I have been coming to this golf course for a couple of years now. It was one of my favorite in the area. Not anymore. Most recently they have been bought out and are under new management. Tee times are every seven minutes which cause the game and holes to be completely backed up. Do not expect to get 18 holes in if you're playing anytime past two. On top of them packing in teetimes they have no Rangers and no management therefore almost every time I go and play there are more than five people playing at a hole. (Rules are no more than 4). It is literally a free-for-all. Another time I went two people went in front of me when their tee time was later and left the pair that they were paired up with. Again, all of this contributes to the backing up of the course. All I can say is with the new management it is absolutely terrible and they do not care. Very disappointing this place is not what it used to be. FYI the same management company owns Bloomingfield , Cypress Creek, and Huntington Hills, expect the same mess and lack of management at all these courses. On a positive note, the greens look really good and the course is well kept however what's the point when you can't even play a full 18 holes due to the backing up of the course. read more

Would leave 0 stars if I could. I had the first tee time of the day on Saturday and the Marshall let me start early. By the time I got to the 10th tee there are 5 groups ahead of me now because they allow 9 hole back nine play in the morning. The inside staff did not care that my round was affected by their poor management / clear money first thought process. When i brought it to their attention the answer was I played too fast and was too far ahead of the pace of play. Ya know the exact reason I paid good money for the first tee time. So there isn't a pace of play issue. If you're looking for a 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 hour round this is your place. It's a-shame because the course is in great shape. read more

Arrived and was pleasantly surprised at the upgrades they have made on the practice areas at the course. It's really impressive and management has done an awesome job! Some areas are for members only now. I checked in at the pro shop and chatted with some of the guys inside for a few. Don who works the cart barn is always great to talk to and always in a good mood. Spoke to him for a few minutes before going out and starting my round. Got paired up with another regular that plays here often. It was a good pairing as we both had a similar golf game. The course is in great shape, it is a little wet on a few holes, we have been getting rain more often these days so that is understandable. The overall course conditions were good, only about 4 holes were cart path only if I remember correctly. Green putted well, no inconsistencies, I just need to learn how to putt better. This course is fun and challenging with water hazards, so hit them straight and you should be good to go. I am looking forward to playing this course again. Some pros and cons. Pros: Convenient location, easy access with plenty of parking. The staff here in the pro shop are excellent, Don in the cart barn was a great guy to chat with! The golf carts are newer and have GPS, very nice ride! The practice areas here are phenomenal, nice putting green with lots of room to make those extremely long putts. Driving range is awesome. There is also a beverage cart and saw it several times throughout the round so there is no reason to go thirsty during the day. Ball cleaners were available throughout the course. Pace of play was good, didn't have to wait until the last hole, which was a huge surprise. Cons: The chipping green to work on your short game with a sand trap to utilize is only for members. read more

Summerfield crossing golfers club itself is decent, and I respect the work that goes into maintaining it, but the pricing has gotten out of hand. $90 for a Saturday morning tee time just doesn't match the quality. They pack tee times every 7 minutes, leading to slow rounds, and the $30 "6-pack special" feels excessive--especially with messages sent to the golf cart mid round warning that outside beverages will be confiscated (really? By who?). I don't mind paying a premium for a truly premium experience (but be prepared to travel for that if you're a local), but this just feels like pricing out regular golfers without the course to back it up. I hope they reconsider their approach. read more

It's a nice course, but the tee times are very close together. There was a line of five golf carts behind us waiting as well as a group right in front of us. It was not that big of a deal just something to take note of. The course is fun, but you can get a better experience (less rushed, better maintained greens) at other courses for the same price. Golf carts are supposed to shut down when you get too close to the green, but they shut down even when you're not close which can be annoying. Overall fine place, but I wouldn't go unless I had no other option. read more

