This review is about the sister dealership (Roc E-Z Auto) and the only reason it's getting to stars is because Ralph was a sweetheart and was very patient with this entire series of issues. I bought my car in November of '24... was extremely happy about it! And then the check engine light came on 6 months later... I took it into a mechanic that is highly trusted and was told that I had multiple leaks and that my ball joint was one good pothole away from my tire flying off. They said for everything they found wrong with my car, it should never have been sold to me. Now. I trust my mechanic. But I wanted to be sure and I got a second opinion. Cue me taking my car to ridgeview motors. They said they have never seen my car before (mind you. This place is a sister company to Summit view and Ridgeview. Same owner) at that shop. And even the mechanic at Ridgeview told me the car never should have been sold to me. Fast forward to after all of that got done and paying out of my own pocket. Check engine light still hasn't gone off. So I had a diagnostic check run on it... and the code coming back is a catalytic converter bank one code. I call them AGAIN and ask what was going on. Because at this point I'm irate that I bought a $12k car that I'm ending up spending the equivalent of my down payment in repairs on... I told them I wanted to speak with the owner because this is ridiculous. Ball joints and a cat converter don't go within 6 months to a year on a freshly inspected car! And since it was outside of the requirements for me to enact the lemon law, I wanted something to be done for the fact that I was sold a faulty car! I went into Summit View and asked to speak to the owner or whoever was in charge and Steve (the manager at the time) told me that the owner would get in contact with me in a few days. It is now December of 2025 (6 months after I was told the owner would get in touch with me) and I have not heard a single thing from the owner. I was also told that the owner would refrain from contacting me for as long as possible just so that everything that's wrong wouldn't be covered by a warranty and he wouldn't have to pay or fix anything. With the amount of money I spent in repairs already, I'm contemplating suing this location or even the owner directly because I was sold this car under the implication that it was able to pass inspection and I wouldn't have to do anything in terms of repairs which is a form of fraud! This is beyond ridiculous and I absolutely do not advise anyone to buy from Roc EZ EVER...! Honestly contemplating going to another dealership, seeing if they'll take my car, pay off the rest of it, and get me a new car that isn't riddled with problems... never again will I buy from here again. read more

I have purchased 2 cars from this dealership over the past 15 years. Their prices are reasonable and they have a nice selection. Even though I purchased this car during the COVID-19 pandemic, the transaction was easy. While I wasn't able to test drive the car first, I worked out an arrangement whereby I had a 4 hours and and up to 100 mi from the time of delivery to return the car if I wasn't satisfied, and receive a 100% refund. Turns out that I discovered that there was a defect with the transmission (Torque Converter and ECM)--I notified the dealership and they got right back to me. After some easy research, I was able to determine that the transmission was covered under an extended manufacturer's warranty and was repaired with new parts and a reprogramming of the computer. read more

As neighbors, we witnessed the purchased Black Tahoe showing various exterior scratches over a few months time, which seemed to appear gradually. My fiancé who has been in classic car restoration for years, commented that he thought it was a disaster happening before his eyes, with the thought of black wax coverup. After hearing what they have gone through with trying to get a resolution from the dealer, it is apparent that it is a car buyer's worst nightmare! We are dismayed at what they have been through and the deceptive practices at this dealership. I would hope that everyone would go elsewhere before being scammed !! read more

If I could give zero stars for this dealership, I would. They promised that a vehicle we were interested in buying was available and would be on the lot waiting for us to test drive. We took time off work to get to the appointment early. When we got there we were informed the car had been sent out to auction earlier that day. They had made no attempt to hold the car for us nor did they let us know that the car was actually gone before we drove 25 miles to the dealership. A salesman we spoke with promised to get the car back from auction and that he would personally follow up with us. We never heard a word from him. It would have been fine if they had made an effort to let us know the real status of the car before we drove to the dealership. Instead we wasted gas and time from work for nothing. We did get a lip service apology from the owner of the dealership but he did nothing to make it right or find us a comparable vehicle. I do not recommend Summit View. Go anywhere else if you want to be treated with value and respect. read more

