I love this place when I lived in Dallas a few years ago! So I was so excited to see this in El Paso when I was visiting. I got their half moon latte and I was pretty disappointed. Found this place using Yelp and will be coming back for more moon milk. Upon arrival, we asked what it was and it is their proprietary creamer. They gave us a taste and yep it passed the test. I chose to go with half moon option so it wouldn't be as sweet with some whole milk and it was perfect! It is across from the providence east hospital so it is convenient if you are ever having to go there and just need some good coffee. This tasted like melted ice cream good but too heavy for me when I asked about the roast of the coffee the girl didn't seem very knowledgeable the flavors here are limited. It was an oak roast but I could t taste the coffee beyond the other mixers within the coffee I explained do it like half as sweet as you normally would I don't think this was captured if you like sweet coffee you may love this place the ambiance and cleanliness is great! To start the young lady behind the counter was constantly on her phone. The tables are sticky but the person behind the counter sat and scrolled on her phone all the time. There were no stirrers for my husband's coffee he requested one and was given a fork. We purchased a cheese danish and a croissant and the young lady put it in the microwave too long. This is the worst Summer Moon! I have been to the one in San Antonio, Austin and Round Rock and this location is the worst ran store ever. The speaker in the drive thru has been broken since it's opened. So you wait in the line for 20 minutes before placing your order. Then they are always out of cups, the seasonal drinks aren't in, they run out of chocolate for mocha. The hot coffee is lukewarm. The customer service is meh. Just stick to Starbucks or Dunkin or anywhere else. read more

New coffee shop on the East side - opened up today and if you're not familiar, this is a shop that started in Austin and has made its way to El Paso *YAY* Their thing is "oak roasted coffee" - whatever that is, but y'all it is divine. They also do something called moon milk - and it's so delicious, you can't go wrong with any of the drinks. We got there around eleven thirty and they were out of pastries, but I'm sure they're delicious too. They have ample seating, lots of products and beans to buy, and the staff was super friendly despite the long lines! Go check it out! Was my Mint Matcha Moon (hot) with almond milk good? Yes. Was it worth $8.34? No. My drink was good and frothy for a bit, but the bottom half got extremely sugar-y (can't imagine what it would be like with the moon milk; their version of a sweetened creamer), so I only drank half. Their infused water (free) was fantastic, though! The place is pretty cool, and they have some homemade pop tarts and other sweets, plus a bunch of breakfast wraps in the fridge. There's a private parking lot, large windows, and a good amount of seating. Multiple people were working on their computers, and it seems like they have a handful of outlets. read more

There was plenty of space to enjoy your drink and food there. They also have some merchandise available for purchase. Their coffee is unique. Traveling from out of town I been waiting to try this place. The place is super nice, cute, and a cozy environment, the service could be way better. My latte was okay I was a bit disappointed I request to have cold foam it had nothing and because it was nothing like there description. I ordered a Iced Christmas Latte. Which includes Sugar, spice, and everything nice! Our All-New holiday iced latte features Oak Roasted Espresso, Moon Milk, and all the flavors of your favorite Christmas cookies. Well, Well, Well! What can I say, Is a nice place the staff very friendly. Our daughter ordered the hibiscus ice tea, was not good. It tasted like water and sugar. I spoke To the young man that took care of us and he was very nice and changed it to a pineapple fruity hot tea. She enjoyed that one. Also the young man was very patient because their menu is a bit confusing he explained everything so we could understand the concept. The ambiance is good, a lot of college students. I visited Summer Moon on their grand opening day/morning on 4-17, a Saturday. I got there when the crowd started dying down which was even better for me. I arrived at around 10:30 am. I usually go through the drive-thru whenever (and wherever) it's available because of the convenience. This time I wanted to go inside since it was my first time having coffee from here. They're based in Austin and have locations in larger Texas cities like Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. They're opening more shops in the Houston area soon. It's a regional chain in Texas. I had to wait around 10 minutes to place my order. I went with an iced caramel latte, a vanilla chai tea for the bf and a bottle of Moonmilk. The employees were really friendly and kind to me and everyone else there. The place was spotless. I'd expect that especially since it's a brand new place. The staff was also patient when I had questions. Everything tasted great for me. I liked that they used the good kind of ice in my caramel latte. The good ice is the small, crushed ice Sonic also uses. The latte was perfect and not too sweet or bitter tasting. They gave me a sample of the Moonmilk and I really liked it. It's pretty sweet but so creamy and good! It kind of reminded me of egg nog or Coquito (a Puerto Rican egg nog type drink with rum). I'm sure the Moonmilk would taste great with rum added to it. I had a little sip of the chai tea and it was good too. That reminded me a lot of Horchata. I paid $17 and change. I also left a tip. I'll definitely be back! Next time I'll use the drive-thru. A tale of 2 grand openings...both on the Eastside today. Both were locally owned franchises, same price points, but that's about the only things that were the same. It was for Summer Moon Coffee and for The Paleta Bar EP. Summer Moon Coffee: The 1st one we went to was Summer Moon Coffee. They are an Austin based franchise and their claim to fame is their sweet moon milk. Their number on their FB page was disconnected when I called because I couldn't find their location. It's because they share the same building as a Schlotzsky's, down to the same bathrooms. When I entered, I immediately was in a line, and I thought it was because they were crowded, but no, it was because their service was extremely slow. 20 mins in the line, I was able to notice a couple of things. The line was very poorly placed in the pathway of the bathroom, so it was awkward for the people that needed to use the facilities. There were flyers for the raffle they were having, but nothing for the menu until you were at the counter. No explanations, beyond one poster depicting their moon milk. It explained the levels of sweetness of the moon milk, but that's about it. No one was greeted, welcomed, or even acknowledged while in line, even though a manager kept cutting in to check on stock. It was really odd. I mean I get that the vibe is like very Austinite and it's like you know, "too cool for school chill kind of deal" but this is borderline unfriendly especially since you have El Paso coffee shops that are so welcoming to compare it to. They had like four employees and they're all busy working silently. There were three managers just standing around talking to themselves with their arms crossed and the only interaction just basically that one guy just interrupting the line every once in a while. One guy his name was Bruce, was somewhat welcoming where he actually explained or tried to explain what they were offering, but unfortunately since he was working the cash register, it slowed up the line and he had limited time to talk. I told my friend that recommended the place that I was disappointed about the service, I got more interaction with a drive thru Dunkin donuts than I got here. The coffee itself was ok. I ordered a 16 oz iced Winter Moon Latte and it was $5. They used good ice and it made it easier to drink, but the famed sweet milk tasted very artificial, with the sweetness in the front and a aftertaste that was very chemical. I think it's going for an Italian Sweet Cream taste. I get a better effect with the Natural Bliss coffee creamer I get from Sam's. There's so many amazing coffee shops in El Paso, I wouldn't come back here just for this and definitely not for the service. I loved everything about Summer Moon Coffee! My husband and I decided to veer off from our usual coffee place and decided to give this place a try. I'm so glad we did. Their coffee was amazing. I got the half-moon latte and the flavor was perfect. It wasn't too sweet, which I enjoyed. You can taste the quality of the coffee. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. It's perfect for dates, or if you want to go out in a larger group they have bigger tables. Another thing I would like to mention is the simplicity of their menu. It was pretty easy to order, and I didn't get overwhelmed with all the options. If you are in the area I suggest you stop by this coffee shop. They even have a drive thru. read more

