I was extremely excited to finally check out this store! Unfortunately, the experience was disheartening. From the moment i stepped foot into this store i felt unwelcome, Even walking in no one even acknowledged me or other customers. The owner had a lot of her girlfriends over, the friends seemed upset they had customers. Not only that but, even going to and from one point of the store to the other was hard. The friends were sitting in the walk areas in chairs, Thus making it awkward to walk by or to even look at the merchandise. Most of the stuff was nice to look at, although if I am being honest seemed like thrift store finds with a higher price tag. Finally, when I did went to purchase something it took 20 minutes for the owners friend to check out a single item. I had high hopes for this place but left feeling judged and as if my money wasn't wanted. P.s this place is not wheel chair friendly. read more

Beware they are liars!! I spoke with Claire who said she could probably get $3000 for my sofa and I was quite surprised even though the couch retails for $8800 ... then she said I needed to pay for the moving fee of $150 which was fine. Then I find out the split is 60% them and 40% me which was still ok with me. I called the store to ask about the moving and spoke with the owner who said the maximum I could get would be $1000 and they barely have room for the couch. Then she picking up the cost is minimum $200 ... doing the math I said best situation make $200!!!! I took away all of my ads and now my new couch is arriving and looks like I have to give it to charity but better than giving it to that store BEWARE I am sure their reviews are fake read more

I did a lot of research to sell at a consignment store. I walked into the Art Of Consignment to get a feel for the store's atmosphere and clientele. The minute I walked in I felt the ambiance was inviting and comfortable. You don't get GREAT customer service anymore whether it is online or in a store. I was greeted by a woman named Clare. Clare was welcoming, friendly, had a great knowledge of all the items in the store, with a Great sense of humor. I read a complaint on YELP and I immediately knew it must have been a mistake because I have had nothing but consistent excellent service. I have been a consigner for five months and I am proud to be part of the Art of Consignment family. read more

Both the mother and daughter in this duo are bright business women with taste and class, and the integrity and accountability that come along with their deep roots in Santa Barbara. I had last visited the store years ago when it was in disrepair after a roof leak. Under the new owners, the store now has a clean, homey, refined feel to it, and higher-end merchandise. I've been going to this consignment for several years and am very disappointed in their customer service and payment policy. I had placed a brand new Pottery Barn Wingback velvet chair to pick up right around 30 days and was told by the sales person that someone was very interested, so I left it there for a while longer. Came back about 2 months later and the chair had been sold and instead of receiving 1/2 the price I received 1/4 of the original price. No calls were made after the sale and did not share when it was sold. All they could say was it was their policy. I guess they don't have the time to put up tags on their stuff with dates of lowered prices as Miss Daisy Consignment at La Cumbre, even though there were three people sitting their with a huge dog that I almost tripped over. Only sorry's and defensive attitude were to be had. Needles to say I will not be placing things at their store or buying anything from them. I could have gotten the 1/2 price easliy at other consignments or Craigslist. read more

I went into this store after reading other reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, Judy sold me a table for $125, but upon charging my card and printing the receipt, Amy walked over and changed her mind and requested that I pay $375 instead. I could not, but left me phone number so they could call if they ever got anything similar in stock. Instead Amy and the store's former owner Jane both used my phone number to harass me after I posted about my experience on another online forum. Amy cursed at me immediately after calling my number, calling me f***ing d**. I will never spend money at a place that treats their customers this way. Also, this place was not observing any masking protocol for covid. read more

I have no idea why my earlier review was filtered by Yelp into the "not currently recommended area". This seems like a very bad practice by Yelp as my review was authentic and based upon my recent experience there. I purchased a great wing back chair at a very fair price and it looks like the place has recently been refurbished on the inside with a nice selection of pieces.
