What amazingly terrible service!! There app wasn't working all morning (kept giving some jibberish error that didn't make any sense) but somehow ended up on what looked like the web version of the app and ordered it there. I made a mistake and ordered the drink at the S 1st location (since I'm not used to web version). Got to the Westlake location and ladies working there told me to call the S 1st location to cancel my order / get a refund and get in line to re-order at Westlake location. Called S 1st a gazzilion times but of course no one answered the phone. I get it that it was my mistake but the VERY simple "customer centric" solution would have been to just make me a stupid drink and not have me go through all this hassle. It was just one medium (overpriced) drink...that's it. Tired of paying $9 with tax and tip for a drink here and dealing with people who are just plain miserable every single time I walk in here. What a stark contract with people at Starbucks just down the street. I'm not sure how they pull it off but not a single person working here is ever in a half decent mood. They just lost a regular customer - forever. Kudos to management for creating and maintaining this environment for years. Good job!! read more

Nine months later, the same problems. For some reason, they can't simply put the completed online orders out the same way they put the completed (like Starbucks has no problem doing). After ordering ahead 10 minutes and waiting another 10 minutes (while people ordered inside and got their coffee), I finally just left. I'm not the only person who has complained. I love SummerMoon (all locations) most recently visited this one. Their lattes are so good, they use "moon milk" which is their creation and it's so good. I usually get the bluemoon latte which has lavender in it and their signature moon milk. It's a great place to meet someone for coffee, or do some work. I'll definitely be visiting again. read more

For many reasons, this summer moon is one of my favorite locations in Austin. First, they are clean and have a great seating space. Two, they are quick with their customer service. Used to love this place but the upsetting experience I had today has me not going back. I ordered and as I went to pay I got a phone call (from the person I was ordering for). I answered (to see if she was changing her order) then hung up approx 10 seconds later. I apologized to the girl at the counter for answering the phone call, to which she just looked at me then walked away. I stood there waiting for my coffee for 20 minutes (as she watched) before asking where it was. She never made the cups to pass along to the baristas. So I was never going to get the coffee I paid for. Positive side- the barista was nice at fixing the mistake . read more

By far my favorite Summer Moon location. Conveniently located in the same shopping center as Michael's, modern market, and a lot of quick food in case you don't want a sandwich. Their decor and vibe is the best I've seen of all their locations. It gets the most natural light and has more seating than most of its sister stores. I've always been able to find a spot - no matter the time. And they do what they do best - make great coffee and have plenty of plugs so you're not have a silent battle with strangers waiting for plugs. As always my go-to is a 1/4 moon latte on a regular day and a 1/2 moon on a treat yourself day. My only regret is that they close at 8 so if I want to work on something for a while, I need to find another place. read more

I have become a Summermoon convert this summer, I usually get a whisper moon which isn't too sweet and perfect for those watching their sugar intake. This location has great drinks and room for studying or working, but they need to brush up on customer service. I've visited a few times to knock out some work mid-day and probably 12 feet away from the baristas and behind the counter I can hear, and have heard through my multiple visits, the employees talking down and talking about their customers in a negative way. This should not be happening. Also putting your ordered drink in different labeled cups. So it will literally sit there for 15 minutes with out them calling your name, you ask and they pick up the watered down coffee and try to give it to you. I heard so many good reviews about this chain in Austin so I was super hyped! But turns out it's just like another caribou or local Starbucks brand. Their lattes are reaaally sweet so be careful about that if you're expecting a bold coffee flavor instead. Their green tea latte is a bit clumpy and tastes more like milk than matcha. I placed a order and waited for a coffee and a taco. I'm waiting and I see what could be my order but there was no name on the cup or bag or my name called. I don't want to take anyone else's order. I keep seeing others who came after getting their orders filled, so I ask if the order on the table is mine. The girl at the serving table ask if my name is on the cup then she looks as she is asking and realizes it's not. I ask if there is a pick taco in the bag she folds the bag and pushes the bag and cup to me and says "if you think it's your bud it probably is". I'm not her bud I'm a customer who's been waiting for now cold coffee and a maybe that's my taco. She simply just goes on with her work. Hard decision to post a review....I don't want this coffee joint to get overrun with too many people and become busy with long lines, which may lead to overall lower quality (product, service, atmosphere). However, I don't want to be selfish-"good things" should be shared. I am not a coffee connoisseur but I am finicky about coffee flavor. A co-worker brought me a Summer Moon Mocha Ice or is it Mocha Ice Summer Moon? In any case, I only drank it because I required energy. Low and behold, it is so delicious! I had to find the place and have another Mocha Ice. Wouldn't you know, it's closer to me than Starbucks! The coffee flavor=yum, the staff is courteous, the place is nice & clean, and such a sweet location. (Avery Ranch and Palmer Rd location) I love coffee and recommend you check out Summer Moon. I'm always looking to find new coffee spots in Austin, and I stumbled across summer moon because it's right next to my gym. First off, they open at 6!! Which is awesome because I feel like most coffee shops in Austin don't open until 7 and I'm an early riser. And the prices were great. I got a large iced oat milk latte with an extra shot of espresso, and it came out to be like $5.50 or something like that. I didn't have my wallet with me, luckily they take Apple Pay! Summer Moon is a great spot the majority of the time, but there's been a handful of drinks that I have received that have tasted incredibly off. This has been a reoccurring experience for me. The drink will be bitter, almost expired tasting, and the sweetness and flavor are different than normal. This is incredibly disappointing because when you spend $6.50 on a drink and tip, it ends up being a high dollar beverage. I love Summer Moon and am a loyal customer, I just wish there was a bit more consistency when it comes to the drink quality. read more
