My sister got the iced mocha moon which was really really sweet. She watered it down and it was still pretty sweet. It's a really great place to get work down. Came in looking for something sweet, but ended up getting a mixture of things. The overall atmosphere of the coffee shop was very nice, I can see it being a good studying environment. They have access to Wi-Fi which makes things easier and the workers are really nice and understanding. I decided on the Half Wintermoon Iced and a Blackberry tea of sorts (I can't remember the name). But in my opinion, it was very good and refreshing coffee. I can sometimes find coffee to be 'too sweet' but this coffee made me think very similar to a Vietnamese iced coffee and tasted really good. If I am in the area, I will definitely come by whether I need to study, need a place to relax, or if I just want to hang out and talk with a friend. read more

I normally love cortados, but the cortado I received had way too much milk foam and it was really hot (cortados are supposed to be less hot than lattes). The ambiance is nice. Ordered through the app two days in a row this week and both times my drink tasted a little off. Had already left and driven off when I had my first sip so couldn't get it fixed. First order was 1/4 wintermoon latte with almond milk. The barista had mixed up my order (gave me a hot latte) and had to remake it. Usually 1/4 is sweet enough for me, however could barely taste any moon milk. Todays order was 1/4 wintermoon latte and again, could barely taste any moon milk. I've had summer moon many times before. In Austin, at the Richmond store, at this one, and I always order 1/4 wintermoon lattes and have not had this issue before until now. All the staff are young and doesn't know what's going on apparently? But I ordered a coffee and kolache which was so disappointing. They were doing more talking then working the table were very unsanitary. Then I opened my bag for a bite of my kolache and it was hard as a rock I told the front politely and right in my face one of the girl said "hard?" Took it out of the bag and felt how hard it was started whispering to another staff member about how cold and hard it was instead of instantly remaking the one kolache. This was once easily the best coffee in Katy/Cinco Ranch area. However my last 3 visits have proven that, like many great starts, it's now only a shadow of its former glory. The once very well pulled latte is now ultra sickly sweet ala Starbucks. The once friendly and pleasant to talk to staff is now annoyed to be there, and certainly not interested in a friendly chat. As a bonus grievence, they have now taken to following the unfortunate trend of injecting politics into their decor. I know personally I've had enough politics for a life time in the last 4 years, and I'd just like a coffee without having more politics shoved into the mix. Top tier coffee shop! Not overly crowded though it did have a mid-day rush on a Friday. I went in to get some work done, and the ambiance was about a 50/50 split of people working and people chatting. Plenty of outlets. The wood-fired coffee is so unique, love the aroma and flavor of the coffee, combined with the creamy & dreamy moon milk...oh my, you are in for a treat! They can also make the moon milk non-dairy with oat milk, this is definitely a plus! The barista is super friendly and helpful, greeted us with a big smile and warm good morning, gave us a sample of the moon milk to try (since it was our first time here), explained the menu and gave us recommendations, and checked in with us afterwards as well. 1/2 moon latte... oh yes. I came here one Saturday morning to meet up with a friend and found this location to be in a corner spot of a shopping strip. Decent size parking lot, and plenty of seating inside. They have a sign to the very left that breaks down what their "moon" represents. 1/2 moon essentially means half sweet, which is PERFECT for me. I don't like sweet drinks, but can't drink my coffee black. Summer moon = sweet drink. Maybe next time I'll try a 1/4 moon. Love their menu with cold/hot beverages being summer/winter. My go to coffee order is a caramel latte, so when I originally placed my order, my barista asked if I had tried their moon milk. She gave me a sample & it was so smooth, creamy & just the right amount of sweet. I ended up not getting any syrups or extras added & it was the perfect latte for me. I've loved hitting up Summer Moon every time I'm in Austin--legit driving out of my way even if there wasn't a location near where I was staying. So I was *ecstatic* to see that Summer Moon opened a location in my old stomping grounds. I'm not afraid of sweetness in coffee drinks, but it's great how they offer 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full amounts of sweetness to appease everyone's taste. My personal favorite drink here is the blue moon latte. It is just like their regular latter plus lavender. You can't go wrong with a summermoon latte (hot) or wintermoon latte (iced). The location is very rando, but their delicious coffee makes the trek worth it! I got the hot 1/2 moon milk drink first, and when I received it, it was luke warm and tasted like straight up boiled milk LOL. Not very yummy :( but I went up to the counter and told the cashier that I wasn't a fan and she happily remade me a 1/2 winter moon drink instead. I will say you definitely have to like sweet, smooth, and milky coffee to enjoy this place as the moon milk that they add into the iced coffee is very creamy. It's not overpowering at all, and it's the perfect balance between being sweet from the moon milk, and bitter from the coffee! One downside: The food was really unimpressive. The Cheese Danish was bland and the banana muffin was super dry...we felt like we were eating a piece of stale white bread LOL. I am always looking for a place to study, so when someone in a foodie group that I'm a part of mentioned this coffee shop, I thought I'd check it out. Parking - I am not a fan of the parking lot of this shopping strip. It is a long and narrow lot, and the spaces can be narrow, making parking and maneuvering an issue - especially if you have a larger vehicle. Also, the lot is full often. I came on the Friday evening after Thanksgiving, and this area and shop were pretty busy. First impression - this is a cute little coffee shop with a trendy atmosphere. The layout is long and narrow, but there is plenty of seating. There is a mix of larger tables with seating for 6 and smaller 2 seater tables. Plus there is a wall of wood benches, so seating does not appear to be an issue here. This place is definitely kid-friendly, I noticed a small bookshelf with children's books along with a small table for kiddos. All of the seats are hard, so don't expect any comfy couches or chairs here. The lighting is also dim, something I noticed when trying to write my notes in my notebook. Ordering - the lady behind the counter was very passionate about the coffee when I explained to her that it was my first time here. She explained to me that they are known for their "moon milk" creamer, which she explained as tasting like melted vanilla ice cream. She recommended the half-moon latte, saying it was a good blend of coffee flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet. To eat, they have tacos and sandwiches. They also offer the normal coffee shop selection of muffins, croissants and various pastries, none of which which I tried. It took about 5-10 minutes from the time I placed my order before I received my drink. The coffee is definitely smooth and delicious, not bitter at all. And my half-moon latte was not overly sweet. Since I do like sweet drinks, I think I'll try the summermoon latte next time as it contains more moonmilk. They do offer free WiFi and plenty of outlets, and I noticed someone sitting at a table outside studying, so that is definitely an option as well, for those that prefer to enjoy their coffee with a view of Fry Rd. I believe the WiFi has a limit of 2 hours, when I connected my laptop a timer popped up. Overall, I think this coffee shop is a great addition to the area. If you're looking for quiet though, I would suggest bringing headphones because the noise does echo in this shop. But the coffee and service are great! read more

They always tell you their preference and I'd say you should definitely go with what they suggest because it's always good!
