We were really sad and ended up at Hood River Distillery where the owner mentioned Knot Another Hat just around the block! Oh. My. Gosh. For as many times as I come to Hood River I'm baffled at myself that I hadn't been to this shop! What is wrong with me?! We open the shop door and it was just pure magic, fiber heaven, a place of solace for those that work with fiber. The space is big, bright and beautifully set up. Right when you walk in there is a living room style set-up where knitters and crocheters come to do their work and hang out. The shop owner was very friendly and informative. We had questions about a few products and she answered them. She also let us in on Wine and Wool night where you come with your knitting/crochet project and drink wine! I love that there is a giant selection of Berroco yarn--which I am fond of. There was also a fair selection of unique yarns like locally spun yarn and imported yarn (from Ireland)! She had a small selection of needles, hooks and other supplies in a corner. Lots of cute project bags that are locally crafted! There was a nice selection of knit/crochet themed misc stuff, too! We live in a place that values community, and their business model is very anti community oriented. The yarn is beautiful, but the experience is not. The T shirt design, albeit simple, had very deep meaning and the short timeframe made it very difficult to find a shop to accommodate my dire need. Hiller's came through for me printing out over 30 shirts within a matter of days. The Shirts came out great and everyone wore the shirts with pride as they made it through the finish line feeling a sense of accomplishment but humbled as we knew the deep meaning behind the shirt related to my best friend who just the previous week lost his daughter after a 5+ year battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma. I worked there in the late 90s, and that wasn't tolerated. Customer service was always top priority.
