The reasonable pricing, consistently friendly people and great finds kick-started their love for thrifting. Today I was admiring a lovely pair of 1940's Bakelite earrings in a locked case. Even though I managed to control myself and walk away, my enabler husband asked to see them. It turns out the woman who helped him was the vendor for that section. She was so kind to offer me a discount, which of course I couldn't refuse. :) It's such a wonderfully nostalgic place -- we'll always be back!

" and the male owner said "can you move I want to bring stuff in" I didn't move, instead I asked the price....he paused and said 95. I moved out of his way and said "I do t know what's going on here here but the vibes are insane and terrible." "Yeah I know sorry about that" all I said was "yeah it's terrible" and I left. Drove 2 hours to shop here. I will never return. Get a divorce or don't work together maybe. You guys are wild!

It is over priced for second hand clothing even in Carpenteria. Go to American Cancer Discovery stores or Assistance League stores instead where you are treated with respect. Why the owner allows such a rude lady to work for her is beyond my understanding. I should have listened to the other reviews that said the same things.

It's my first go to when looking for something new, and I rarely leave empty handed. The selection of clothes are seasonally appropriate, and Jana is good about having those shoulder season items as well. Clothing, shoes, jewelry, belts, bags, name it, her store is small but packed with treasures! I have even started consigning there and her pricing is fair. Definitely worth a stop in, you might very well get hooked like I have.

But all of it is in good condition and the fact that the proceeds go to such a good cause is reason enough for me to shop there instead of a Consignment shop! While in Solvang, we found this really cool vintage thrift shop and walked around a bit. The inside had so many items to look at, but still felt very organized and didn't leave me feeling overwhelmed. They had everything - old records, comics, purses, fur coats, glassware -- even backstage passes from different concerts which I thought was pretty cool. I am always on the hunt for Uranium glass and A Piece of the Past had a few items. One being an ashtray and another being a set of glasses that I am still kicking myself for not just buying. Service was very friendly throughout the store and I also thought that most of the items were fairly priced - it didn't feel like they were trying to gouge anyone. Check them out!

Happiness set in as soon as I walked through the door. Clean, organized, bright and more importantly -- no old, dirty smell! The first item that caught my eye was a handmade mug. It reminded me of when my grandson was learning the alphabet as he would excitedly shout "N is for Narwhal!" Needless to say, I couldn't put it back down. We browsed every corner and found so many lovely items, including a beautiful vintage vanity (on my wish list). Prices were surprisingly reasonable, which made it really difficult not to buy more. As we were ready to check out with my mug, the husband pointed out a tiny silver scoop in a locked case. He could tell on my face that I wanted to add it to my collection, so he called someone to open the case -- he's such an enabler. :) The staff are easy to find, incredibly friendly and helpful. Such a great place -- we'll be back!

**February 2024: Monday Late Morning Visit**…read more I've been to a number of Assistance Leagues throughout California and I really like this branches selection and layout. They have a wide selection of women's apparel and four dressing rooms. In the back of the shop are the higher quality items that are also separated by garment type. It has a very boutiquey feel to it and all the volunteers are super sweet. Prices were very fair/competitive to other thrift shops, but I scored a long sleeve and slacks for half off. The next time I'm in the Santa Barbara area I will definitely be back!

And it was worth the trip just to walk thru in amazement at all the variety wedged so perfectly into such a small space? And if you wanted something specific, not only would they have exactly what you wanted, no matter how obscure, the person working knew exactly where to find it immediately. This shop is like that. Expect expertly curated early Spanish, Mexican, including borderlands, and Indian, hanging art and antiques. Adding to the allure, it's a place you have to know about to know about. For example, the listed phone number is an old landline that no longer works. You're going to have to go there to see if the owner has hung the Gone Fishing sign or not, which is fine because it is an adventure just finding the place. Should you decide to take on the wilds of Montecito, you'll find the little corner where you need to be is kind of a major intersection for the town. As such, it is crammed with these teeny little 'shopping centers,' each with separate entrances that are super close to each other in a way that can get Waze confused. Hint - coming away from the 101, facing the mountains, after you pass the light, it's on your left in the second center back.

Same thing nobody called me back about some questions I had on fabric and some products. So sadly, I've dropped them down from 5 to 3 stars because if you can't get information, especially when you're willing to pay a pretty penny, then that send a message that they don't stand behind their product or they don't really believe in their customer service. I have waited six months and had similar experiences so this isn't a one off. I'll try again down the line and hope things will have improved. I've tried to ask for the owner but she's not there. I wanted to give the feedback directly but seems like I'm out of block as well. I hope this helps. I look forward to updating this review in time.

Valley Vintage Marketplace was not an obvious vintage/antique shop as we walked by. There wasn't…read moreany clear signage from the outside, but we were drawn in by some items at the entrance. It wasn't until we took a few steps in that we noticed a table with a book to provide your contact info, business cards and a framed description of the business. They carry mostly larger items -- furniture and furnishings. The second floor has some clothing and accessories. I was surprised to have found another vintage vanity. The universe is trying to tell me something... It's not overly crowded with items and easy to navigate. Clean and organized well. I love that all their sales benefit the community -- senior and veteran services, meals, etc.
