Decided to get back into archery after 30years away from it.. explained to the young man there what I was looking for and he got me set up on a nice Bear Adapt2 HP w/ready to hunt pack, arrows, a release, a backyard target, bow case.. we got the 20yd pin dialed in.. archery has changed a bit in 30 years.. he was super patient with my questions as I got up to speed on new stuff..just an all around good experience.. customers who were there were also friendly and helpful. Haven't shot my bow in 15+ years so saying I'm a little rusty is an understatement. My son (7years old) and I went down to summit archery to see if we could get a little help getting back into archery. Luckily a young man named Steven was there. Even though the place was super busy, he was still super patient with all my stupid questions. He even helped my son and I get our bows sighted back in. The equipment and technology has changed so much since last I shot, and he took the time to explain everything and helped set us up with some new stuff. Wasn't pushy at all. Just let us know what we needed. Very thankful to have met Steven because now my son is hooked after Steven gave him a few pointers and helped him hit his first bullseye. This place is awesome, everyone there is so helpful. I've had 3 different bows throughout the years and always taken them to Summit Archery for my tweaks or improvements. They have a full line of Mathews, Bowtech, PSE and Mission bows and all the accessories/arrows/gear you could need. They also have a great range for practice or testing out new bows. They even do classes for kids (or adult children!) during the week to fuel that archery interest in your little ones. I was just in trying out new bows and they didn't mind taking the time to show me bow after bow after bow...very knowledgeable on all brands and no bias towards one company or another. Some places will push one company on you and try to pressure you one way or talk down on certain brands, you wont find that here. Whether its a simple peep alignment or a whole new bow with all the latest and greatest accessories, you can get it here at a great price. I wont go anywhere else, you should definitely give them a chance, they'll work hard to do it right the first time and have you come back the next time. Top notch! One last note: if you watch the outdoor shows and catch the Scent Blocker hunting program you'll see this shop on there. I've bought two bows from Jeff down at Summit. He and his family and employees take care of you 100% from start to finish. Jeff has also worked with me on 2 warranty issues and treated me with great respect and treated my bow like it was his own. There are other bow shops closer to me in the St. Charles area, but they just don't stack up against Summit. Highly recommend. read more

I will never go back to this place. I went in looking to purchase a new bow. Waited 5 min at the counter with no customers around, young guy sitting at the workbench right in front me ignoring me till I finally had to ask him help me. I had two simple questions. He was short with me, rude and made it clear that I was wasting his time. I got his message and went out the door. And the next day I went elsewhere and spent $500 on a new bow. I thought the experience over and hoped maybe I caught Summit Archery on a bad day (it happens). So went back a day later to have the new bow set up. Same guy, same crappy attitude, he set everything up quickly, complained about it, didnt measure just said hold the bow up and "ah looks good" charged us $35 (just for the set up) and done in 5 minutes. Coming to find out at another archery shop nothing was right!! Miss meassured the draw length by 2 inches too short! And cut the arrows too short because he didn't measure me properly. Total I spend almost a hundred dollars there and it was all for nothing! They just don't care about their customers and making sure their happy. I made multiple attempts and same result. Don't waste your time at Summit Archery. Unless you want to be left alone and just shoot indoors. Which is fine sometimes. Other than that worthless. read more
