Ambiance: I've been to a handful of coffee shops around Austin, and this is now my go-to spot! It's really close to campus and feels very safe to be around. There is good Wi-Fi and plenty of natural light, so it is a great spot to lock in and get some work done. Drinks: The coffee here is not bad of a price compared to some other spots around the city. I have had both the matcha and mocha latte here, and I really like the mocha for a sweet refreshment. There is also a free iced water station which is super convenient.

Good vibe though crazy busy on a Saturday morning. My first time here so it was a mix of impressions. The London Fog has a good taste, but not steaming the milk and serving me luke warm tea was not acceptable. The 10oz tea was $4.50. I want to add that it took 15 minutes to get the tea and 24 minutes to get to toast. The country ham and cheese toast had an amazing flavor. I loved the toast! However, one small piece of toast with four slices of ham and a little more than a slice of cheddar was a serious letdown for a $10.50 order.

I really like studying here, as the ambience is nice. The music isn't too loud. Depending on the table, the seats aren't the most comfortable. The coffee was okay, and served in a small cup. The price was appropriate however.

Eggs, avocado, arugula. I don't love arugula, and I had to pay extra for toast. Aside from that, delicious.

Kind, welcoming staff. Soundtrack on fire. Is it cheap? Nope, but it's across the street from the Flamingo Auto Repair, and they have a nice patio, too!

This is one of the friendliest Coffee places I've been too. From the moment I stepped in our experience was wonderful. The gentleman who took our order was super nice and so easy to talk with, I asked him a few questions about the tea and ended up with the iced London Fog and could not have been happier. It was just the right amount of sweetness with whole milk and was exactly what I needed to start my day. Plus they had the small crushed ice which is always welcomed in coffee over cubes in my opinion. Everything about this coffee shop seemed comfy, cozy and welcoming. I can see myself coming here to read, study, just enjoy the day. It's a must if you're on the drag.

Okay, fav coffee shop in ATX. Super smooth and rich. A little of their simple housemade syrups goes a long way. Mid century modern interior and local art. Cute merch. Plenty of seating. Am a fan! ordered: latte w caramel syrup

Stopped in the meet a friend, and thought it was a nice spot. Was a bit packed without much seating, but the location was good and there was enough parking nearby. My chai latte with oat milk was solid, and the chia seed pudding was a nice little snack available for just $3. I could see myself using this place as a coffee meet up spot again in the future.

Coffee was not great for price and it came in a small cup. The place had good vibes though.

Very cool spot north of campus hosting tasty espresso, Sour Duck pastries, and larger bites in case studying or more official business makes you want to stay all day. Fresh, airy space with LOTS of light to dream big dreams, with a range of working spaces (barstools, tables with outlets, lounge area) and kindly accommodating staff to ease any pushy Cappy vibes.

The photo makes the bagel look over toasted but it didn't taste that way! It had a little crunch on the outside and soft on the inside.

I tried Civil Goat for the first time today and will definitely be back. FOOD & COFFEE I originally went because I saw they had toasts which feel more like 'real' food than most cafe offerings. I ended up getting an everything bagel however because the avocado toast had bacon on it and I'm a vegetarian. There were other vegetarian and vegan options (cinnamon toast) but most were on the sweet spectrum and I wanted to savory. I wasn't expecting much from the bagel but was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The cream cheese was a whipped one and I loved it. I just wanted more! I also got a drip coffee that was superb. It was just damn good coffee. I hope to try their espresso and cold brew offerings in the future - if the coffee is any indication, I'm sure they'll be great. VIBE I really enjoyed the vibe and decor inside Civil Goat. It had that calming effect that 'real' cafes have. I felt like I wanted to bring a good book (instead of my work laptop!) and just waste an afternoon away. There are a few 'work-y' tables, a nice social area that had two small communal tables and a loungey area, but most seating was on stools at a bar facing Guadalupe. I was sitting at one of the stools and enjoyed myself but I was only there for about 30 minutes. I feel like it would be tough to do my aforementioned book lounging or even longer than 1hr. It would be tough to socialize with a friend with this set-up. I also could not see any plugs but wasn't looking to hard as I wasn't in need. SERVICE I'm... confused... by the staff. No one was rude to me but no one was nice to me. It's hard to describe. I felt a little bit like I was being a bother but it's not like anyone was overtly rude. I may be reading too much into it but I interacted with three people and not one smiled... and I'm a very smiley person so it felt strange to smile at someone without them smiling back. PARKING There's lots of space in the parking lot. PARENTS I won't be brining my little one here anytime soon. It feels beautifully calm and I feel like a toddler would not fit well. It also has a set-up that would not accommodate any stroller bigger than an umbrella stroller. I'm sure it'd be fine to run in a grab a drink/pastry to go but I can't see myself sitting there with my kiddo. OVERALL I will definitely go back to Civil Goat but not for a work sesh or with friends, definitely not with a kid. I'd go if I want some relaxing alone time with really good coffee.

Visited here plenty of times- their coffee and drinks are delicious . They always have the best latte art when making your coffee ! Definitely try out their açaí bowls as well!

