honestly, my favorite coffee shop in the houston area. I will drive up here anytime for the moon milk. espresso is beautiful. together is just a joyous occasion. I don't usually drink any type of milk. but this i will get everytime. I usually get the moonraker or the 007. delish. i HIGHLY recommend. HIGHLY!!! read more

The beverage that I ordered was phenomenal. Interior deco and cleanliness was great but the customer service was not there. The cashier that took my order made me feel like it's an inconvenience that I'm there to place an order. Might give it another try since I really liked their coffee. read more

Was in the area & a friend recommended this coffee shop. They also have another location in Austin too. Ordered the Iced Blue Moon Latte (which is essentially a Lavender Latte), had wonderful lavender flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. My mom, also a avid coffee drinker got a hot vanilla latte and really enjoyed it as well. She commented "even better than Starbucks" which was surprising cause she LOVES Starbucks. Seating on the inside is limited. Parking is within the plaza, also pretty limited. They also have smoothies & pastries for all the non-caffeine drinkers! Overall, great shop! read more

One of my FAVORITE places to get a cortado. While slinging grounds, this crew is always super nice and great conversationalist. The jalapeño kolaches are delicious along with the chocolate croissants. Another favorite is a muffin crumble cake (?) and they come in different flavors. The cranberry is the best! Curbside service is always on point and the app is very user friendly. Great little shop with novelty gifts as well. Love, love, love this place. read more

This review is long overdue. I had seen summer moon coffee in san antonio when I used to live there. So I was really excited to hear they were expanding to Katy. There thing here is wood-fired coffee roasting and the moon milk which is their house-made creamer. Although you can get other dairy options if actual milk is not your thing. 11 am - Sunday, Kingsland blvd location 1. The entrance: end cap of a neighborhood shopping center. Plenty of parking. 2. The first vibe: Open with 2-table seating (bc of covid), outlets along the wall, there were a few people studying and just hanging out 3. Time 2 table: There were about 4 people in front of us but moved quickly. Id say about 3 minutes to get our coffee, and pastries 4. The menu: located on the wall behind the register. can seem a little daunting, but the staff is really friendly and ready to answer any questions 5. The server: girl at register was nice! 6. The drinks: yumm. Mine is the cold wintermoon latte which is pretty sweet. Sweet enough to not drown out the hearty coffee taste . You can really taste the coffee here. 7. The food: I'm not sure if they get their pastries delivered but they're delicious - they will warm them up for you. Pre-covid we would get them on plates but now they come in baggies that are labeled. 8. The dessert: see #7, they also have boxed sandwiches, salads, and other cold deli options at the register 9. The management: did not notice but there was a quite a bit of staff working the bar/line. Everyone was attentive and hardworking! 10. The cleanliness: Clean! all staff wore masks and tables were clean. We opted to sit outside bc it was just breezy enough and not too hot. I was super skeptical of "wood-fired coffee" the first several times I drove by this place. After quite some time and hearing several people rave about Summer Moon, I planned a Saturday coffee date for me and the hubster here. Folks - believe the hype. This place is out of this world (pun obviously intended). For starters, the shop itself is uber cute. As we sat and waited for our order, I just stared all around making notes of different finishes in the shop I'm going to find a way to incorporate in my house. So funsies! They have several variations of their signature drink which includes something called Moon Milk. I forget exactly what's in it, but it's sweet and milky deliciousness and you can order different portions of it in your drink (half moon, quarter moon, etc...cute, right?!). I also think there are non-dairy versions of the same stuff if you're not into full-octane milk. As far as I can tell, this business is still thriving in the middle of COVID. It's easy to see why. Super cute little coffee shop with a fun new take on everyone's favorite hot bean juice. Give it a try! read more

I consider Summer Moon the of all coffees in the Houston area. Yes, I know they're originally from Austin, TX. But I was so ecstatic when I found out they had located in the Houston area. My go to recommendation is their Wintermoon latte, hot or iced, can't go wrong with either of them. The Katy located is the main 1 I go to, but each location I've been to in Houston, the coffee always turns out great. The koloaches are great as well, the bread isn't dense, but you do get a perfect airy bite each time. The only thing I wish they had, was a membership program for frequent customers. The service is top notch as well, especially during coffee rush hours. They keep enough staff on tap to have the lines flowing smoothly. read more

I liked this spot, friendly and helpful staff and good coffee. I wish it was written somewhere on the menu what exactly was moonmilk and that the moonmilk is incredibly sweet. I didn't know it was sweet, I ended up not drinking my latte. I went back and got a regular latte which was really good! Minus a star cause they charge extra for milk alternatives... Which cost the same or less than milk and have a longer shelf life read more

Cute atmosphere. Calm and quiet. I got an iced mocha moon (iced coffee), banana bread and a chocolate croissant. The croissant was stale and the banana bread tastes more like butter and less less banana. The coffee was good but nothing special. I like the overall atmosphere but I probably won't be back to order any food or drinks. If you need a quiet place to study, this place is great. read more

Finally got to make it out to summer moon and it was delicious! I got the seasonal autumn moon, blue moon, wintermoon, and 007. All of the coffee drinks were really good! You can adjust the moon milk in your drinks as needed. Customer service was also on point. Would highly recommend this coffee shop! read more

