And I'm not even lactose intolerant! I got the 1/2 winter moon and this is more heavy cream then anything else. It doesn't have as much flavor both in the cream or the said espresso in it. The heavy cream and skim milk do not blend at all and sit separately in the drink with every sip. I'm sad this signature drink was not it because this place has so many interesting seasonal flavors but they use the same cream in every drink. The service is just alright. They get your order, make your drink, and try to ignore you at the drink station but not in a malicious way. My mom and I came to Summer Moon on NYE. Thank God we checked the business hours, because they closed early that day (2 pm). We got there around 1:15 pm. This was our first time at Summer Moon. The only thing I know about this place is the Moon Milk. Everyone who loves it kept talking about the damn moon milk. I knew that you can order drinks with varying levels of Moon Milk. I like sweet drinks, but not too sweet. The young lady at the register let us try a small cup of it. It was very rich, creamy, and sweet, so I opted for the 3/4 Summer Moon and my mom had the 3/4 Mocha Moon. She obviously couldn't tell us what was in the Moon Juice (which is mixed with the milk), but she said the milk is whole milk mixed with cream. Thank God for Lactaid lol. It didn't take long for our drinks to be made. I didn't hear the barista when my drink was ready so it sat on the counter for a minute or two. I'm not sure if they normally take down names, but I realized the lady didn't ask my name for the order. At any rate, my mom and I received our drinks in a timely manner. We both enjoyed our drinks and I can see why people are obsessed with the Moon Milk. I just find that now I have returned to the Westlake area this was a great coffee shop but it turned out that the coffee taste not what it seems but actually has gone downhill some.. You have to ask if you want sugar free because they automatically put sugar into your coffee without even asking you people with diabetes and many other health problems that can be a problem big time so I was a little disappointed other than that the coffee taste really good but I gave them a 3 star because of the attitude that the front desk has didn't seem like they really wanna wanna work here.. They do carry all kinds of other types of T shirts and hats with cups to sell and a very nice clean environment on the property is very nice Hey to put in a review like this it saddens me that people have taken advantage of the fact that because people do not care to work they seem to be very lazy here and not really want to do anything you ask them to do in the coffee you want. This is by far my favorite Summer Moon location and therefore my go to cafe as there is plenty of parking and very spacious inside. The inner vibes are also much more hip, brightly lit instead of grungy with all the friendly baristas still. And even midweek, this place is packed, not to the point of too packed, but definitely happening. My go to is still the 1/2 wintermoon with that magical moon milk. It's a very well made drink that is just sweet enough - honestly it's the drink that made me first start liking coffee. I really like Summer Moon coffee for that wood fired smoky note that you can definitely taste, even through all the sugar and cream. Can't vouch for any of the other drinks, but you won't be disappointed with whatever you get i'm sure. read more

I wanted to try their coffee out for some time now so I was so glad I finally got to check it out! I came on a Sunday around noon and it was not too busy, but their was still a line to order. The barista taking our order was so helpful and answered all my questions! I got an iced wintermoon latte with almond milk. My boyfriend ordered an iced vanilla latte. Our drinks took a couple of minutes to come out, but in the meantime we were looking at all of their cute merch! They have shirts, tanks, mugs, pins, and sell their own coffee beans as well. I really enjoyed my drink, it was really sweet but still refreshing! I love the ambiance of the shop because it is relaxing and has pops of color throughout. I think it's the coolest Summer Moon in town - everything that made the former Trianon coffeehouse here kind of dark & gloomy, they made it all bright & airy. It just feels a lot more spacious, big props to the remodel team. And you still have the bonus large parking lot. Unfortunately for me, their signature wood-fired coffee is my least favorite straight black in Austin, because it usually reminds me of hot dark water. And I just couldn't care less about the fifty shades of "Moon Milk" and its various concoctions, but I know people who swear by it and you might love it too. We got the cappuccino and the blue moon latte with almond milk. PROS 1) Love the decor. There's natural lighting coming in from every angle, which as we all know... makes for a great basic coffee picture :) 2) The coffee is phenomenal. The flavor is fantastic, and the temperature is just right. 3) The baristas have a lot of sprit. They were dancing to Mama Mia. They set a great tone for the whole Coffee Bar. Love the vibes, and their great attitude. Super kind, and even remembered my name when I came up to get a second cup of coffee. 4) Free wifi. CONS 1) The baristas are ametures: they don't purge the wand after making a latte which can be an issue for the machinery in the future. Also, they didn't make any latte art which was really disappointing :(. Their milk foam on top was not polished and you can tell its lack of experience. However, because this location is new, I'm letting it go a bit and I hope this location will improve with time. NOTE: Although it's a great place for studying with open space, the place is more designed for a morning coffee. So the space is quite loud and won't make for the best studying experience. My third time here. My usual hangout being the ultra amazing Caffè Medici on Westlynn, this place has missed the mark every single time. Like others, I love the renovations but the service here is not great. All three times I've been here, they have never asked me if it's for here or to go. I don't like drinking out of pair to go cups and they NEVER ask me if it's for here or to go. So they made my cappuccino to go. Frustrated, I told the guy, I want it in a cup and that nobody asked me if I wanted it to go or for here. I turned around to get out of someone's way and turned back around and saw the barista making a face at me. I know finding good people these days is super hard. But Westlake is full of great families that probably have kids and college students who could work here. It seems this barista was "imported" from the East side to give this place a cool factor with some genuine hipster attitude. As for the cappuccino.... It's really not worth the trip and I forget that I don't like it too much. Tastes like water, not espresso. The ratios are off for the cup size. I'd rather get a smaller "real" cappuccino than just more watered down liquid in a cup. I am picky when it comes to cappuccino and espresso because there are great places in Austin and around the world that can do a great cappuccino.
