Better Sweet is a small, family-owned shop tucked away next to the Dillards area upstairs. Honestly, we stumbled upon it while looking for Primark and LensCrafters, and I'm glad we did! I came right when they opened, and the donuts were freshly made. We bought a dozen -- yes, they're a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it. The texture is light, airy, and chewy with flavors that hit just right. My favorites were green tea and ube. My daughter loved the ube and glazed, my son went for cookies & cream and chocolate, and even the grandparents raved about them. Sharing is fun too, since each donut breaks apart into little chewy "donut holes." We also tried the Cloud Matcha Ube drink -- delicious, though at $7.50 for a large, it's on the expensive side. They sell bottled water for $2 as well. By the time we finished ordering, a line of about a dozen people had already formed behind us. It seems to come in waves, but it's clearly a popular spot even though it's hidden. I did overhear some people disappointed when certain flavors ran out, so if you want the best selection, go early. Parking at Cielo Vista can be a headache, especially since they've removed some spots for car displays, but it's worth navigating just for this treat. Several customers were being told they couldn't order despite the business still being open according to the posted hours. What was most frustrating was the lack of customer service. Instead of politely explaining the situation or apologizing, the staff came across as rude and dismissive. If you plan to stop serving 30 minutes before closing, your hours should reflect that so customers don't waste their time driving over. Closing early is one thing, but being unfriendly to customers about it is another. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression.
