The whole process can surprise you with hard questions that really get at the heart of things: "Who would you trust with your kids if something were to happen to you? Recommend against working with Julia, who had trouble explaining how her recommendations made sense given our basic request/questions. Kelly was fast an easy to create initial trust but trying to update was a pain. Got the run around via email, waited weeks to coordinate across multiple schedules for a follow up call they insisted was necessary and it became evident minutes into the conversation that this could have been easily resolved via email. They seem to crank out estates/trusts for folks covered under legal insurance plans (Legalease in my case), but don't care about customer service once done. read more

Our family trust that I made myself years ago was over due for an amendment. Summerall law was part of my employer's legal plan, and had excellent reviews. Hence, we decided to go with them. Kelly was assigned to our case, and was excellent to work with. Due to COVID-19, most of our interactions were done over the phone, email and over google meet. This turned out to be extremely convenient for us. Hope they continue to offer this option even after the COVID pandemic ends. We only had to go once to the office to have our documents notarized. Kelly even offered us an option to notarize these without leaving our house as well. Kelly was extremely responsive to our questions over email. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of estate planning including foreign beneficiaries, and foreign successor trustees. He also suggested some changes to our estate plan, such as having our oldest child automatically become a trustee/health care advocate at the right age. These were welcome changes, which we would have never thought about on our own. These could potentially save us the trouble of amending our documents again in the future.