Very discriminatory, save yourself the trouble. Hoa rules are enforced only against certain groups. They only enforce when Convenient to them. They limit your water usage and blame community for water but have sprinklers broken running from midnight until sun up splurging water at fire hydrant speeds. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Easier to work with local Afghans at bazaar with no translator. Only speak English don't let them hear you speak another language or you'll regret it. They will make up temporary restrictions or rules to control You but wont Show documentation or proof. read more

New management unfortunately. The weekend Brunch has changed and the Buffett is no longer available. it is just a limited menu to order from. The service had gone down hill and takes forever to get your order. The restaurant is now empTy on the weekends for a reason. Do not come here for the brunch anymore. read more

It's ok. For this visit I don't understand the 4+ star reviews. Obviously there had been a lot of rain because of standing water on the course in many areas but of course they can't control the weather. Greens were very inconsistent - some rolled well and others not so much. The bunkers appear to not be maintained very well. Course overall has a decent layout with some interesting holes. Reasonably priced it fit the budget perfectly for a family foursome. I also didn't understand the gas carts vs. electric. Usually gas means lots of hills and inclines but this was a typical flat Florida course. I would probably give them another try if in the area. read more

The golf course is fine, but there is no management. The last time I played, the tee times were 30 minutes behind schedule and it was only 10:00 a.m. The "starter" was doing nothing and there was a traffic back-up at the first tee. Complete chaos. When we finally got started, it took over 5 1/2 hours to get the round in. I was going to try it again and scheduled a tee time for 11:07 on March 12. However, my plans changed so I called in on March 10 to cancel the reservation (you cannot cancel it on line). I got their voice mail which instructed me to leave a message, so I left a message to cancel the reservation. I thought that was done until I was notified 2 days later that they had charged my American Express for 4 rounds of golf ($196). I called them and spoke to a rep in the pro shop who said he couldn't help me. He transferred me to the GM, but I got his voice mail. I left him a message but did not get a call back, so I called again the next day and left another message. I still have not gotten a call back. Buyer beware - this is a very poorly run organization. I have disputed the charge with American Express, but should not have to go through that process. I have no choice, though, due to their lack of management. read more

Drove 1100 miles with a 6:30 am tee time. Made the turn and played the first 11 holes in under 2 hours, then was greeted with a league that the club house let start on hole 10. Over 3 hours to play the next 8 holes. So don't book any early tee times thinking you can get a round in at a decent time. Will never go back. read more

When a single walks in at 715 to play 9 holes and says being a non member we can't get you off until after 12 off the back 9. Never have I experienced a golf course in such bad shape to turn down money from people wanting to play that track! They are wanting to be a premium golf course but don't offer the full amenities to warrant that respons. read more

For a July round of golf, $48/pp is steep for the condition of the course. We were soaked my reclaimed water sprinklers that were broken, tee boxes were stacked because of tee box renovations, and ZERO water jugs on the course. Go somewhere else. read more

Super friendly people welcomed me and made me feel right at home. Talked me into eating at Doc's instead of heading to another restaurant. And it was pretty good. Interesting course. Winds through some neighborhoods, incorporating natural water features. Lots of water, some you've gotta hit over, some to the sides. Regular and flat sand hazards, but easy enough to play past them. One thing I didn't care for was how they started us on the 10th tee due to a league playing on the front 9. I would've booked another time if I'd have known that first. Will check in the future before booking. Some fast singles (3 different ones) came up on us and played through...not a big problem. I found it strange --but fine-- that the paved cart paths would somethings just...end. No signs or other instructions so we just drive on the grass along the course. Just kinda weird. Beautiful surroundings, though; some of the nicest I've seen. Carts are gas and no GPS. Not a prob, just used to electric and the GPS stuff is handy. My buddy and I are up in the air as to whether we'll give this course another go. read more