Everything was fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced, making it a great value for the experience. The vibe here is peaceful and inviting. Although it can get quite hot during the Texas summer, they also operate in the evening, which makes it an ideal place to unwind after sunset. We really enjoyed everything we ordered and look forward to coming back, perhaps after spending some time on the water. In addition, I do not have a Haraz Coffee House near me, so when I am near one of their locations, I make it a point to pop in. I love Haraz. I love the ambience. I love the coffee. I love the pastry selection. I love the service. The consistency I've experienced from location to location is top-notch. The cleanliness here is impeccable, too. That bears mentioning. My go-to is the Haraz Latte. Iced. While this could never be my every day coffee, it is something I really enjoy and treat myself to when I'm able to go to a Haraz. As someone who doesn't proclaim to like cheesecake, their Biscoff cheesecake is the exception. Maybe it's a blessing that one isn't close by and I can only indulge every now and then. If you want a break from your regular coffee, give Haraz a shot. Especially when the summer heat kicks in - the iced coffee + cardamom is pretty great. Also, they seem to have a high standard for hiring. The staff is always great. Please tip generously ;)

While exploring the many museums across the University of Texas campus, a quick caffeine break was needed for my girlfriend and we were overwhelmed by the number of options on The Drag. It makes sense that there are plenty of places to choose from because of the large number of UT students. Everyone needs a little coffee in their lives. One of the highest reviewed ones with a large pool of ratings was Lucky Lab Coffee and after checking a few quick reviews, we decided to give it a chance. Lucky Lab has five locations in Austin (four on campus) and one location in Dripping Springs. The one we were at off The Drag was their flagship. This location serves a little bit of everything from sandwiches to pastries, salad to quiche, and of course, coffee. As we walked inside the flagship, it is easy to notice how tight the space is. There is very little seating inside at their bar, but they make up for it with plenty of shaded outdoor space that is perfect for a nice day. Scanning their menu, we landed on some drinks from their winter menu. I was intrigued by their Pomegranate Rosemary Latte while my girlfriend tried their Ginger Spice Mocha. We got them both iced. First, it is interesting to see the fusion of pomegranate and rosemary in a latte. I was intrigued by those flavors. Their drink sizes are 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz, each adding an additional 50 cents to each upgrade. All milk alternatives cost 1 dollar. It was only a short wait to get our coffees and the cup with the little lab on it was cute. I think specialty drinks have an opportunity to be amazing and one of a kind or the worst drink imaginable. This pomegranate rosemary latte did not fall into either category exactly, but leaned more toward the latter. I love pomegranates and I always appreciate how earthy rosemary can be in a coffee. One of my favorite lattes I have ever had has rosemary in it. This was just not working for me. I shamefully did not finish my coffee. As for my girlfriend, she did not like her ginger spice mocha. I could not imagine gingerbread syrup not working in a mocha, but after trying it myself it was not for me either. It seems like a perfect match, but here the gingerbread is competing with the chocolate and instead of complementing each other they clash. She told me that the flavors were "un-mocha like". She drank less than half of her coffee before tossing it as well. Neither of us wanted to dislike Lucky Lab. They seem well established and I felt like they were trustworthy based on reviews, but I wonder what these previous reviewers were tweaking on or what magical concoction of coffee granted from heaven above they were sipping on because we were distraught by how disappointing these drinks were. I would like to give Lucky Lab Coffee Co the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe the specialty drinks were not up to par with their traditional beverages. However, the almost 30 different syrup options on their wall make me feel they lack a little focus and try too hard to stand out. They lose what makes a coffee good, which is coffee. I want to say I will give them a second shot in the future to see if it was just an off day or a bad beverage pick. Too many shots turns a Lucky Lab into Old Yeller. The lab needs to be put on a leash before I think about returning. RIYL: options

I was a little confused when I drove up because I didn't realize that it's inside the Retreat Yoga Studio. There is a neon sign on the window as well as an A-Frame Sign near the entrance to let you know you're in the right place. Parking is plentiful in the shopping center. Because it's in a Yoga Studio, there isn't much seating (though they did have tables set up outside). The vibe was relaxing and calm. I don't know what scent they had in there, but it smelled nice. This wouldn't be a place to study or work as the seating is limited and I didn't see many outlets. There was a small area with bar stools if you need a tabletop, but most of the seating was couches and lounge chairs. It's more of a place to relax or catch up with a friend. I love when coffee shops have signature drinks. I ordered the Cajeta Crème Brûlée Cappuccino. It was so good, but it came in a small cup. The smoky sea salt was delicious! I don't typically care for sea salt in beverages, but it complimented the flavors so well! I asked the barista to sub oat milk which they were able to do but he informed me that some of the ingredients had dairy (which was fine). I appreciated the disclosure. I was able to drink it without any issues. Because my drink was so small, I decided to order a second one. I went with the Ginger Snap Latte (with oat milk) and it was tasty! I didn't like it as much as the Cajeta Crème Brûlée, but it was really good. I was happy that it was served in a larger cup. The space had plants as well as merch like clothing, scented candles, soaps, and jewelry (which was beautiful). The bathrooms were very clean and had feminine hygiene products as well as a basket with bobby pins and hair ties. I love the attention to detail! We were there close to closing time (3 pm). I appreciated that one of the employees let us know that they would be closing without forcing us to get up and leave. It was on par with the gentle and calming vibe of the space.