We purchased a Black Tahoe SUV for $36k+ . It looked perfect when we saw it online and then in person. After the purchase we would wash it gingerly as we take pride in our vehicles and boats. Slowly over 4 months, very deep scratches were appearing. They were symmetrical on both front end areas and then sporadic all over the front panels all the way down to the end of the vehicle. We took it to many places and heard the same response, they used black wax and it slowly wore off! Others all agreed also that the vehicles scratches were indicative of being covered and wind blowing the cover. You can imagine how upsetting this is on a purchase of over $36,000. When we went to the Summit to speak with the owner we were confronted by a very hostile manager who told us the owner wasn't there. He looked at the vehicle and said "you put those on the vehicle". We were so upset he would say this yet this I guess is how they roll! We insisted to speak with the owner Andy Marsucci . To our surprise Andy came out when the irate manager went inside. Andy said he would have his "doll up guy" look at it and said he would not sell a vehicle like this! We assured Andy we would not have purchased a vehicle that looked like this. He agreed to have his guy buff it if we could leave it. So we did. When Andy brought it outside all the marks were still there. We shared we were not happy and asked if he could just buy the SUV less the amount of money we paid so far on the loan. He laughed and said NO. I asked why won't you? There was no response. We also told him the manager was rude and belligerent to us! At first we believed Andy when he said what he said below : but now realize Andy used the "sympathy card" Andy said " oh our finance manager John Z. just came from Florida because his brother has cancer he's been having a hard time!" We asked him to make this right and he mentioned he would meet us 1/2 way if we get a quote from "HIS GUY" up the road who does body work! We immediately went there and we were told this would be about about $6,000-$8,000 worth of work. After weeks of phone tag with Andy we finally had an appt at 5 pm today to review "his guys" quote. He called us back around 5:15. He was busy and apologized for running late and explained he needed to walk outside to discuss our situation because customers were inside ! WOW he didn't want them to hear!! He said he knew we went to his guy for the quote and was willing to give us $1000 towards the $6-8k. I can't believe the audacity. Not to mention he started off by staying we brought it 4 months after so this is what he will do??? We repeated ... It slowly appeared bcs the black wax wore off slowly! NOW perhaps he bought it that way BUT these places are in the business to DOLL UP their vehicles and he swears he doesn't use black wax! Either way, we bought it from him and he needed to make it right! Sooooo he hung up on us when we told him $1000 was unacceptable (based on his previous offer )and we didn't appreciate Andy using John's brother as a scape goat for John's rude, hostile and nasty behavior towards us! I truly hope anyone looking for a used vehicle does NOT go to SUMMITVIEW AUTO! They pride themselves on 40 yrs of business and repeat customers HOWEVER we are never going back there and hope we can prevent others from this experience! My next call is to the BBB! Amazing service! I inquired online one morning and got response within an hour from Matt Witt who made the process quick, simple and stress-free. I went in for a test drive that same day and walked out in less than an hour later signed off on my first car. I went to the Dodge dealership just down the road and when I arrived, nobody knew who I was and had no idea i was scheduled for a test drive and was not helpful at all and showed no initiative or interest in my business. Do not buy a car from this place- Do not even fill out an information request for a car from his place- if you stumble upon a great deal that leads to a website about summit view auto llc immediately close the browser and look at a big time dealership; this place is so shady. From my first interaction I got the impression of a car dealer right out of central casting. The "finance manager" who immediately contacted me wasted no time in pulling out ever trick in the book from sending me pictures of other people driving the car that I was interested in to telling me that he had 3 other bites on it already that day and then on the day that I was to come check it out he told me that it was off the lot for repairs. Whether or not that was truth or tactics suffice it to say I went elsewhere