I was staying at my friends' house in Highlands Ranch and found Summits Yoga Littleton after Googling nearby studios. Signing up was easy peasy. I'm an avid Mind Body app user, so I was able to register for a drop-in class for Saturday at 9:30am with Jen. I felt really welcomed in the lovely studio. Jen helped get my friend and I setup for the class. She proactively set up mats with towels by the door and explained expectations for the class. Based on the class description, I thought the class was going to be a regular vinyasa class. Jen explained that the class was like a hot yoga/vinyasa fusion, which I enjoyed a lot. When I first started my yoga practice, I was doing a lot of Bikram so I totally saw the elements of Bikram interweaved in the flow. I liked the vinyasa flow elements as well, which is my own personal preference these days. I got a great sweat and walked out feeling cleansed and grounded. read more

I live in DTC and frequent the other studio multiple times a week. Today was my first time back at the Littleton studio in a couple of years. If good people are your vibe, this place is a must. Leah, specifically made my week after a long and difficult one. Beautiful instruction and a clear, passion for the practice. I travel a decent amount for work and always bring my mat in search of studios out of state. So far, I cannot find one that compares. I've practiced yoga on my own for years, but was always intimidated by the thought of taking a class. I was lucky enough to be gifted a free class at Sumit's, and I fell in love with it! Like other reviewers have said, classes at Sumit's are yoga with friends! I was really grateful to Taryn at the front desk telling me what to expect when I arrived for my first class. I came here for a Yelp event on Tuesday. I met April, the owner and she is quite energetic and fun. The space is large and super modern. Before starting, April stated that Sumits is a hot studio, but just for the Yelp event, she kept the door open. I got a really good workout and sweated a lot, so I was glad that she kept the door open. April played some fun music during yoga, which wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but it wasn't terrible either. One thing I didn't like was that the music was on so loud that April had to yell the moves and it was difficult to understand and hear her at times. One thing I do especially like is that April refers to us as "my angels," which is pretty awesome. I also wasn't a fan of people wearing their shoes into the studio. One thing is that fellow Yelpers may not be aware of the unspoken rule about wearing dirty outside shoes into a yoga studio, but I think that Sumits should have informed people that shoes needed to stay outside. read more

I took a free public outdoor yoga class in Sunken Gardens Park in Denver, so I have never been to their actual studio location. That being said, the Sumits Yoga team, led by April, taught the class and I wanted to recognize how positive the experience was. Though at first the almost overwhelming positivity of the instructor seemed laughable, when I realized halfway through class that 1.) we were already halfway to the end and 2.) I'd been smiling and laughing the entire time, I suddenly became aware of what an amazing class it was. We flowed through poses at the perfect rate and April placed emphasis on meeting your body where it was. For example, if you couldn't tough your head to your legs, simply bend your legs to meet your head! Her ability to make everyone feel like they were getting the most out of their yoga practice was awesome. read more

I am totally new to hot yoga and am so happy my neighbor introduced it to me. They had a $20 for 2 weeks of unlimited classes newcomers special. I was a bit hesitant since I didn't even know if I would want to go to another class after my first one, but decided to go ahead and do it. I am so glad that I did! April and Kim are the co-owners and they are both so kind and very cool. My first couple of classes were with Kim. So lucky--she is great. Aimee is awesome and uplifting! Melissa is wonderful too--love her cool wash cloths at the end of class. Really enjoyed April's class--positive energy and nurturing. All the teachers are sooo fabulous!!! The studio is very clean and definitely spa like dressing rooms. They have everything you may need if you end taking a shower there--hairdryer, ear swabs, deodorant, etc. What a true gem of a place. Feels so good to sweat and move!!! So so good... Kim and April are fantastic yoga teachers and make class fun, challenging, and pretty much awesome for all levels-- including students brand new to the practice. This studio is brand new and they made it beautiful. Attention to details all the way. They have towel service, very clean changing rooms, showers, and the studio is big with room for lots of students. The heat system feels amazing. Nothing beats a sweaty class of conscious movement to exciting upbeat music. This is what hot yoga should feel like! If you're familiar with Bikram yoga... Add great music, vinyasa flow, and very encouraging-supportive teachers guiding you through the practice. There's no attitude or silly competition in this wonderful studio. Just hot yoga, kind people, and a very beautiful space to experience this amazing Sumits yoga. I can't say enough nice things about Sumits Littleton. This is as good as it gets with some very warm loving people running a fantastic place to learn, practice, and develop your understanding of yoga. Go try it out. Don't be afraid. Went today not knowing anything about hit yoga. My experience as a beginner to yoga was AMAZING! How happy and glad I did go in! The teacher was so kind, graceful and she kept the class on a spiritual and physical journey! I loved the heat it was not too hot at all for me! Wow! Everyone at Sumits is SO kind and wonderful--I tried hot yoga here several years ago and hated it...everyone went so fast, I didn't know what was going on, and I felt so lost. I simply gave up. What a difference an Alignment Class and getting to know the Instructors makes! One day I forgot to take out my contacts and didn't bring any saline solution to soak them in. The owner of the studio, April, ran over to Safeway and grabbed me a bottle. Wow! I can't say enough good things about all of the teachers; Amy showed me how to use a block one-one-one, Heather gave me foot towels, the list goes on and on. You have to try it. I had heard about hot yoga and have been wondering about trying it for quite a while. Finally got the chance to go yesterday. Really good experience at Sumits Yoga. There were about 20 participants in the studio, so more than ample space to move & pose. The instructor (Amy) was very sweet and encouraged us to go at our own pace. This was good for me to hear since it was my first time doing hot yoga. The hour long session was bearable for me thanks to Amy briefly opening the doors about every 15 minutes for "cool down" breaks. All in all I totally loved it. Worked up a really good sweat, of course. Felt good inside and out. Slept like a baby that nite. Would absolutely come back! read more