I was excited to try out a local coffee shop while visiting El Paso & drove quite a ways to try out Summer Moon Coffee! Upon arriving the shop was very cute and I loved the merch. However when it came time to order, the staff were not friendly at all. The girl at the front had 2 ear headphones in & did not acknowledge us. We read the menu but had questions about what things were, however no one offered to help. My fiancé works as a barista and is always taught to be welcoming & inviting to customers. It was a huge surprise to us how we were treated. When we ordered my fiancé asked for shots over ice & the girl gave us a rude look and said "I don't understand." We asked if they had caramel macchiatos and were told no with no other suggestions. We ordered & tried our best to smile & be nice because we know everyone has bad days but the poor service continued. When we left we told all the staff to have a nice day & no one said anything back. I hate leaving bad reviews or sounding like a difficult person, but we have both worked customer service & value friendliness. Especially my fiancé who works in their exact role. EXCELLENT coffee. I like to get bags of their INFERNO blend, its crazy good. The moon milk is insane as well, its a super sweet creamer, a little goes a long way. I tend to like to taste coffee when I drink coffee, so just a tiny splash does it for me, and they offer it for sale to take home in small bottles. They also have some good looking pastries there as well and some pretty decent breakfast burritos. The inside is nice and cozy, usually filled with a few people working/studying on their laptops. Customer service is okay, can be a bit hit or miss I've found, but overall a nice little spot. Beats the heck out of that other place that starts with an "S". read more

I had no idea this place existed until I met a friend there. I was there Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty, no line. The place was spacious, clean and the staff was very helpful and kind. Apparently they have a specialty sweetener that they sell separately. It was so good I could have drank a cup of sweetener instead of coffee! Chose to place to catch up with a friend after I got off graveyard and before she went into work. The coffee was so sweet and delicious. Definitely not your Starbucks or DD coffee, 1000x better. They do have a unique system of names to choose the cream amount but the girl at the register was so helpful and sweet. I ended up choosing whatever was the 3/4 of sweet cream and a chili colorado burrito. The burrito was so good that I purchased another one. The coffee hit the spot and didn't have any of that acidic feeling coffee sometimes gives me or the bitter aftertaste. The only issue I had, which may not be an issue at all, was I ended up so wired that I stayed up all day and finally crashed after being awake for 27 hours. read more

I come from Dutch Brothers land and was looking for something sweet during this stressful move I was going through. A quick yelp search and Summer Moon Coffee popped on up. I decided to go in the first time to learn more about the mystical moon milk that they use in their coffees. Thankfully they are able to make the moon milk non dairy. You can try a sample inside (of the dairy version) I tried the Iced Peach Cobbler latte with oat milk and non dairy moon milk I think subtly sweet. It wasn't sweet enough for me so I went back the next day and tried a Iced Cinnamon latte with oat milk and I think the 2nd most sweetest option. It was DELCIOUS and reminded me of Dutch Brothers. I also tried a strawberry poptart and it was really good. Try the poptarts! My fiancie on the other hand loved his iced chai latte both times. I'm exicited that will be opening a location near me outside of Houston. I'm going to try the more moonmilk coffee in the future. They do have a drive through, be sure to turn right away or else you will miss it. read more
