I came here to get my jewelry appraised. I had two diamond pieces. I was given a $400 appraisal for my diamond necklace and to say I was shocked was an understatement. I took it to another jeweler who priced the piece at OVER $5,000.00. I felt so ripped off when Summit handed me the $410 price for a piece of jewelry that has been in my family for over 20 years. I have no idea where they got that price for a piece with over 12 beautiful diamonds in it and the piece is in great condition. the environment in there was very lax and sort of loud. overall, not impressed and they definitely tried to rip me off. not cool. read more

He used the center diamond from his great grandma's ring and then the 10 diamonds from his grandma's anniversary band. I absolutely in love with the design they came up with and adore its vintage feel. They were also able to inset the diamonds a bit more than usual as I have horses and didn't want it to catch on anything while doing barn chores. I live in Webster - close enough to walk to the shop but for some reason, I hadn't stopped in for many years, despite my penchant for fine jewelry. The selection is unlike anything I've seen across the country - and all nestled in this cozy refurbished 2-story home. It's actually a fun adventure to stop in. Candy and treats for all and a working fireplace for cooler days. They have cases and cases of every gemstone you could want, a huge variety of unique settings and unlike so many retailers now, they have plenty of friendly staff to assist customers. I also found their prices were reasonable. Best of all is that they can do custom work that so many jewelers can't or won't do anymore. Many of their pieces are one of a kind and are simply stunning. If that's not enough, the owner, Marty, is such an interesting individual who is not only a master jeweler and successful entrepreneur but also very philanthropic. I am so impressed with this jeweler. After being treated like garbage at Robinson Jewlers on Watson Road, what a breath of fresh air Gayle was. My antique family heirloom engagement ring fell apart. Not sure how. Don't care, honestly. But it had to be fixed. Fast. My wedding set was super thin to begin with, and it had split ages ago on the band. Also needed to be fixed. Well after calling around and visiting a few places, I walked into Summit yesterday. Gayle immediately greeted me warmly. Showed empathy toward my situation. The quote I received from Robinson....1/6 of that cost got my complete wedding set repaired, maintenance performed, and sparkling like a brand new set. I was told it wouldn't be back for at least 5 days. I got a call to come get it the the next day. Robinson told me it would be at least two weeks. Two weeks without my wedding set? I don't think so. I couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out. Plus they told me I could stop by whenever for free cleaning, and to make sure all my diamonds were tight. Thanks again!!! read more

Loved the ring we had customed made a couple years back @ summit jewelers. At the time a big deal was made about the life time guarantee on my ring. Well that is NOT the case, and instead of trying to work with us over a minor ($100) repair, the owner called me and my husband liars and pushed my ring back at us. I have never had such horrible customer service, and since the owner doesn't care if he satsifies his customers, I recommend going to Shane Co down the street. I had been a loyal customer for years - until recently. I brought some small stones to Summit to be fashioned into a necklace. I was assisted by Gayle. She said that she would email some designs for my review. She did within a week . I made my selection immediately sending her a confirming email. After a month of not hearing from Gayle, I called Summit. Gayle told me that she didn't receive my email. When she checked she realized that in fact she had. How long would I have waited if I had not called? Then her explanation was " I didn't see it." A week later the necklace was ready (5 weeks). When I picked up the piece I told her of my disappointment. Again, I got a lame excuse that she just hadn't seen the email. This is not the way to keep long time customers pleased. She did nothing to keep my good will. In fact, her attitude made me feel like I had erred. I will find another jeweler. read more