and spent twice as much and made a far better deal than anything they were willing to do. Especially since they're negotiation process consisted of "this is the price, we think it's fair and aren't coming off of it" essentially. So having gone to a more reputable dealership and purchased another car I thought out of courtesy I would let them know that I had already closed on the deal and thanked them for their time. That was on August 3rd, the day after I purchased my new car from a different dealership. Today I received a letter from summit auto llc detailing the credit report that they pulled on me on August 19, two weeks and 2 days after I had told them that there would be no deal. SUV lasted only 5 months!!!!! ****note: after buying your car they say they'll give you a $50 gift card if you post positive reviews and show them. I wanted to wait and see how the car was, glad I didn't take the bait**** That 5 star review that's on here, seriously? Just look how it's written, obviously some PR damage control... I purchased a Ford Edge and after 5 months and only 4,000miles the drive shaft was bad. Their service department had it for a week and replaced it. Turns out the part was seriously defective and still put it in anyway. I had it for a day and it was back in the shop another week. After getting it back it still wasn't right and now since the abuse the car had gone through with the drive shaft the transmition started to slip. This was all due to their negligence. A few weeks after I got my Ford Edge back for the second time their service department then claimed "they didn't get paid yet because they never filed the paperwork for the warranty work. so if their warranty company calls tell them it's at the shop being worked on." I refused and said that I already got rid of the car and I was not going to lie for them. They were not happy with that answer and continued calling me until it finally stopped. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHADY DEALERSHIP!! they may have shiny cars but they are absolute JUNK!! I have now traded in my Ford Edge to a REAL DEALERSHIP and am now paying the price big time on a new car because of the negative equity I had in the piece of junk Summit Auto sold me. After owning lemon after lemon and dealing with typical car dealer sleazeballs I have become very pessimistic when it comes to the car buying process. I had originally just gone out to look at cars for my mother, just to keep her company. I knew that I needed a new car but I was just not in the financial situation to do such a thing so I decided to vote my attention to my mothers new car buying process. After talking with Jim he gave me some relief reassuring me that getting me a new car wouldn't be that hard and that he could pull strings and get me out of my lemon so that not only do I drive a car I like but I can drive a car that is safe. He took that same attention to detail with my mother and her car purchase. Long story short Summit view auto completely changed my opinion on car dealers and how they can help you. Please do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this place. I went there and looked at an SUV I liked and drove it around the parking lot. Immediately noticed that the brakes needed work and the backup camera was not working either. At first, Alex told me that everything would be fixed before delivery. Later he said that in order for them to star making the vehicle ready they would need a deposit and basically commit to buying the vehicle. I told Alex that I was still in the decision making process and I wanted to keep looking. Even though they knew that, still they took my information and pulled my credit report unbeknownst to me. I only found out about this several weeks later when I started getting letters from banks saying that they had declined my loan application which I never submitted. Also, when I went to a REAL well known car dealership they told me they could see multiple auto loan applications to different banks and it made it difficult for them to find competitive interest rates for me and it affected my credit rating too. I thank God that the manager at this other place was very proactive, gracious, and patient in no letting go until he found the best deal for us. It´s true what someone wrote: they also pulled the story that there were other buyers interested and I needed to make a quick decision otherwise the car would be gone fast. To this day that particular SUV is still being advertised and they even dropped the price $500! So, please BEWARE if you´re going to buy at Summit do it at you own risk! read more

