to me by the attorney not relayed indirectly or left unclear. Instead, my case was taken on, I proceeded with treatment, and then the case was dropped shortly after, leaving me in a difficult financial position. To make matters worse, I was not even properly notified that my case had been dropped. For something this serious, that level of communication is unacceptable. That financial impact may not seem significant from your perspective, but for an everyday person, it absolutely is. This is exactly why I asked those questions upfront. This experience reflects a lack of direct communication and transparency, which is the main issue I raised in my original review.

This whole thing dragged on for a while, and honestly it was one of the more stressful periods I've been through. There were a lot of moving parts, a lot of uncertainty, and plenty of moments where I didn't know what to expect next. But the team at Carbon Law was there through all of it. Pankaj in particular made a huge difference for me. He was patient, easy to reach, and never made me feel rushed when I had questions or just needed things explained again. More than anything, he helped me stay calm through a situation that could have easily overwhelmed me. That kind of steady support is hard to find, and it made a real difference in how I got through this.