I love the unique coffee blends they have here. I got the blue moon with 3/4 sweetness, a little bit on the sweeter side. I would recommend getting either 50% or 25% sweetness if you prefer your coffee not to be sweet. Can't wait to try other blends. read more

I had gotten a blue moon latte with 1/8 (whisper) blue moon. 1/8 is the less sweet. The mixture was prefect. Staff where super helpful and very patient with all my questions. It's a bit pricey but compared to Starbucks it's the same price so the normal for a crafted coffee. Well worth every penny. I also go the carrot cake....two thumbs up. It had, nuts, pineapple, carrot bits and I think raisins. read more

Unfortunately I have only been once and during Covid so I wasn't able to stay and work. I ordered the Half Moon Latte. It wasn't bad. I also bought the moon milk and oat milk (as a gift) to go. I wasn't crazy about the moon milk but I only used it as creamer with the coffee pods. I asked how many grams of sugar are in the moon milk but they said they didn't know, all they could tell me is that there are 7 different sweeteners in it. I ended up using 1/4 of the container with one k-pod and I was worried it was too much sugar. Who knows. read more

My favorite coffee shop from Austin finally here. Now I don't have to drive 2+ hrs anymore to get my summermoon latte. So, why do I like it so much? Well Bc of the wood- fired roasted coffee. And it sure does make a different. And the different option of milk choices. Hopefully they will open more location across Houston, so my drive will be even shorter. One thing I do miss is the roasted coffee fragrance from the Austin location, and the Austin hippy decor. read more

LOVE this place and would recommend on a weekday early morning as they usually aren't that busy. VERY busy on weekends and later mornings in the week. I go for the Half Moon latte Their yogurt parfaits are delish and made with house made granola! And those breakfast tacos... mmmm yum! My only complaint is that you get 1 reward point per purchase no matter what you spend like $2 or $50, unlike a coffee chain that rewards more fairly based on dollar amount. I am very thankful they offer a rewards program though so it's stiil great read more

Wow! What an opening event! They really went all out with decor, raffles, live music, and samples. We were greeted warmly at the door and even while they were busy, the man behind the register was super patient and friendly as we asked a bunch of questions about their extensive menu. Ultimately I settled on an iced quarter moon (like a full moon but with 1/4 sweetness) which was admittedly plenty sweet for me. I also got to try their wood-roasted coffee (so smooth!) and famous moon milk (sweet and creamy). Decor-wise, this new venue reminds me of a 3rd-wave version of Starbucks with their layout, custom swag, and pastries but I'm glad they finally came to (or near) Houston. While this is definitely a bit of a drive out of central Houston since it's in Katy, I'd say that the drive was worth it! read more

If you are into specialty coffee this is not it! The place is cute, but the coffee is roasted so dark all of its oils are coming out, which is not a thing that should happen with well roasted coffee. They have good drinks if you love drinking sugar and lots of it. If you are not looking for specialty grade coffee, then you probably will love this place, it's like a Starbucks. Last time I went they were out of all baked goods so didn't even get to enjoy that. Again, if you are not looking for well roasted, single origin type of coffee then you may like this place, if you are on the hunt for great quality coffee with lighter roasts, this is definitely not it. read more

My favorite coffee shop in all of Houston. My husband and I initially discovered this spot when we were visiting Austin and LOVED it. We found out couple months later that SMC had multiple locations in the burbs of Houston! When we found this out, we immediately went to the nearest one in Katy. Our go tos are the Summer Moon Latte (you can get 1/2 or 3/4 Summer Moon depending on how sweet you like it), Mocha Moon Latte, and S'mores Latte (it's not on the menu but they were able to make this for us, we had it in Austin. My only complaint that it's not closer to where we live! Please open one in Houston proper! read more

Each matcha is $8.5. They claim to use ceremonial grade matcha but under the matcha latte list, there is only one drink labeled CG (ceremonial grade) while others do not. The CG is the basic and they use agave for sweetening. They also don't hand mix per cup. It is pre-batched. I'm not a pre-batch hater although I do prefer each cup to be hand mixed, so I will give it a chance if it tastes good. The CG latte was surprisingly smooth and pretty good! Not bitter at all imo, but it was slightly grainy. They used the perfect amount of agave to balance. It wasn't sweet either. Just perfect balanced flavor for a regular CG matcha latte. The other matcha latte I ordered was the banana. It is SO GOOD! A lot grainier than the CG, though. But I would definitely order that again if I come to Katy. It has a cinnamon flavor in it (probably why it felt grainier than CG) and mixed with the banana flavor was just very yummy. Highly recommend!

In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

Really sucks having to write this review but it's been weighing on my mind. I considered not writing this review because I realize businesses are taking a hit during COVID but there is NO excuse for this cramped coffee shop to not enforce any social distancing, to allow customers to sit jam-packed indoors without masks, and to not enforce the mandatory mask order that was rolled out for businesses to strictly enforce within their joint. All we were asked to do to limit the spread of the virus was do our part, and it sucked to see Summer Moon not doing theirs.....during the PEAK of COVID cases in Houston, at that. Let's just say Summer Moon cares more about selling you their funny "moon milk" and making a quick buck before they tell you they care about your well-being. read more

What a great coffee place. The beans here is pretty good. And there milk is pretty good also. Be careful, it can be sweet. If you are into sweet coffee drinks its the place for you. But you can lower the milk level which makes it not as sweet. I like it at 50% with a shot of espresso. read more