I spoke with a few folks there and they were fairly adamant about their stand. So - we took the van to a repair shop. However - my daughter (it's her vehicle) received a call from the owner AND the service manager stating that they wanted to make things right. UPDATE: They made things right once - and ONLY once. My daughter has put less than 5K miles on this vehicle and we have had to replace: water pump, timing belt, serpentine belt, front brakes and rotors, power steering belt and pump, O2 sensor. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BUY FROM THESE CROOKS. Learn well from our mistake. read more

First time buying car. Has had no problems with the Honda Civic 07 it handles well. Salesman made sure to service the vehicle before selling it to me. AC was not working, but made an arrangement with Salesman to get it fixed. Insurance was quoted in a timely manner and within my price range. Did feel a little pressured about purchasing car. Salesman went to bat for me when my bank would not work with me since there was a credit limit on my account. He was able to work out an arrangement with the payment method. STAY AWAY FROM THE TRIBECA!!! I bought the tribeca in October the second day of owning the vehicle on my way to work 3 engine lights came on. Long story short the replaced the motor and did not tell us until we had to go above management and speak directly to the owner. They ended up buying us out of the car and to my disbelief the car was back for sale! The company did the right thing by buying the vehicle from us but their customer service was terrible the 78 days we owned the vehicle out of that 78 days or owning it they had it in their shop for 48!! The car is nice but the office staff lost my paystub, then lost the verification of address on a bill, then screwed up my loan. I ended up having to sign another amended loan after having the car 2 weeks, which they said would be about $3 more each payment it wasnt it was $20 more!!! Anytime Ive ever bought a vehicle the loan contract was done at the time of purchase not adjusting it 2 weeks later for more money!!!! I am an out of state purchaser of a minivan from Summit View Auto. I worked with Walter who has been friendly and answered all of my questions. He processed the paperwork and dealt with the red tape in an organized fashion. Unfortunately, there have been some serious issues that have left me disappointed: 1. I was told the car would be detailed and it showed up with a dirty interior. Some portions of the car were filthy. This was communicated to Summit View and I was apologized to but they said they would not pay to have me detail it. 2. The car was missing three headrests. After a month and a half, I was shipped replacement headrests which were stained and dirty, and one was the wrong size. When I asked for a replacement for the replacement I was told they would not ship it until I shipped back the wrong replacement. I have had nearly two months without head rests and now I am looking at another month of waiting. To be without head rests for a quarter of a year has been disappointing. I will also be paying to have to ship the replacement back. 3. I was told that the front brakes would be replaced at Summit View Auto and only discovered that they had not been replaced after taking the vehicle to a Honda dealership after the purchase. When I communicated this to Summit View I was told the owner would have only replaced them if it had not passed NY State inspection. This was not the original deal. They have said they will not pay for this either. Each of these three things have been an inconvenience and a financial burden for my family. I had originally written a positive review prior to receiving the car, however, I have since been disappointed with these three issues that have not been resolved even after communicating with Summit View. I am still hoping there can be some resolution to these issues, but have yet to have any of them resolved. read more

Than when it was time to sign papers they told me how great there Warranty's were so I purchased the warranty,after having the truck for only a few weeks the tread was coming off my tire and the other was leaking but guess what the rim and tire protection I bought doesn't cover that this truck has been awful everything has gone wrong and the warranty doesn't cover anything the airbag light has been on since I pulled out of parking lot but there techs don't fix that either !! save yourself the trouble and find a good honest dealership they are money hungry crooks!!!!!!! read more

I don't know if all these review are from their friends and family but all the people that I talked that bought a car from them can relate to me. They sell junk cars rigged to sell and that's it. Big shout out to Walter! He handled everything very well and ran around like crazy getting things in order. Gave up part of his lunch for my 3yr old who was thirsty while waiting to get the credit app fully up and running. Great guy to buy from. My family was in line to purchase a used minivan or a vehicle that could hold our growing family. We almost got sucked into a dealership just down the road but luckily enough I drove a little further. There were a couple of vehicles I was interested in and the dealer (Walter) grabbed all the keys and spent some time showing me the cars. Another person came in for a scheduled test drive and Walter allowed me some time to look over the van I was interested in while he helped her. He ran around the place like crazy trying to make both of us happy, which he did. I took the van for a ride and was pleased. My wife on the other hand was a stickler about rust and looked the van over with a fine tooth comb finding some issues. Walter said they wouldn't be issues and stepped up to take care of it. We came back the next day and the majority of issues were addressed but some left lingering. We also discovered a couple of new issues as we got in to take possession of the new (to us) car. Walter has since called, written and texted asking if there was anything he could do. The service department contacted us promptly to make things right. I don't think they were prepared for the laundry list I had following a weekend with the van and examining it. Dropped the van off last night and all the issues were resolved. Now I may have an update if I'm not satisfied but if Walter has his way I won't be sending a negative rating. For others who left negative reviews... ITS A USED CAR!! for the most part you can't tell when things are going to go on a used car. Used car dealers would go out of business if they paid for everything that went wrong. Yes they stand by their cars but at some point it becomes YOUR car and you are responsible for it. There are extended warranties you can purchase to cover the used car but again, its a used car! And don't be dumb enough to buy a car sight unseen!!! read more

Vehicles are way overpriced for the model years and condition. They have their vehicles priced at least $1k over 'outstanding' quality cars when the vehicles are truly 'average' condition... at best. read more

update: took my car to the Subaru dealership and came up with MANY PROBLEMS including a recall, a hole in the subframe, issues with the engine mount, spark plugs, and so on. was told at Subaru delaership that there is no way Summit View Auto could not have known about these defects. read more
