Bad news...this coffee company sells coffee by the pound not lattes (hence the name). Good news... they sell drip coffee for $2.00 + tax. What a deal! This family owned shop has been roasting beans locally since 1972 and focuses on helping customers brew excellent coffee at home rather than serving coffee drinks on premises. According to the store manager, Mr. Anderson occasionally comes into the store. The selection of freshly roasted beans is rather larger, with store favorites like Guatemala Antiqua, Dark Sumatra and Arabian Mocha cited as most popular. Coffee cost on average $19 per pound. In addition to coffee, the store carries loose leaf teas, mugs, candy, cards, coffee pot sweaters, brewing equipment, and small other gift items, to name just a few items. I was totally and completely enamored with this store. They had so many trinkets and interesting items, you literally could peruse for hours. Captivating environment...Loved it...

The staff clearly recognized quite a few customers during the short time I was there to do a quick grab and go of caffeine. The staff was super friendly and took their time in helping me pick out a bag of beans based off my personal preferences and intent of use (cortados/lattes vs drip/press). Their beans are well priced at around $14 a bag AND you get a complimentary drip coffee with the purchase! I felt like a winner! I also gave their canned lemonade and coffee drink a try - because why not? It had a unique and almost chocolatey flavor. Not sure if I loved it personally, but the quality of the ingredients and flavors were distinctly there. Certainly will take the time to come back to test out the space for a remote work day or a casual outing. Big plus: They have a parking lot and the option of indoor and outdoor seating. I was intrigued by the coffee shop's, high-Yelp rating, so I decided to give it a whirl. One of the unique features of the coffee shop is the unique flavors of the coffee offerings. The smoked iced maple latte was calling my name. It is really difficult to describe the flavor as it was very unique. I can't say that the latte filled my mouth with explosive flavor and smoothness simultaneously. I do understand the high rating. Jessica, my barista, was super friendly. In fact, I forgot my debit card and had to go to the car to get it. She told me to go ahead and she would start preparing my latte. That element of trust was very welcomed . Nowadays people will not move a Inch until they see some form of payment. I appreciate her kind gesture. Great coffee experience....

It's a small coffee shop next to Sugar Mama's that easily surpasses some of the bigger coffee shops in Austin. As a major coffee shop Yelper, I compare the taste and quality of a roast, the ingredients in drinks (house made syrups versus regular Monin, etc.) and service/ambience. Sightseer hit all three marks. The location is also super walkable and convenient. You can grab coffee and continue on your way to awesome restaurants and local businesses on South 1st or hit up Soco after.

Initially I didn't love their straight up matcha…read morelatte, but I've come to realize that Desnudo is the place that does the "dressed up" matcha very well. Their plain matcha latte was just ok, but this time I got the pistachio mascarpone cream specialty match and it was great! The drink was beautiful at pick-up (so beautiful I forgot to take a photo!), and I got the hype: coffee flavor was bold, mixed perfectly with the milk, and the brown sugar + miso flavors were at the bottom that you mixed yourself. All the flavors worked, but nothing to TRULY go out of your way for. It was good though! Miso adds that "nutty, slight salty" flavor like a "salted caramel" would do. Completely enjoyed!

Third Coast has become my 'daily driver' for espresso, as their beans offer the best combination of quality, value, and service. El Guapo has been the top choice so far with classic caramel, chocolate notes and a nice syrupy mouthfeel. Every bag has been consistently-roasted and quick to dial-in. Third Coast has so far resisted the insane shrinkflation that has affected many coffee options. As a comparison, local roaster Greater Goods is nearly 2x more expensive, and Third Coast is better. This is the best value in high quality espresso in Austin...and maybe across the US. Highly-recommended!

This is a perfect spot if you're looking for outdoor vibes. Maybe not somewhere to work from home, but I did actually see someone working on their laptop. In terms of parking, they have two small lots right next to it and then another one farther down the street. There's some but it was just tough on a Saturday morning. Also, be careful with parking in the nearby restaurants lots because they came out and told us to move our car. Overall, the vibes were great, and I recommend checking it out!
