My experience with Karen was really easy & great! I was hard pressed to find a florist for my sons senior prom. I called her about 4 days before prom & she kindly gave me her cell # so I could text her photos for the corsage my sons beautiful date wished to have. She texted me back & said she had the flowers and would have it ready on Friday! Once she had the photo, she told me 2 options she offers for the wristlet corsage. I wish I read the yelp reviews prior to trying to send my friend flowers for her birthday. I live in ME, she lives in NJ. I choose this florist because I thought the website looked nice and knew it was close to her home. I ordered the flowers online, chose the available delivery date, my credit card was charged and I received a confirmation email. The flowers were never delivered! I followed up and was told the were closed until Thursday and my order had been closed. I was so upset and now reading all the reviews with similar complaints it seems to be common practice for this company it's even more maddening! How are they still in business??? I had the exact same experience as many others. What was delivered was NOTHING like what was shown on the website, and when I called to request a partial refund, the owner was argumentative, talked over me, and then complained that I was rude whenever I tried to speak. She offered to create a new arrangement and exchange it, but that would be very awkward for the recipient. When I provided the owner a side-by-side comparison of the website photo and the actual arrangement, she said the website photo would cost much more than what I paid. Really, then why is it listed for that price on the website?!? What I do know is that anyone can see that the arrangement that was delivered doesn't look a thing like what was advertised. read more

The arrangement was not as ordered, and when I asked that it be replaced with what I ordered the owner called and yelled at me for 10 minutes in what was a rude and uncomfortable phone call. Her only solution offered was that she would go to the recipient's house and take back the arrangement. I have never encountered a more unprofessional, condescending, rude business owner in my life. To make a very long story short, I had to order a sympathy arrangement for a colleague's funeral. Without reading the reviews, big mistake, I ordered from Summit and spoke directly with Karen, the owner. Karen, who knew the deceased, who was also a client for many years, assured me she would personally ensure that this person and family received a beautiful arrangement. I have included the pictures of the arrangement that were sent to me by the family members at the funeral who asked the Karen to remove them because they were horrible, dead and smelled bad. Karen even became confrontational with the family members at the funeral mass. When I called her to discuss our displeasure with what was sent and her treatment of the family members, she became defensive, very argumentative and said that someone had left dead flowers in front of her store...ok? She didn't know when the pictures were taken (because funeral flowers should die within a few hours?) and became so loud and argumentative there was no point in continuing the conversation. I filed a complaint with the BBB, which she ignored, and the credit card company. My advice is to pick your own flowers instead of using this business. read more

The reviews below which state the owner Karen was rude, the flowers were not delivered on time, they were the wrong arrangement were all true. My flowers for my retirement arrived at my home a day after they were to be delivered at work from my children to surprise me. My surprise was the woman never apologized for not delivering them when promised not only on Thursday at work but again on Friday when she promised to deliver the flowers first thing in the morning at my home and finally came at 5:10 PM. The arrangement was not even close to the picture of what they had ordered. The verbal exchange made me realize I needed to warn others what to expect if you order anything here. I too wish I had listened to the reviews for this florist!!! The corsage I picked up today was supposed to be white roses, yet the edges of them were brown. They were tiny roses and not really white, very messy looking. Called to discuss with owner and she was rude and condescending from the VERY beginning!!!! Completely unprofessional and dismissive. She tried to turn everything back to me the customer. Telling me I don't know anything about the flowers and the distributers. I am so sorry I didn't read the reviews before. I ordered a corsage and I was VERY disappointed with it. First of all, I chose a bracelet and I got something completely different. The one that I chose was with clear crystals and I got some very cheap looking pearls. What was even worse was that the roses looked withered. I told the lady they didn't look fresh and she started raising her voice and telling me they were real flowers just like if I were an idiot. I asked her to exchange one flower and she refused. Of course, she knew I was going to take the corsage because where else I could find one the same day. We purchased a living social "in store" credit for this florist. When I called and asked that the flowers be delivered to a local hospital, I was told that "had I read the deal, I would have seen that it is in store only." I informed that woman that I did not see the difference since I would be happy to pay the additional delivery charge. I was informed that she would have to put the $10 deliver charge on a credit card and "why bother." The woman was completely unaccommodating and unfriendly. Sadly, my father died this week and someone kindly sent my mother a "Valentine" from Texas. I do not know which flower service they used, but it was fulfilled by Summit Hills. The flowers were delivered to my mother's home (she was not there) and left outside in the 10 degree weather. They were completely dead. When we called to ask that they replaced we got a lot of discussion but ultimately they agreed. When my sister stopped in to pick them up, again, there was a huge discussion about how someone had agreed that they should be left out (as I said, my mother was NOT HOME). In any case, seriously? Left outside, unwrapped in sub-freezing weather? Finally they replaced it with this - 3 daisies, a couple of which are already starting to bend over. BTW, has anyone ordered flowers later? Let me add my voice to the many others who have experienced deceitful business practices from Summit Hills Florist. I ordered flowers for a friend. Karen, the owner, was specifically told that this friend is frequently out of town and the order should not be delivered without confirmation that someone was home. Nevertheless, she delivered flowers in 90 degree heat which were not received for several days. My friend called and emailed the florist - no response for four days. After four days, I started calling and emailing. No answer; no response. When I finally reached Karen, she lied and said she had left me a message. She promised to deliver the flowers the following week and we agreed on a specific date. My friend was home all day. No delivery, no phone call. It was not until a week later, when Karen got the chargeback from the credit card, that she tried to call my friend to deliver. In the meantime, I had ordered flowers from another florist. Karen then had the audacity to try and fight the chargeback. Deceitful, lying, incompetent. read more

