Kaya was great! It was such a breath of fresh air since talking to car salespeople can be so…read morestressful because it can feel very pushy and they're always trying to make you buy more - but Kaya was so nice and direct, it felt more like having a conversation with a friend. We had already test driven the car and knew which model and trim that we wanted and she was very honest and understanding of our position. We were very appreciative that she was willing to work with us and we were able to reach a deal in about 30 mins, definitely the easiest/best experience I've ever had buying a car. 10/10 would recommend, ask for Kaya!

The process was not at all an award winning customer service experience…read more My first visit there to look at cars, I was greeted by Ray, who seemed nice, and said if we got a car they would even throw in a Josh Allen cardboard display after my mother commented on getting a picture with one. I took a Forester for a test drive while they were looking to give me an estimate for my current Outback. The Forester was nice. When I got back to the dealership after the test drive, they offered me $1,000 less than any other dealer that I had been to. They also refused to honor their advertised$2,500. The female manager (do not remember the name) said that was most likely going to be junked because of an exhaust leak (true), needing new tires, and being older. The tires have a total of about 15,000 miles on them and were in good shape. The entire "inspection" lasted a few minutes, was started for less than a minute, and never moved from the parking spot. I left a message with one of the executive team to try and get the terms and conditions on the advertised extra trade in value since I did not believe them, and got a call back from Justin who said that it was made clear to all the employees that the promotion was not supposed to be handled like they did at all, and it would be honored. Afterwards, I worked with the GM Zach a little, and the sales person Mercy who were both polite. At no point during the conversations with any of the employees did anyone get in the car and show, or talk about any of the features. Nor was any of the paperwork explained, other than to say what the name of the paperwork was. The only person that I would recommend dealing with is the finance person who very nicely explained all of the options for possible extended warranty and protection plans. Zach did offer to certify the car through the Subaru certification program, which I had asked about. They would not work on the price or anything else, I am assuming because of being forced to honor the trade in deal. The only reason I continued there is because of the trade in deal made financial sense to me. I wouldn't say I got a good deal, but it was a fine one for what seems to be a tough market. As we were finishing up, I asked about the Josh Allen cutout that had been mentioned on our first visit. Somehow they conveniently ran out of them in the 4 days since first visiting. Of course, pay no attention to the few that are sitting around the show room. If you are thinking of buying a vehicle from West Herr, I would go to one of the other stores in hopes that they may have better people since they will drive any of their vehicles to their other stores to be looked at. My experience here was rather impersonal and not very informative. I will also add that Ian at Van Bortel Subaru in Henrietta was an excellent representative to talk to, and I was a little disappointed that I was not able to come to a deal with him. If the deal at all makes sense, I would absolutely take my business there.

Everything was set to go, although it took a few days. I went in with my own financing in place which they assured me they could get me a better rate. I got a few hard hits to my credit report and a higher rate as by this time, my banks rate expired. When I got there it turned out the car I had bought online was sold from under me and they gave me a choice of two other vehicles. Same make and model. Less features for about the same price. I picked between the two and have been dissatisfied ever since. And the cocky salesman was an..... well I will stop there. Never went back for the undercoating I paid for. It can only be done on certain days which don't work for me. Between work and the distance. Also noted after the fact, the dashboard was taken apart and it wasn't put back together correctly. so that rattles. Don't trust them. I think they have one solid requirement to work there. You have to have a Major in BS with a GPA of 4. Take your business elsewhere! :

My complaint is with the manager Grant Corsaro who is a lil weasel. Purchased my vehicle 12/29/24 and now here we are 3/28/25 and I still can't get plates. I have been on a speaker call with grant the manager about this problem about 2 weeks ago and was told he was going to have everything over nighted to my DMV so I can get plates. Fast forward to today and no plates or over night anything. I question him on this and he says that this is the first time hearing about it and that I have no idea all the stuff that goes at bob johnson and everything that he has to do in day. I start to put pressure on grant and he says that I am done bud and hangs op the phone. Grant Corsaro has serious emotional problems and he will lie thru his teeth and should not be a manager at bob Johnson Chevrolet. Everything was recorded Grant. Go drive uber

Massive equity grab on trade-in--be very careful here. I didn't realize that dealerships don't want…read morewhat is best for their customers-they only want what's best for them. I purchased a Kia Telluride here in 2021 and, looking back at the data, I realize how much I was taken advantage of on my trade-in. I traded a 2016 Toyota Sienna XLE with 160k miles. Despite 2021 being the peak of the used car market--where high-mileage Toyotas were in extreme demand. this dealer offered me only $2,900 and didn't mention that I could get three to four times that if I sold privately. At the time, the fair trade-in value for that vehicle in the Rochester area was between $12,000 and $14,000. Because the Telluride was in such high demand, the dealership used that leverage to offer a 'scrap-level' price for a reliable, high-trim minivan that was worth significantly more. I understand dealers need to make a profit, but capturing over $9,000 in equity from a customer is predatory. If you are buying a 'hot' car here, please check your trade-in values at Kelley Blue Book or JD Power before signing anything. I learned the hard way that they will prioritize their margins over a fair deal. If I could give zero stars I would. As a busy, tired, single mom of three, it would have been nice to know that the dealership was reputable and had my best interests at heart. Not the case. Buyer be aware.