I made a reservation for 3 o'clock they were able to accommodate me earlier in the afternoon which was good. the course is in good condition and I hope to go back to play again. Very hot missing the cart girl. But at the turn I came in for a drink . Only one coming in the grille. I am a big guy I had to stare at all the people . The lady behind the bar never looked up, only when the lady wiping the table finally said can I help you sir with a smile as I turned to leave did the bartender say sir can I help you . I really liked the course it was very hot and I needed ice and a drink to continue. Don't know if it was a bad day but it was just a little cold in side. Customer service starts at the front desk which it did and continues until the clubs go back in the car. But I'll be back unfinished business on the course. read more

I have been coming to this course for a while, but now it is under new management. The course conditions have declined quite rapidly. I went to play the other day and after I paid and approached the tee box right on time, a Marshall comes up and says there is a tournament going on and there are 4 groups ahead of me. I tee off 50 minutes late and then end up playing for 6 hours because the course is so backed up. The new management is really messing this course up and driving regulars away. Also, my car was broken into in the parking lot while I was golfing. I really hope this turns around before it ends ip shutting down. read more

Decent course for the money. $50 for 18 with a cart but I got paired up with another single and we had to share one cart (never had to do that before). A few challenging pin locations and nice water view on a few holes. Staff is nice and definitely seems like there's a good group of golfers who consistently play so the atmosphere is positive around the clubhouse. read more

I have been to Summerfield once to golf and countless times for meetings, Sunday brunch, lunch or to meet someone for a quick drink. First thing I want to mention is this is a family owned small business, something that is not very common with golf courses. I know nothing about golf but the one time I came to golf with some friends it started with a lesson that was excellent. The instructor asked me about all sports I had played and was able to show me how to swing and what to do based on what I knew about other sports. While golfing it was obvious to many that I was new at it and I stopped and let other golfers play through. Many of the experienced golfers stopped to politely give me some pointers and recognize my efforts. The kindness of the other golfers was what I truly loved about my day golfing. The Sunday brunch is excellent they offer eggs / omelettes made to your liking. They will use egg whites and non-stick spray instead of butter for the pan. They over many sides and fresh made waffles made while you wait. read more

Not a course for non-members. This was a very frustrating experience for us. We live on the course and were considering membership and will definitely not be pursuing it. My husband and I both took the day off work to take my father in law, an out of town guest and my son on their first golf outing. We got my son clubs for his recent birthday and he was so excited to learn. Understanding that there were others who were going to finish the holes more quickly, we let 3 different groups go ahead of us with zero qualms. Additionally, we were only letting my son hit one ball per hole and we played closest ball. I am very pregnant and was not playing and was just along for the ride. We have played golf before and while we weren't fast, our pace was not unreasonable by any measure because of the concessions we made, of our own volition. Twice we were rushed by an employee. The first time the employee told my husband that we were "significantly behind", which was such a stretch it was almost laughable. Because of this, my out of town guest started skipping holes altogether and my father in law was rushing through his hits and we all skipped the 4th hole. A second time, the same employee passed right by my husband and father in law and came straight to my cart (with two women) asking if we had played scramble before, explaining that it sped up the game... it was so disgustingly sexist, as I was not even playing and she was only playing every other hole at that point, and most of them not even to completion. I responded that not only was that how we were playing, but that we had also let 3 groups pass us in the beginning to be courteous, of our own free will. We were asked to let the group of "members" behind us pass if they came up, and we agreed, though at this point I was not thrilled at this request because we paid to be there, were already making concessions just as we had shared with him, and were still unreasonably bugged twice. We stopped our game and waited for a while to let the group behind us pass. They asked US if we were being harassed ...come to find out, they were also being harassed in the same way! Though we paid for 18 holes, my out of town guest, my son who was so excited to try and I (who took the day off of work for this) left after 8 holes. This happened the last time we brought out of town very seasoned golfers to this course, too. We were asked to speed it up when we were going a completely reasonable pace, by comparison to other courses we have visited, in favor of members who drunkenly sped through the course. Today we found out that this is a trend, and being considerate is trumped by paying a mere $99/yr over $48 a session x4 golfers each time (not to mention the over $100 we spent in drinks and snacks). This is no way to treat paying guests. The group behind us were very vocal to us about feeling like this, too. I hope they complained/left a similar review somewhere. We will not be pursuing membership and though we literally live at hole 1, would rather drive across town so that we actually have an opportunity to enjoy the game and let my son get excited about this budding new passion, too. I felt so bad that this was the first golf experience that we gave my father in law, who while hadn't golfed a full game before, has spent plenty of time with us at driving ranges (point being that he was not so inept that he was considerably slowing our game down, either). Do better, Summerfield. Totally unacceptable. The only reason this wasn't one star is because the gal at the cafe was very kind and the course was nice, but our experience was totally ruined and I wish I could get that time (and money!) back to have done something less stressful ...than golfing. read more

