After the building ignored my requests for someone to come measure it, I hired a certified appraisal company myself. The actual size is 455 square feet. That's not a small mistake, that's a complete misrepresentation. The building manager, Taylor, made things worse. I called him and he said he would come measure the apartment but never did. He also never returned calls. The only time I got in touch with him was when I called the leasing line and he picked up. This kind of management is unacceptable for a building at this price point.

They won't update you on construction that's promised to start at 9am (it starts at 5am anyway), it's impossible to contact anyone after you sign your lease (annoying process anyway), construction nearby that literally knocks items off a bookcase from vibration. They'll install loud, broken air conditioning units above your bedroom. They won't cancel your renters insurance as promised. You can smell marijuana smoke in your "home" from the unit down the hall, along with plenty of other smells and noise from people playing instruments or loud video games with their door open, for example. Personally, I'd rather spend $1000 less a month to live somewhere nicer nearby instead of being subjected to consistent and large rent increases. They'll let you know when your car is stuck in the garage because the door doesn't open at least. It's not even a great area of town--depending on what you're looking for.

He made claims that appliances and systems in a house were not working and yet they were. By the time, within two days, it was shown he was mistaken he made no amendments to his report; and that affected the loan status. He used words like may, perhaps and might, when discussing possibilities that would affect and frighten anyone considering homeownership of an aging residence. He offered unsolicited, personal opinions about fixtures and vintage and design which contradicted the buyer and caused discomfort and undo concern. In a nutshell , he is a classic example that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