Terrible customer service and low quality flowers. My husband order an expensive arrangement of "Everlasting Roses" that specified on their website that the flowers will last for a minimum of 1 year. The flowers died in less than 1 week. When I called to voice my disappointment, the florist told me the flowers were supposed to dry up and become crusty and most people love them. She told me she had delivered on her service and would not do anything else for me. Flowers from the local supermarket last longer than these flowers did, and these flowers were 10x more expensive. Do not use this florist. On two separate occasions over a three year span (most recently because I thought I'd give them another chance) she delivered wrong product and late. Most recently she lost my order I gave over the phone, rewrote a new one, both times I specified a specific color of flower. She asked my arrival to pick up. I showed up 15 mins. late it wasn't ready. I returned it was the wrong color. I tried to speak with her about it, she picked up the telephone. I had my flowers done by Summit Hills Florist for my wedding. I met with Karen several times over the year and we seemed to be on the same page. I had samples made and was looking forward to seeing my flowers for my big day!!! I went a few days before to make final payment and finalize a few details. I wont get into specifics but I was unhappy with a few details and thought we clarified solutions. On the day of my wedding my bouquet had not blossomed fully as I explained I wanted and I had to try and pull my flowers open. Also I did not want any leaves or greens in any of my flowers and there were leaves everywhere. My centerpieces were different then the sample I had seen and the guys flowers had some artificial flowers in them which I explained the week before I had not wanted. The centerpieces were supposed to be a certain color and they looked like they hadnt all matured fully and looked a little ripe. We also discussed having votives around my centerpieces which never were delivered (lucikly the venue had tea lights). Obviously it was the day of my wedding so not much could be done but when I inquired about it the day after I was told we could discuss it when I got back from my honeymoon. When my mother and I went to the shop to figure out the miscommunication it did was not received well and it was not a pleasant experience for any of the parties involved. Also we were supposed to take our pew bows that we had paid for to keep and they werent there and had to inquire about a couple times until my father eventually went back to get them. It was a very unfortunate situation especially since I have seen other beautiful work from summit hills online. Also their facebook page had pictures of our flowers from our wedding. I didnt mind the pictures of my flowers that were taken at the shop but I asked the pictures from our wedding be removed as well as our names from the shops facebook account and that was refused. I wound up having to contact facebook to remove them as well as our names, but our names were reposted. At the end of the day our wedding was fantastic and the flowers were fine, it just didnt go as I had imagined and did not feel I got what I paid for, although we were told we got more than we paid for. We wound up filing a complaint with the better business bureau and got no response. I have read glowing reviews on this florist and truly believe them. I however can only speak from my experience and would recommend every bride get every detail in writing (nothing verbal) and get recommendations from friends and family and dont just go with a business because they are on theknot.com. read more

I give this business 0 stars. Never use this business-they are rude and do not stand behind their products!! We were sent a floral arrangement as a gift upon the death of my father. The florist left us a message and without hearing back from us left the arrangement on the front porch in the freezing cold weather. The arrangement was destroyed within minutes. When I called, I spoke to Diana and she argued with me that someone had authorized to have it left-which we had not! Even if we had, who would leave a bouquet of flowers outside with no wrapping around it to protect it in February with the temperatures around 12 degrees. It was Valentine's weekend and I think they just wanted to check the box and say they delivered it. After several minutes of arguing we were told to bring it back in the next day for a replacement of the original $ value. When my sister returned to the store, the clerk again argued with her and told her that they had been authorized to leave the arrangement. I have never, ever seen a local business refuse to stand behind their products like this. Plus to make matters worse-the bouquet had cost $80. and the arrangement had 3 Gerbera daisies and a little sprig of filler. I have seen much more attractive arrangements at the grocery store!