Really fun course, but man I wish they would work on the greens. Not sure what some other people are saying positive things about the greens, they must not golf anywhere else. They are like concrete and bare of quality grass, and of all parts of a golf course you shouldn't have areas of disrepair it's the greens. Some parts of some of the greens are bare down to the dirt. That should be unacceptable for a any value of course is the greens. I still rate a 3 because we love the open layout and the play of the course and the design. Some challenging but fun holes but nothing that makes you want to quit golfing lol. I enjoy no matter where your ball lays you have a decent shot at the green or fairway (unless you are in the woods ha ha). The mix up of 5s, 4s, and 3s are nice. It's also a Great price and overall value. I truly would want to come here more often it's a very fun course but the greens are still a thorn in our sides. To be honest my large Group of friends stopped playing here earlier this year because of wretched green conditions, especially in comparison to similarly priced courses in the area (example: Bloomingdale, diamond hill, Apollo beach, and cypress creek). Now they seem a little bit better then earlier in year, but it's still the one thing holding us back from being our primary choice for a round of golf. Also bunkers were not well maintained. Ability to be a nice course. This place has not been taken care of. The greens were some of the poorest I have seen in a long time. There was lots of places throughout the course that was just bare sand (not sand traps-outright missing grass!) The layout is nice. Some holes were challenging and long. We were constantly rushed. Singles and pairs constantly coming up on us before we were done with a hole (not pros! Just trying to have a good time). Trying to do the right thing, we let people play through, then we were talked to about taking to long. I will not return. I do suggest pairing doubles to make a foursome. Player management could have made our outing better. read more

Stopped by for to watch some Monday Night Football after I saw a post about it on NextDoor. Kerin mentioned it and my husband and I decided to come along. They had a free keg full of Bud Light so that also played a role. Yeah yeah, Bud Light, I know..but free beer! Can't beat that. They have a limited menu including nachos, burgers, chicken strips -- all decently priced. We stayed until a bit past half time. They also had a guess the final score game with the change to win a bottle of liquor. I didn't win. The location has a good amount of space and looks like a great place to rent out for a party. So great I considered it for my grandmothers birthday -- the owner mentioned it was $500 for 5 hours; however, the date I was looking to rent was not available. They have lots of people that come and eat there after their golf tournaments so their availability is limited. They also have brunch on Sundays -- for about $12 you get a buffet which includes omelettes, waffle station, bacon, sausage, grits, fruit, and more. Overall the staff was nice, I definitely want to try to stop by again. This place seems really laid back, and I feel like I'm supporting the locals instead of big a business that just sees me as another paying customer. read more

Ate dinner at Doc's in 3/20 as they had a great Salmon and Prime Rib entree advertised. We frequent Doc's for their Sunday breakfast Buffett which is amazing and Tony certainly cooked up a great dinner. Dinner rolls were delicious and my wife said her Salmon and lobster bisque soup was outstanding. My prime rib was cooked perfectly and the au gratin potatoes were outstanding. Have golfed there over the past 15 years, and it has steadily declined. I have never seen it this bad. The greens are in the worst shape I have ever seen them. It is clear that they are not taking care of the course which is sad because I remember when this was one of the best courses in the area. The cost does not equal the quality you get. read more