I started practicing Sumit's yoga when I lived in Phoenix and hadn't done it since then. To say i'm thrilled this studio opened down the street from me is an understatement! I am brand new to the practice of Yoga. I run, lift, mountain bike, amongst other fitness hobbies in my background. This studio has been so welcoming and warm to my wife and I. I am updating my review here as I talked to the owner, April, about my experience last week and I understand a little more about Sumits yoga practice. I signed up for an 80 min class not knowing the style of yoga (even that it was hot yoga), as I was visiting from San Francisco and the class fit my schedule - plus, who can argue with these rave reviews! The studio is clean and welcoming, as were the individuals I talked to. Parking was a breeze! I have to admit that I did not have a great experience in the class as it was very speedy and transitions from warm up to peak to cool down were confusing and choppy. What I didn't realize is that I was taking a class from a fairly new yoga instructor, and I know teaching definitely has a learning curve, so I'd be interested to take a shorter class with a different instructor. If you like your yoga to be more of a workout than a stretch Yin sesh, find Bikram boring, and don't mind sweating, this is definitely the place for you! read more

Sumits Yoga is the best! Kim and April have done an amazing job and the studio is shiny, new and beautiful. I've practiced in Arizona for two years and am so happy Sumits has grown to Colorado! My only warning: it doesn't get any better than Sumits. I currently live in Chicago and have spent the better part of a year searching for a comparable studio, with no luck. I recently moved back to my home state of CO after living in Southern California for a few years. While I was there, I grew to love the Sumits studio in Rancho Santa Margarita, so I was absolutely delighted to find a studio less than 10 minutes from my house in Littleton! I've done other types of yoga in the past, including Bikram, but I love that Sumits has variability in the pace of the flows, so combined with the heat, it offers a unique challenge that I haven't experienced in other styles. I leave this class feeling like a million bucks every time. I've only started going to yoga again in the past 6 weeks, so I haven't taken classes from all of the instructors, but Heather and Seryna lead very solid classes; I can't recommend them enough! This is one of the best places I have been for hot yoga. I tried Sumits Yoga based on a recommendation from a friend. I bought the Groupon (10 classes for $52) which is a great deal! The check in process was easy and Aimee was very welcoming. The atmosphere is laid back and the yoga room was nice and big. When I first thought about trying Sumits Yoga, I thought it would be stretching (and sweating!) and poses. I thought it would be a good "cross training" for my running. I soon learned that it is about the breath, it's about breathing, it's about overcoming the mental challenge of the heat....it's about focusing on yourself and letting everything else go for 60 or 80 minutes. It's a work out! You're moving, your balancing, you learn how your entire body has to work together, and how important your core is. I just completed my first race since I started going to Sumits Yoga, I ran a 25K trail race and I can't believe the difference that Yoga has made. I was in a totally different state of mind. I was calm, I was aware of my breath, my legs felt stronger and more balanced. I was more aware of how every part of my body was working together. My core was STRONG, my posture was awesome without even trying. The down hills were faster because of how each part of my body has learned to work together , the up hills were different than in the past because I was aware of my breathing and I knew when I needed to slow down. I was calm, in control, and focused on ME, not everyone around me. Usually when I participate in a race, it feels like it takes forever. This race, I ran my miles by being IN THE MOMENT. I wasn't thinking about how far I had to go, or what obstacles I would encounter ahead, I just ran...in the moment, focused, MINDFUL. That is what Sumits Yoga has done for me. My wife and I started going due to a Groupon and loved it so much we signed up for more. Kim and April are the owners and they are uncanny in how they rememeber names. They ALWAYS greet you with a smile and are very helpful. The Sumits yoga is a hot yoga that begins with a standing series and then moves to 4 flows. Although the routine is the same every time, the moves have enough depth to them to always be challenging. I totally recommend this place - great people, facilities and yoga! read more
